Drought labels these Ohio counties as natural disaster area

Twenty-two Ohio counties have been declared a primary natural disaster area due to drought, according to the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency. That includes ten counties from Central Ohio.

I have a friend that farms in Ohio. He got one quarter inch of rain in 90 days. He disked 200 acres of beans and 100 acres of corn. Total loss.

What 'changes' would you suggest? No mechanized farming? No fertilizer? I will bet you are unaware that the feedstocks for anhydrous ammonia and urea are natural gas....
