Hi Darla, all yarns are beautiful. My favorit is" Kelebek altın ilmek " ( means: "Butterfly golden stiche " 😍 ) Thanks for the sharing and greetings from Germany.👋
Hey Darla ;) Yes, 5 dollars a ball is good since we here in Canada pay almost 10 per ball normally. I've been looking around for a review of the new cottage cotton from Herrschners, just curious. This time I'm getting ready to make an ice yarn order. So nice to see you again, I'll have to go back and check our some of your recent videos ... have a wonderful day, Sunshine
Instead of dividing it by the number of skeins, divide it by 100gr increments, because some skeins are larger, so that way you will like the numbers even more.😉😉
Great yarn haul!! I thunk $5.13 is a good price for quality yarn. I'm not razy about the COD charge, but I always rack that up the HST or something like that. I am waiting for an order from Herrschners to arrive, and I thinknits good value for product. Plus the added bonus of the hours of fun I have crocheting, definitely worth the money 😊
I was told last year that the C.O.D. fee was a delivery truck fee to my post office lol and it was $20 some dollars for me. But I live in Nova Scotia so perhaps it's more expensive. I stopped ordering from Herrschners because of the extra fee. Which is sad because I really do like some of their yarn. The only way it would be worth it to me is if it was something I really wanted and could not find anywhere else .Alll of your yarn is beautiful and thank you for sharing all the information with us. 🇨🇦⚘
Hi Darla thanks for doing this. When I get my stuff from Herschners it is always bagged up. You got some really nice colors. I got some of the 5 in a bag that were on sale for $1.00 each. I got pink and blue and white and a multi color. There wasn't too many to choose from but they will be good for baby clothes. I just dont like that I pay there shipping and then have to pay Canada Post again. Then the difference in the dollar. But what can I say I only have Michael's and Walmart and that's getting to be slim pickens.
$5 per ball is quite good after all adds up Frist and last time i ordered from Herrschners was july 2020. I believed shipping was 13? 16? Something like that. And i don't remember i pay extra later. Now it seems crazy. Everything costs so much more 😢 Also I recommend "Shippsy" if you happen to live near their pickup office. I got Premier order through it. It was free shipping from Premier, and only custom/handling fee I need to pay was 6.99CAD. And I live near by its pickup place. I am so glad i found this for my yarny stuff 😂
Its probably been close to a year since i last bought from Herrschners, I didn't have to pay the COD charge, I didn't pay tax or brokerage at the door either, it was shipped USPS then transferred to Canada Post at the border. I have noticed many companies in the US are using a different shipper to get to us and it seems to take longer and if there is a savings on shipping, they are not passing it along, I'm not sure why the switch. Thanks for this video, I appreciate the information and consider it when placing orders.
Yarn has gone up in price Even in the US you pay for high shipping prices and then taxes. It’s always good to take advantage of the free shipping they give now and then or buy local How can you resist with all the beautiful new colors out there. I’m just a yarn addict I guess, I get what I can and crochet away lol
Thanks Darla. As a Canadian, any info on purchasing in the US is helpful I'm not buying any yarn at this time because I need to use up what I have but still good to know.
nice haul! I love the Garden Batik (say it with a long A (Baa teak) ) I find it crochets kind of like a cotton blend. I love that it works up almost like it was hand dyed. That fee is Custom's Duty, It's an importation fee from a foreign country, lol. I've paid it before myself, even with Amazon when I buy it here in the US and send it back to grandkids up in Canada. Keep up the great work, Darla!
You did well because you shopped the bargain sales, which makes it really affordable per skein. Not shopping the sales can make that per skein price tag go much higher! I will likely avoid Herrschners in the future, but I won't rule them out completely. Thank you for the price breakdown!
Curious to see how the color changes are on the batik! And love the dark purple and green and yellow smoothie oh the waterlily is my favorite. That was my late daughter's favorite flower
I picked it up at the Post Office. Herrschners said in an email to me that the COD charge IS Canadian taxes. No duty, unless the charge at the post office is not taxes, but duty?? It's all very confusing 😕
@@CraftyYarnOwlwithDarla good to hear it was cdn post. I have heard horror stories with DHL I have never bought across the border due to all the extra dollars u pay along with the exchange rate. Thx for replying.😊
I've used the Ice Cream Big Scoop for baby blankets because you can just throw it in the washer and dryer at regular temps. Darla, did you get charged duty on this order?
Thanks for showing me all your yarnie goodness. Have a good morning.
Darla I cannot wait to see what you got from Herrschners!
Thanks for sharing Darla.
Great haul Darla ❤❤

Thank you! 💕
Thanks for sharing. I’m not Canadian but man, prices have raised quite a bit. Pretty colors definitely!
Thank you Darla. I didn't realize so much higher up North.🇨🇦

Beautiful colors! I know you will make something amazing with them♥🧶
Thanks. This was very helpful. I've stopped ordering from them. I was charged 30.00 COD on a 95.oo order last summer.
Yikes!
Awesome haul.
Nice Haul. I'm glad we don't have to pay that extra charge, but living in Alaska, our shipping is extra high
Ohhh... love the beautiful yarn!
Thanks for breaking it down,Darla.
Lovely yarn
A lot of beautiful pastels.

Thanks, Hanna! I have a video on Shippsy. I used them to get Hobby Lobby yarn across the border & then Shippsy mailed it to me in Manitoba.
@CraftyYarnOwlwithDarla oh. I didn't know that.
How much do they charge you mailing? Just wondering if it's worth it.
@@hanna0528 I just linked the videos with that info at the top of the description box, if you'd like to take a peek.
@@CraftyYarnOwlwithDarla thank you! I will check it out
You got some beautiful colour yarns. Look forward to see what you create with it all. Thanks for sharing the prices too ❤

Pretty baby colors or whatever else.

Great haul Darla. Thank you for sharing with us. I would love to be able to afford to place a big yarn order with someone, someday.
Love the Ice Cream Smoothie yarn. I bought it for children's hats.
Yummy yarn 🧶🥰

These all scream baby blankets! I have three of them to mKe this year
All the add on costs are so insane for us. It's not worth it for me, my budget is too tiny :(
Darla who delivered your yarn to you, Canada Post , purlator, DHL etc??
What was your cdn tax by customs.
Did you get any duty or just tax?? Thx

Hi Liz! I say in the video... acrylic, but the second yarn I showed says it's micro acrylic 😊
I've used the Ice Cream Big Scoop for baby blankets because you can just throw it in the washer and dryer at regular temps. Darla, did you get charged duty on this order?
Just that COD charge.
Loved seeing your yarn haul. Sorry, it cost so much though. It is about average though lol. Hugs and loves my friend ❤️ Toodles for now 💕
Did yours come through the post office? Is that the COD charge you got? Mine came through the post office and I had the $80 fee there per box.
Yes, mine came through the post office. I got an email from Canada Post saying we can now pay the COD charge on line.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pronounced “Ba Teak”
Thank you, Julie!
I live in Nova Scotia and I buy from herrshners too. I agree it’s worth the little extra to get yarn I only see them get in the states. ❤️🧶
