Is there something that you enjoy making (or cooking) during December? This month, I am having fun making snowflakes. It is fun to hear in the comments, if you would like to share about what you are making this month....
Cathy, I am so glad you decided to push that button and start your channel. I just love the work that you do and your soft calming voice. Happy Holidays to you and your family. ❄️🎄✝️🎁☃️
Thank you so much Shannon, my friend. The boggy blanket is so bright and cheery. I am happy that I was gifted this yarn. It was a real challenge to find the nylon scrubby (they are not as popular in the stores now as they once were).
I recognized the retro stripes yarn when you showed the blanket the first time. It works perfectly with the colours. Very fun to watch you open multiple days. Glad you have yarn for bigger projects. ❤
Hi Diane. That retro stripes yarn! I really really like it -- a lot. So very happy that you gifted some to me, and now I am hooked on it. As soon as I saw those colours, knew it would be a Boggy Blanket. (The yarn for bigger projects is perfect. Teen blanket quantity, for sure. Very happy with the Advent box again this year.) It is a lot of fun watching your Advent videos too. Great, as always! :-)
Hi Debbie. I was so happy that I had some of the Jersey stripes yarn stashed away (I think it might be discontinued)... and thought of it as soon as I saw the bird picture. oooo fudge is my husband's favorite. It is so good. (Jeff loves to eat it any time of year.)
Hi Jennifer. Finding the scrubby was a real challenge, as those nylon scrubbies are not as easy to find in stores around here any more. It turned out well in the end, though. Thank you so much for your kind comment. :-)
I get anxious before specialist check-ups too. Thank you for the tip about to-go projects for when I'm in the waiting room. I get ants-in-my-pants in the car (are we there yet??), working on a project would definitely help.
I love to bake in December. I make the same squares and cookies every year according to our tradition, and I also make a carrot pudding and English Christmas Fruitcake. Love all your makes!
Baking is such a skill, and I really wish that I had a talent for it. Your baking sounds so tasty... especially the fruitcake, which I haven't had in years (mouth watering, thinking of it).
Thank you Judy! It all started with the bird of the month. As I really wanted to use that particular yarn with the birds. And eventually found that pattern. (It took a few tries to find a pattern that would work with all the colour changing and not pool.)
Hi Cathy. Your shawl is very pretty. And socks, awesome! Looks like you’re doing great. I’m almost done my holiday knits. Wyatt may have to wait for his squid though. That gives him one more than the girls, yes, I’m that girl lol. He can have it after the holiday. I’ll try to send the information tomorrow on my makes. Show Sunday though so maybe Monday. Last show of the season! I’ll send pics of us in our costumes 😂. Have a great weekend!
Hi Tami. So organized -- you are almost done with your holiday knits? And doing all the markets too... (I also try to have similar number of gifts for each person to open. So we both are that girl. lol) Have fun dressing up for the market! What a great way to finish off your 2024 season! It'll be great to hear from you, but take time to R & R first. There is no hurry to email me. :-)
Great job on all your projects. I really love the colorway of the shawl you made for Judys MAL. I enjoy cooking even couple days or so and then having the leftovers last us a couple days and it's always great when my husband likes the dish. I keep it pretty simple. We are currently working on a quick vegetable soup I made earlier in the week and a turkey/kale/sweet potato skillet I made yesterday. Although I did splurge and picked up a slice of pizza when I was finished shopping at Sam's Club today.
Thank you so much for the comment about my projects Christine. :-) I like your idea about cooking ahead, for a couple of days. Like you, my kind of cooking is simple, home style dishes too. The soup and the skillet dish both sound delish. (I'm a soup girl, and would eat that every day if I could.)
It's wonderful that we are both working on shawls this month. I'm so glad you enjoyed the shawl I knit. This is a busy time of year... you are so right about life getting in the way sometimes.
Hi Cathy, I love your shawl. That pattern is one that I hope to knit sometime soon as well. You’re Cambridge Fibres advent is very similar to mine, but there are a few different yarns as well.
Hi Lori. I am going over to watch your week's videos "all at once" this weekend. That way I still have surprises when I open mine on Friday. (I asked Kerry if she could send me "no wool" if possible, and a crochet version. It will be fun to see what you received in your advent.) Hoping you are feeling better. :-)
Love the colors in your shawl and the blanket. Looking forward to seeing your new blanket with your advent yarn. The shawl pattern is pretty. Off to save it in my Ravelry account. I am busy making a sweater vest for myself and a cocoon cardigan for my granddaughter. Along with some scarves.
Working on the shawl and the blanket brought me so much joy. They are in colours that I really really like (and I hope the people who receive them will enjoy them too). I am so happy that you decided to save the shawl in your Ravelry too. Your sweater vest and the cocoon cardi sound really cozy. Love making scarves (please, can you share if you find favorite scarf patterns).
Hi Mary. I'm happy that you are joining the MAL this month. If you haven't finished, please still send a part-way picture, letting me know the "something new" that you are doing. :-)

I am so very happy that you enjoy my channel! Happy Holidays to you and yours too. 😊
You made a fabulous job of the bird of the month shawl.
Hi Josie. Thank you so much! It took a few tries to find a pattern that worked well with the stripey yarn. I am so happy that you like this one. :-)

@YarnWithHeart Amazon has 3 packs of Retro Stripe for 19.99, not sure if that's a good deal or not.
@@MyPinkBathtub-Diane Thank you so much for letting me know, Diane. (With free shipping, very good deal!)
Hi Cathy. Your shawl is beautiful, the colors are perfect for the MAL. I enjoy making (and eating 😋) fudge for Christmas.

Hello Cathy W I love how you made the dish cloth your own by putting a scrubby in the middle.great job❤🎉

I almost always have a " to go" project. If I'm a passenger on a car ride or a doctor's appt, a project helps with my anxiety.
Very nice Advent ❤

@ well you did an excellent job. No sign of pooling that I could see.

i really like your knitted shawl! i started one from the yarn that I received from you but I have yet to finish it. Life gets in the way.

Cathy I just made Marly Bird's Wavy Ridge Scarf. I am getting ready to try BOD's Van Gogh scarf that she just put out today.
Thank you so much. I like both of these designers and those scarves both look so cozy and have gorgeous drape! Love them both!
I’m hoping to have a photo for your slide show this month. Fingers crossed I get it done before the holiday. 🤞
