I am not buying this narrative that Anthony Davis is a franchise savior. Especially, on a team with LeBron James, who is now going to need even more of the ball to pad his stats.
Davis and James both need a lot of touches to "get their numbers," and the rest of the Lakers are TERRIBLE catch-and-shoot 3-pointers.
The Lakers should be scouting for players who shot well in college or the European leagues, and get themselves some shooters to complete LeBron James' ball dominant style, which is not going to be as effective with old-man-James.
The Pelicans should be doing whatever they can to avoid this same situation with Zion in a few years...

Nah they did the right thing. Thats what you do with players of his caliber. You never trade them within your own conference. That goes for any sport. OBJ to the CLE, Jimmy G to SF, PG to OKC, Kawhi to TOR. Thats what teams do because they dont wanna face them 3 to 4 times a year, twice at home? They want to see that player as less as possible.

@@marchristopheradkins whats best for your team is not letting another west team in the same conference get better because you ultimately want to beat them to get to the top. Helping them weakens their chances. Spurs were never going to help out their arch rival because thats what the Lakers are to the spurs. Their Arch rival and they hate each other. You send him to the opposite conference so no team in the conference gets significantly better and your chances of moving up the ranks and into the playoffs get significantly better. The pelicans got talent, I don't understand why they werent in playoff contention cuz they didnt have scrubs, they had a formidable team, guess AD isnt as great as we think he is as an alpha dog. If I'm the Lakers, i dont take a huge risk on a 1 year rental to possibly get to the 2nd round get bounced then bolts in free agency leaving the Lakers in a worst position than the year before. Not even a guarantee they even sign a free agent this offseason. They're not getting KD, Kwahi, Klay, nor Kyrie, its all about Butler and Kemba, those B tier all stars.
