I was the first to like her photo. Then she searched for me on Facebook. Unlike western women, the Filipina made the effort. That was almost 12 years ago!

I had to chuckle when you said you hadn't seen a "black" man down there. I can say, "down there" because since Feb. 2013 I have been "up here" living in Metro Manila and loving it. All the reports I have heard about Zamboanga along with the wife, a Tondo girl doesn't want me to visit. I'm a very fair-skinned black man, although people don't believe I'm black, and that's cool because I can be whatever anyone wants me to be. I never check the box on race. My mother taught me the day before Kindergarten to draw my own and write "human" and check it, and I haven't stopped, so on official documents, I have been assigned, "White", Latino" & "Black", and I guess I've lived here long enough somewhere I'm probably listed as Asian! Thanks for the video. But, nahhh, I don't think I'm headed there anytime soon. Hard enough dealing with those so-called Islamist behind the wall never mind going to where they're too many and can act crazy especially against foreigners. After a couple of small "investments" her husband direct messaged me on Facebook messenger and told me she has a habit of doing this and that they are still a family, her and his kids. Initially she was defensive like believe whatever I want to believe. She tried to explain herself afterwards but I still had more questions than answers. The excuses she made didn't make sense. Lesson learned.

I will take the time to share a story on Philippine cupid, I had a young lady, who told me she used to talk to a African American male, from Tennessee. He Allegedly used to send her $300.00 American dollars a month, which comes out to $15,000.00 Philippine pesos for six months. Now, I do not know why this brother was a western union papi, but hey! To each their own right? Mommy used to say "you can't drink tea for other people's fever!" Fast forward, according to the young lady the brother came out to the Philippines visit her for two weeks, than six months later he died. She got the call from his sister and his body was shown in the casket.
When she had cam with me, she was sleeping on the floor, no windows, hole on the floor. She was the only child in her third year in college. All she talk to me about was renting an apartment in the city because the "reception would be better." And the litanies of economic wishes she had, I just saw red flags all over the place and left her alone. $300.00 American dollars a month in a third world country, and you still sleeping on the floor? I knew it was time for me to end it permanently. Fellows never ignore the red flags, they will always tell on themselves.

Back in the day at Clark Air Base Philippines they talked about how bad that place was. It was in 1991. So, I do know things have change for the better there. My oldest son, a US Marine Sergeant training Instructor at Camp Pindleton, California is a Gemini too. He is also married to a Marshall Islands Filipina who keeps him and my two (2) prince grandsons happy and content. I noticed that when she first met him and married him too. As my daughter in law she also assure that dad in law is updated on information about all of them. My son lights ups so much when he met her.
