I never commented before. This song spoke to me when I was in my early 20’s. I’m 56 now and it speaks even more to me. I love it and I cry every time I’m blasting it in my car. I’m so glad you reacted to this beautiful song!
This was such a big hit, hard to imagine living through the '90s and not knowing it. Got a kick out of Jay getting that sneaking realization that he'd heard it before. 😄
I think by now the subscribers know Jay....and urge Amber that this was a great song for Jay who has been struggling with his mental health issues....and I saw his face and eyes revealed that he knew the song was a message song from his subs to him!!! Hang in there Jay We are all praying for you and your family!!! Des' ree's whole album is full of songs like this. I absolutely adorn her! And she writes her own music. Her songs are affirmation songs. She can sang!!!
My dad was a product of the 60s and 70s and was the biggest fan of artists like the Beatles, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, etc. He had kidney disease for most of his adult life, and he always said this is was the song he leaned on and listened to most when he was on dialysis before his kidney transplants in 1995 and 2008. He just had his 3rd transplant this past June and it was successful but he died while in recovery. We played this song at his celebration of life. Will always hold a specific meaning to me. Thank you guys for reacting to this ♥️
Definitely another vote for Tasmin Archer's, Sleeping Satellite. Another UK artist from the early 2000's to check is Corinne Bailey Rae and her song, Put Your Records On.
Des’ree is a amazing singer I her from her singing the same by Kissing You from the 1996 film Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio that film is worth a watch keep up the great work guys
FRIENDS…I just want to give a shout out to our dear friend, Jay….its so great to see you smiling! 😃❤️🙏 This was a song that was played nonstop back in the day..
Now THIS is one of my all-time favorites from the 90s!! Such an empowering song with a fantastic message! Back in the day if I needed to listen to something uplifting, I'd put this on. It's a shame music with messages like this aren't on mainstream radio anymore. What this song is telling us is very much still relevant today as it was 30 years ago!
Picture it Edmonton Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 in this song came out in about 1991 or 1992. A massive set of stairs between downtown Edmonton and the river valley. I used to climb these stairs listening to the song and every time I heard it I got a different piece of advice. It gave me peace as I journeyed through that city making my way forward until I left
Please check out her beautiful ballad "Kissing You" from the movie William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet with Leo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. Which y'all need to watch!!! Great 90s take on the classic tragedy and one of the best soundtracks ever!! Keep smiling y'all. 🎶🥀🎶

I love the RSR FAMILY! Jay, Amber, you’re both bringing hope to people all over the world because you’ve transcended. It’s important to transcend in the places that hold us. You’ll continue to bring hope and you’ll pass the very same thing to your kids. Your kids will grow and mature into strong adults with kind and warm hearts. I know you’ll inspire generation upon generation. God’s going to use you guys in such a mighty way. Keep up the great work you guys do. Much love! Harv
@@johnsilva9139 Almost every time there’s a video of a British singer on UA-cam, someone comments (usually someone from across the pond 😏) saying ‘they don’t sing with a British accent 🤔’. Its simple. That’s the singing style of popular music. That’s it.

Amber you are such a beautiful person. Hearing you talk about your mom and seeing the emotions on your face at the end of the song added so much for me to this experience. Loved this song back in the 90s when I sang it with my band and love it still. Bless you both.
As a 80s goth lover, 90s hip hop lover, and 60s/70s soul lover, this song broke down all my walls. Des’ree is amazing ❤. Edited to spell her name right because she’s a queen.
Someone mentioned Tazmin Archer Sleeping Satalite. Yep, another thing of beauty. What a great artist. Along with Des'ree, two artist's that should have had more world exposure. But not the common, take all your clothes of types that record companies push. Or just covering the music of others. This is pure talent.
I have loved this track from the first time I heard it. It is in my all-time favourites music list. Unique, human and creative, and inspirational for resilience. Perfect Des'ree, thank you.

This song never fails to put a smile on my face. Fantastic lyrics! Another artist you haven't reacted to from the same era is Tasmin Archer and her massive hit "Sleeping Satellite" - add it to your list please!
"Feel So High" by Des'ree. So close in melodies to Janet's "Got Til It's Gone" that she had to credit her on future pressings of "The Velvet Rope" album. Got Til It's Gone is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This song is a Time Machine. Everyone who lived through the 90s, when we hear this song we've quantum leaped to our mid-90s self. And you don't even want to escape.
I saw Des'ree perform live! She was opening for Seal when his 2nd album came out, mid-1990s. Didn't really see anything from her after that, which was a pity.
Back in ‘94, this was my anthem. Blasted it every morning on the way to work, to help me feel strong. It still hits my soul & I love Amber’s emotion & connection to her mom through this song. 🎵 💜 Great choice. 💜
Des'ree was big in the 90's. I have her albums. Beautiful delivery and such expression through her hand movement. She sang an increadably beautiful song in the movie, William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. "Kissing You" Yes, the one with Leonardo Di Caprio and Clare Daines. Not just for the soundtrack, she performed it in the movie.

My favorite part of this song is clearly the lyrics. It's such a feel good song. The lyrics are so perfect and even very uplifting. Great reaction for today! You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser. You gotta be hard, you gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger. You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together But most of all.... you gotta make somebody smile and you gotta give the people what they want. Right? :) Great reaction! :) I hope you guys check out PJ Harvey again and the song "Down by the Water." It's perfect for Female Friday!
Just watched a programme "The Forgotten Child Star" about Lena Zavaroni. She started her singing career aged 9 and died only 36 from anorexia and depression. She sings a song at the end called "Going Nowhere". She tends to be remembered for the songs she sang as a child and she always had a powerful voice but "Going Nowhere" shows what we lost. Please look her up from 9-36 and see what you think.

I love this song. When I was younger, I agreed with every single word she saying in the song, and it was something I did at karaoke, and I uplifted me when I sang it. But as I listen to it now, the one line that I don’t always agree with is the line where she says you can’t ever be sad. Unfortunately, sadness is part of life. I learned that lesson this year, losing my parents within four months of each other. Allow yourself to be sad, feel it and then release it. That’s what I learned now that I’m in my 50s. I love you guys, God bless you and your family.
My late wife used to sing this to our boys all the time . they were 8 when it came out. they are 38 now(twins) and they sang this at a family gathering . i was a MESS as were other who knew . i was also filled with joy because the understood the meaning. they told us all , they use to sing it to themselves when they were having a life struggle .♥ they now sing it to their children as well
This could end up being the blueprint for the perfect reaction video to a song. someday Amber will be able to give master classes on the perfect reaction videos because she wears her heart on her sleeve. She is empathetic and emotional and real and amazing.
This song and Martin Page's "In the House of Stone and Light" were always battling for the Number 1 spot on one of the Chicago radio stations I listened to in 1994. I would hear them every Saturday when I was at my local game shop playing in the weekly Magic: the Gathering Tournament. Almost makes me get a bit misty thinking about it. What great times and how nice to watch you both experience the soundtrack of our childhood.
Jay must have heard this song... I didn't listen to American Radio the entire decade of the 90s but I heard this song all the time at stores and in the mall
I was moving out on my own in 94, when this was out. I was going from the country to the big city with no job, or great masterplan, just a little savings. This whole cd was inspirational. "Living in the city" and the title track " i aint movin" also inspirational
Yeah, this is a 90's classic and it does remind me of all the strong Women who raised me and also the absent Fathers (Read the books your father read) who through death and circumstances could not be there for me. R.I.P. to them all.
I forgot all about this song! I used to let my son listen to this song, to take the lessons in it to heart. I felt like this song was speaking to me. Thx for playing it! Love Michelle :)

Jay must have heard this song... I didn't listen to American Radio the entire decade of the 90s but I heard this song all the time at stores and in the mall
Awesome 90's R&B. Takes me back to my high school days growing up in SoCal.
