Those “investigators” need to lose their badges, immediately. They aren’t mentally fit to solve crime, if they’re going to accuse an innocent child of a murder, meanwhile the real murderer is somewhere walking free. Disgusting.
Why should they lose their badges? They did their jobs. When the kid was released the judge said it did not mean he was innocent or guilty. There was insufficient evidence. The police did what they could. Everyone needs to stop with the thoughts of the police did not do their jobs correctly.
Dont underestimate the innocent child..

The evidence shows that somebody wanted her dead it wasn't her current old man that was going to marry her but it was an inside job they should have interviewed her ex old man and her siblings and her mother and her family in general.

After hearing our defence and explanation given personally to the Judges it took them 20 seconds to return a verdict of, Not Guilty! It was on the first day of our two week holiday to Corfu that we were arrested and as soon as we left court we arranged for the earliest flight back home. Relatives of Kenzie Marie Houk said her boyfriend's 11-year-old son, Jordan Brown, who is charged with fatally shooting the pregnant woman as she slept, once threatened to "pop Kenzie in the head."
Ms. Houk's brother-in-law, Jason Kraner, said Jordan had told his young son in December that he planned to shoot Ms. Houk and her two daughters, but no one believed he was capable of."(www.post-gazette.com/uncategorized/2009/02/24/Relatives-say-boy-threatened-to-pop-slain-mom/stories/200902240227). Not only that but the 7 year old testimony is very accurate. Specially when she said that she saw Jordan carry a gun covered in a blanket then heard a boom. When she asked Jordan what was that Jordan said "nothing". She also said Jordan threw something out in the driveway and they headed for the bus. And guess what happened? They found the boy's shotgun outside his room with a blanket that had a nickel sized hole in it. And in the driveway? They found a shotgun casket. That is enough evidence for me.

THE BOY IS LYING
Right I thought the same. Sense when is adding more info you remember changing your story. The girl changed her story not the boy. How ridiculous !
I’m confused who did ot
@@wayzie4329 we don't know who did it. Jordan was released with his conviction over turned. It's unfortunate he was even put in jail. The cops said he changed his story and thought he did it. Yet he didn't change his story he only added details. Kids often remember and add more Details later. He definitely didn't change his story he said he saw a truck then he added there was a man in a truck. Jordan was only 11 so you can imagine he was in shock, confused, and unaware of what was happening. His sister actually changed her story and the cops had no issue with that. However, they went after jordan over less. The girl was only 7 I think so story changing is normal and the cops could have pushed the girl to say things. Still though they didn't find who did it probably because they were so focused on jordan.
She was probably used to hearing loud bangs as they used guns a lot. A 7-year-old lying about a bang is just weird. If you think someone murdered your parent and saw people ducking in a truck, you tell them right away lol.
@@thememaster7 People of all ages will remember things that happened that never happened when you're thinking about them all the time. This story is heart breaking and terrifying. Cops still to this day will not admit that they could have screwed up.
Arrogance and pride more important than facts.
That's usually the case. Even when they exonerate someone based on DNA, many times the prosecution will not even accept the new outcome. Just pride and arrogance like you said.

And also nobody thought to check the on scene cops financial records to see any weird transactions.....
Might be onto something there... They never looked for suspects outside the small family. They did not eliminate the most obvious possibilities 100 percent. We never hear from the family of the lady or whether she had past relationships or not. Was there a Past ex? Was maybe one of them in the police department? or maybe friends and family with someone from the police department of this small rural area?? 🤔 The scope of the investigation is very limited and and shady how quickly conclusions were made. I mean geez they stopped at all the easiest stops for their proofs and went for the most basic forensics. They almost avoid talking about anything but the gun the gauge and the gunpowder "smell" when it comes to evidence. These days even 10 years ago there are a lot more and way more sophisticated technologies some that you should almost have to bring up when you don't have the evidence and why. This is a small town with a relatively small number of families within. There were a lot of circumstances that need to be looked at and they weren't.
i think the 7 year old girl hates his brother
Boy - Adds more info
Girl - Changes the whole story
Edit : Ah, I realised somethin, the youngest sibling is a pro at doing anything to get their older siblings into trouble, iTs a fACt

Rob Banks,
There is no way in hell Jordan was able to kill his stepmom without the other stepsister to also hear the gunshot herself before she and Jordan walked to the school bus together. So that leads me to believe that either Jordan’s younger stepsister who was still at home at the time or one of the workers that came to the house actually committed the murder. And if it was the younger daughter who killed her pregnant mother then she may have done it by accident while playing around with her stepbrother’s rifle, not knowing that it was indeed loaded. Or if it was one of the lawn workers, he may have wanted to burglarize the house or rape the poor pregnant woman but she tried to fight back and he just shot her in the head and killed her instantly.

Miss O.P. They don't seem to understand how memories work either. Eye witness testimonies are very fallible because memories are so easily altered. People can remember more details after thinking about something for awhile and "remember" stuff that didn't even happen if there are things that influence their memories such as hearing other people's accounts of the event. One study managed to convince people they had been lost in a mall as a child just by telling them stories about them having been lost lost in a mall. The kids memories could easily be influenced and their stories changed by how the questions were asked.

That's American police work for you. Filled with idiots, man children and domestic abusers.
There are plenty of child murderers/psychopaths, you ignoramus.
Let me list some examples.
The murder of James Bulger - James was a 2 year old boy who was lured by two 10 year olds (Robert Thompson and Jon Venables) who tortured him. They shoved batteries down his throat and inserted them into his anus before smashing his head against train tracks and leaving his body for a train to crush the following day.
The murder of Maddie Clifton - Joshua Phillips (14) murdered Maddie (8) after he accidentally hit her with a bat when they were playing. Joshua was scared of his father, and Maddie wouldn't stop crying, so he took her to his bedroom. He started to hit the same bat against her head, hoping to silence her. When that didn't work, he resorted to repeatedly stabbing her in the neck.
The Kobe Child Murders - Ayaka Yamashita (10) and Jun Hase (11) were murdered by 14 year old Shinichiro Azuma. Ayaka was beat to death with a hammer. Jun's death is a lot more gruesome. Shinichiro and Jun would play together. Jun had told him that he liked turtles, so Shinichiro told him that he knew where a group of turtles were, and he'd show them to him. Jun followed Shinichiro to a desolate spot before he was strangled to death. Shinichiro found an old warehouse and shoved Jun's body in the floorboards of it (he had initially broken the lock and stole a new one to replace the broken one). A couple days later, he had a thought whilst laying in bed that he wanted to decapitate Jun. The next day, he dug out Jun's body and beheaded him with a handsaw. He masturbated afterwards, onto the body. He cut a bit of neck off of the head, and kept it in a plastic bag. He then mutilated the head, cutting a Glasgow Smile onto it, and he used the mouth for his own sexual pleasure. He then wrote a note to the police, put it in the mouth of the head, and put the head on the gates outside of his school. He kept the piece of neck in his ceiling and wasn't discovered until months later.
The murder of James Thomas Stewart - 15 year old Morgan Leppert murdered 66 year old James Thomas Stewart so she could steal his truck and run away with her 22 year old boyfriend, Toby Lee Lowry. The beat him, stabbed him repeatedly, and suffocated him with a plastic bag. Stewart was born without hands and had breathing and health difficulties. Leppert and Lowry were found a week later.
The murder of Cecil Van Hoose - 8 year old Cecil Van Hoose was murdered by his friend, 6 year old Carl Newton Mahan. Cecil had taken a piece of metal that Carl was planning to sell, so Carl ran to his home, grabbed his father's shotgun, and killed Cecil.
Amarjeet Sada - 8 year old Amarjeet Sada murdered 3 infants, including his 6 month old sister and 9 month old cousin.
Carroll Cole - When Carroll was 8, he drowned his classmate. He grew up to murder 15+ women by strangulation.
The murder of Ronnie Greene, Jr - There's not much on this one. Nathaniel Abraham shot Greene and killed him.
The Sasebo Slashing - (In Japan, they have privacy laws against minors to protect their identity. For the Kobe Child Murders, the suspect had gotten out and released his own identity. The internet has the joke to call the perpetrator of the Sasebo slashing "Nevada Tan.") Girl A (Nevada Tan) was 11 when she murdered her classmate Satomi Mitarai, who was 12. Satomi had been reportedly harassing Girl A, so at lunch, Girl A lured Satomi into an empty classroom and stabbed her to death.
The Sasebo Schoolgirl Murder (yes, there's two) - Girl A (15) lead Aiwa Matsuo (15) to her apartment (she moved out after she beat her father with a metal bat) before murdering her and posting pictures of the crime on 2Chan. Girl A beat Aiwa with a "metal tool before strangling her to death. She later dismembered and decapitated her. Girl A told police that she "wanted to kill someone" and "bought the tools herself."
The Jonesboro Massacre - Mitchell Johnson (13) and Andrew Golden
(11) shot up their school. They killed 5 people and wounded 10 others.
The Sparks Middle School Shooting - Jose Reyes (12) opened fire on his school playground, killing a teacher (Michael Landsberry) and wounding two students (KJ Kersey and Mason Davis) before turning the gun on himself and committing suicide.
The murder of Tiffany Eunick - Lionel Tate (12) murdered Tiffany Eunick (6) when his mother was babysitting the two of them. They were left alone for about an hour. About 15 minutes into that hour, Tate's mother had called for the two of them to quiet down a bit. After the remaining 45 minutes, Tate went to his mother and said Eunick and him had been wrestling, and now she wasn't breathing. He told police he had her in a headlock and her head hit the table. This could've been ruled as an accident, if it wasn't for the fact that Eunick's autopsy reported that her brain was swollen, her skull and one of her ribs fractured, her body was covered in bruises, and her liver had been lacerated. He had been sentenced to life in prison, but the court had soon changed his sentence and he was let out 5 years later. After being let out, however, he broke probation and was found wandering with an 8-inch knife. Turns out he threatened a Domino's delivery guy with a handgun when he was at his friend's house, and after his friend wouldn't let him back inside, he beat them up.
The Murder of Craig Sorger - Sorger (13) was murdered by his two 12 year old friends Evan Drake Savoie and Jake Lee Eakin. The two invited Sorger (who was autistic) to play with them at a nearby park. Savoie asked Sorger to "feel the ground to see if it was wet" before dropping a large rock on Sorger's neck, making him fall to the ground. He then starting beating and stabbing him, Eakin following suit by beating him in the head and legs with tree limbs.

if he claims that he and his "sister" were sitting on the couch and the mother came out and told them to go so they wouldn't be late....that would mean that she was alive when both of them left the house...and if it wasn't true wouldn't the sister have said so? Love how the cops think that when Jordan’s story changes it’s an indication that he’s lying; but when the sisters story changes it’s a sudden recollection of facts and should be believed. Or, just here me out, the two were kids. What police officer in their right mind would base a murder charge off of testimonies by two horrified kids that just lost their mother.
Plus the sister was barely 5 she certainly wasn't old enough to have good memory skills.

@@deusexmachina8112 Why wouldn't the brother in law tell Jordan's father so they could intervene? It all sounds contrived and suspicious. They only talked to the Houks? What about Jordan's teachers? Classmates? Chris Brown's family? Calling him a "spoiled brat" sounds like her family didn't care for Jordan no matter what they claimed. The timeline of Jordan supposedly moving guns covered in a blanket doesn't fit logistically. And it is totally possible that the ex-boyfriend used the blanket to cover the gun and leave it behind. He could have also tossed the spent cartridges in the driveway. Jordan would have had blood all over him if he shot her. Where's the evidence of that? Why weren't ballistics done on the gun and the pellets in the wound? How about trajectory analysis to see if Jordan was even capable of the shooting angle/height? The 4 year old heard the shot AFTER Jordan and the 7 year old had left for school, and heard her mother's phone ring. Why didn't they check phone records for who called her & what time because that would establish time more clearly as well. All the evidence against Jordan is circumstantial and provided by people who clearly didn't care for him. The investigation was super sloppy at best. And her and Christopher's murderer is still free.
@@cindykaye3152 what doesn't make sense is that the ex boyfriend travel miles towards his ex house. As stated by police his car still had snow on top. That day it snowed and you know how cars look like when cover with layers of snow. There was no way he traveled with that kind of snow while driving towards his ex house to kill her. This therefore signaled that he indeed never ever traveled at all with his black truck. Empathy doesn't work in these kind of cases and only consistent prove.
@@cindykaye3152 The cops even said that they really tried to not be biased since he was just a kid. They really felt bad but they concluded that it was something that had happened. Like they say "Justice is blind" and in a way empathy in a crime doesn't prove that the guy was guilty. Remember innocent until proven guilty.
@@deusexmachina8112 No, I've seen snow stay on top of cars for miles, even days. Besides, did they show actual pictures of the vehicle with snow? What about the other inconsistencies? As for "innocent until proven guilty", Jordan was viewed as guilty from the beginning. It was as if they were obsessed with proving he did it.

@@polsdofer Yes, I've recently been called that before as well. I learned that it meant someone who values females and treats them nicely because they like them and want their company because they enjoy such. Do you prefer females who like getting disrespected and tolerate that and even more so prefer the company of males to interact with? I don't. That is why I'm nice to females and don't engage too much with males since they are of a lower overall value to me and I don't derive as much pleasure from them, starting with their appearance. So yes, it is quite simple. Now I've found there is an entire generation of people, many who I suspect are from some sorts of particular ethnic backgrounds and cultures, who are promoting this terminology widely, but it just doesn't do anything too valuable if you are able to simulate the "long math" for how the systematic abuse of women will help society at all. So yeah, those who value women and sexual attractiveness will try to be closer to those posessing whatever qualities are valued due to the pleasure they derive from such. What exactly is your strategy and how can it be justified or rationalized really? When you like something, you should make yourself amenable to it in order to both be acceptable, and to establish and maintain closeness to whatever it is you like, and also to protect and heighten the thing you like rather than being destructive towards it. So why buy into this "simp, simp" business? Its just parrotting that young people with deficient thoughts or strong personalities of their own may be using as a short cut, and that may also be due to the foreign backgrounds I suspect creating a language deficiency which makes these easier things to say simply more appealing than exposing a lack of language skills or intelligence or whatever it might be that such things mask. The boy didn't change his story. He remembered a new detail. It happens. Some witnesses recall new details weeks later. There's nothing suspicious about it. That's how the memory works sometimes. The boy's core story stayed the same. He saw a black truck in the driveway. The girl, however, completely changed her story. How do you forget something as out of place as what she self identified as a gunshot in the house? I believe her first story was the truth. The police made up their mind in 24 hours and gave leading questions to the girl. Personally, I think it's very plausible that the killer didn't bring a weapon because they knew the family well enough to know there would be access to guns. The child rifle doesn't mean only a child can use it. It could be used because it's easily accessible and can be concealed more or less behind an adult's body. They didn't investigate or eliminate any other possibilities.

The problem with interviewing children is that they tend to embellish and add things to their stories with each subsequent interview. They want to please the interrogator with any information that gets a positive reaction. He had residue on his clothing, the only weapon that had been used that morning was the youth sized shotgun, and there was a shell casing on the way to the bus stop that the boy walks to every morning.
The killer was found and released, that's the sad part.
@@Zer0Mood but here’s my point the boy said there was a person in a black truck. What if this person after killing the mom put the shotgun shell there so he would be framed. Also it’s stupid that they listed to the little girl change her story but not the boy. To me that does not seem far.
@@Zer0Mood those shotgun shells were never connected to the gun, and the cops were not trained to study gun powder residue.
Plot.twist it was the 7 year old girl all along.
Or the 4 year old
@@rocky4995-c6u the girl seems more suspicious to me.
MrChris7582 she changed her story, he didn’t.
@@randomgamer9769 exactly!
plot twist: it was the fetus in the mother
Also wait, so when the son recalls new details it’s suspicious but when the daughter recalls new details it’s evidence?
I think these investigators didn’t know how to do their job so they accused a poorly innocent child when they were at school ridiculous
they ruined his childhood, srsly, i can't get over that fact :( 7 years in juvenile for something he didn't commit, this is such a tragedy and someone needs to pay for this
The cop's and prosecutor should go to jail
he didn’t do it?
So wait he changes his story and gets arrested but the lil girl changes and nothing happens to her. Soo sue the hell out of the district.
W C. She added something. Something she had forgotten from her first interview. Jordan changed the description of the truck he “saw” It’s two completely different scenarios.
The whole thing is a mess.
@@IraqiPrincess92 no, the truck was the same. He only added that he remembered someone being inside the truck. Would that not be considered additional information?
tbh id say the change in his story is a lot more believable than the little girls. She may have falsely remembered a scene like that after having to think about that day over and over. Maybe she mixed up her imagination with reality, which is something common under pressure. She would have mentioned the gunshots the first time. And maybe the same thing happened with the boy.
Neb Yeah you’re right. Depends how you look at it. But only one of those kids have gun powder residue on their clothes and it isn’t the little girl.
@@IraqiPrincess92 Though I recall reading somewhere that the kid and his dad went to a range or something a day or two prior, could be he just hadnt washed those clothes. Of course I don't know what the truth is. It just seemed like a poorly handled situation overall. All I have is my own opinion
People get nervous and don't always remember every single detail about things. Cops need to take that into consideration when Jordan changed his story.
Having worked with children for over 14 years I know from experience that childrens stories change the more adults ask them questions ...this isn't because they are deliberately lying .It happens because when children become aware that the answer they are providing to an adult is deemed unsatisfactory (even when its true) they will change the story to please the adult or to meet that adults expectations ! We must always be mindful of the serious balance of power between an adult and a child (something the child is only too aware of ,but which adults often forget) If that adult is also a Police Officer the power gap is even bigger !...Maybe Police need a course in Child Development before they are put in the position of judging and questioning a child ! This case is so upsetting ! A child changing their story is NOT the same as when an adult does ! However the bias in this story is chilling. The police are thrilled when Janessa changes her story and adds details and prefer her new version of events but when Jordan changes his story and adds details the SAME police view the same behasviour as incriminating and sinister and proof he comitted murder !
Not to admit how much your brain goofs on your memory, let alone children who are working their way up different brain wave functions
Your subconscious is like 90%+ in control, and your memory is a story you’ve convinced yourself of, not saying it’s always unreliable but even an adult with a strong memory could leave out major details due to stress or negligence of their impact. As well as the power gap you spoke of. I feel that intensely, I’ve had my license suspended for speeding attentively but those same people brave enough to ruin my life won’t risk theirs for kids, let alone another adult.
No offense but the police need less power, your neighbor is more likely to have your back and seek the truth, your neighbor is also more likely to run and save your kid from danger
I’d risk my life for a 12 year old Chihuahua to live another month, these normal ass dudes with an egghead ego and more of a will to live than a Waterbear don’t even deserve a hand shake. They deserve to be fired… at…
I get once you have kids you care about living. So either quit or don’t have kids, you don’t get to be the Quarterback and watch every game from the bench.
They just didn’t like the boy,I guess.Because WHY??? Why do this?
@@Khloe_dancer_model sadly the priority the Police take in solving a case often takes priority over the facts...It was easy for the Police (adults) to pressure Jordan (a child) into changing his story to fit the outcome that made things easy for the Police to resolve the case. Tragically it is that simple !
