Totally agree ... he goes into important tech details. I watched a Beneteau review from someone else - where they spent way to much time on the color of the flooring and the stylish cushions!
I keep coming back to this video whenever I feel depressed. Although the boat I don't like inside, this boat under sail looks like a dream. This is the boat I love.
Most reviewers of boats, cars and motorcycles give raving reviews to anything - indcluding stuff they would not be seen dead in themselves. Honest reviews are rare. Most of the time the journalists are just happy to have been given access......
If that guy was doing reviews on his own, and I had to pay, I would totally suscribe. He should start a patreon or something. Probably the most unbiased tester I have seen and heard. Anyone knows his background/name?

Chris Beeson. Awesome dude. Don't think he does reviews any longer though.
@Hare Brahs LOOL I was wondering about where he got his knowledge from. Also I was trying to find more content that he would have produced. That was 4 years ago for my post so yes, I found more, very cool chap.
x*RedEyeOfJupiter* you can buy a perfectly fine sailboat for very little money. We bought our first boat for $5000 and if we had wanted to, it would have taken us around the world.
+Andreas Duess Thanks for the Encouragement. I Do Appreciate it. It Would be Wonderful to have a True Chance at Something So Beautiful for Such a price. For me However $5k might as well be $50k. *Bright Side is : If The Zombies ever take over I'm just Gonna Go.
Yeah this guy does the very best reviews crisp and to the point... the analysis at the end... "who fits the boat segment even..... just great presentation. Don't know who the presenter is but top drawer for sure.
These reviews are incredible and this guy is one of the best at staying at the punch. My only complaint is that the audio in the video needs "EQ" work. His breathing is as loud as his talking because of the high end and screetchy mids blasting in the audio. 2 thumbs up for a great video though
the first impression i get from these nordic manufactures is that its built for a slightly colder climate.. its not going to turn into a damp cave just because it gets a little chilly. making them very comfortable cruisers early and late in the year.
living in New England I'm on the correct latitude for you reviews and enjoy those comfort reviews. When my wallet fills with cash I'll consider this to move up from my bullet proof Catalina 34 or stop googlig at my neighbors J Boat. We've always been into speed .
Dear Yachting Monthly Your Australian digital subscription on Zinio is a rip off. Thought you should know it's 3 times the UK price. Have cancelled. Cheers
I really like some of the stowage touches: a spot for the washboards, a counter that fits over the stove, and the hinged seats in the salon to access the storage below. I think a traveler would be a nice add-on.
How much is the average boat slip fee for a 37' to 45' foot boat I wonder. I know they must vary, and... If I could afford a boat, why should I be concerned about the fee of a slip? I'm just curious. And I imagine that a catamaran would cost more. Cheers. (Good show!)
An adequate review thanks. Understandable with sufficient detail and well worth listening to. It might help if you give a few pointers to that Toby guy
I live in the west coast united states, what is the price rang of getting over here. do you have a dealer or broker on upper north west coast? cold environment ruff waters here does work well here? do I get a discount if I fly there?
He made a reference that it isn't a good Caribbean sailing boat. That it is more suited for northern latitudes. Why? What is the difference between the two?
In general, boats designed for the northern climes are designed with the idea that it’s too cold or rainy to stay outside for too long (they often have deckhouses or pilothouses, also good insulation and heating and nice saloon, locker for drying wet clothing, often deep protected cockpits because you don’t want to fall in cold water, which also means that acces to the water is often not easy, no one wants to go swimming in the cold water or eat outside everyday) Boats designed for the med or the tropics or warmer places are designed with the idea that people want to be outside most of the time (so big cockpits with big tables to eat outside, good access to the water thru sugar scoops or swimming platforms, insulation and heating are less relevant than good ventilation because it can get hot inside the boat)
Great boat but definitely could use some changes: - The locker doors needs slots or vents. If you have ever sailed in the tropics you would understand. Vents should be used throughout the boat. - Yes adding fixed ports to the vberth is a great idea. The more light the better - No mention of the headroom height in the main salon or the vberth. This is an important factor for boat owners. - I probably would not locate any of my electronics in the sail lockers. Much better to place the in the main cabin. - A review of the systems is very light and is important to boat owners - I would have all opening ports in the main cabin and vberth for better cross venilation. I realize the customers Malo is targeting but with climate change the need for air below is becoming more important - I like the use of the arch for the main traveler an initial Hunter design and the ability to close this area off as a full enclosure - The quality of the build is exceptional - The woodwork around the galley is not a good idea. After a few years of use it will become a problem from the water and cooking activities. Better to go with a composite. - I never understood the need to keep the head so small. I would rather eliminate the use of the nav station and use the main salon table as a nav area and double the size of the head. Just my perspective. Others may agree... Great boat!
jb hann She is to hot! Not enough ventilation. look at all openings on Morgan Out Island for comparison. However new tech like cool teak and Nipon Marine Heat Reflecting Paint may be changing everything.
Pretty much any sailboat will have an engine. Very small sailboats don't have motors but we are talking very small, like something 2 people can carry to the beach to launch. Those can get away without a motor but Even little 16 or 18 foot boats with a cuddy cabin have a little 5HP outboard or something. At about 25 to 27 feet they start using little inboard diesel engines & the bigger the boat, or course, the bigger the engine.
same for me to, well done video not with BS music, strait to the facts. I also like where you talked about the forward birth that they might put in port holes. sound good on that Idea.
It could be great to manage crash test for boat from 30' or cathegorie A, and test in F10/F11.For all Europeen yatch per exemple, it would be a great help to choose and compare. Because if this boat is solid as an HR36 made in 1988 and she can get Wind to 90Knts with extrem see, so, price is Always to much but OK, Ugly but vey strong and your best friend in rude conditions… But if she is a cost boat for Week ends, I find price for 34' exageretated. So please, be comprehensive about construction to explain why she is so expansive.Maybe there is some technical reasons very important we Don't know….. I say that because you organised crash test and you can understand what I mean. In a perfect word sails boat construction depend on the same laws as automobile or trucks.. Thank's to your team for your very good job.
Very good design for heavy whether ,Malo37 , presents a cockpit very large .Force 7 with all sails it give speeds about 6/7 Kns and there is fantastic! Inside ,the galey is not to muche big but essencial for a good navegation.Big Chart Table gives good conditions for a good navegation .Nice and big saloon with batherooms foroward and aft .Conclusion : nice and well finish comfortable and good in heavy wether. God for 2 people crew. Price: Expensive but have all was good for a new boat! POSITIVE
English is my mother tongue and I find it hard to understand what you’re saying. You mumble. As if you’re rehearsing your lines for the words but without any projection. As for sailing information, what kind of keel? Rudder? Engine? Jesus.
no main traveller, which can be set to protect rigging from boom in accidental gybes when running.means no running rigginghm not impressednot buying it.
This gentleman has so many good and down to earth reviews. Not marketing oriented as most. I wish he was still around.
I wish you would teach all the other boating magazines how to do thorough reviews. The best Thumbsup
YES! I love how his reviews are technical details that sailors need to know and not sound like a sales pitch/catalogue
This fellow gives the best reviews, he could do with his on show/channel on youtube.
+James Smith I wish he did it, but I think he doesn't do any reviews any more... They don't have very new ones
+James Smith He does, very fair and kinda the sort of person if nothing good to say, he says nothing.

why dont you like the inside?

He is still streets ahead of all other yacht reviewers...
I miss this dude.

Watching this guy's review is very enjoyable to say the least. Great reviews. Anybody know where he disappeared to? What is he doing nowadays?

Wow, best boat walk through and review I've ever seen! Love the stats at the end. Really gives you a feel for how the boat performed.
Come on Yachting Monthly, give us the Rustler 37 and 42.
the first impression i get from these nordic manufactures is that its built for a slightly colder climate.. its not going to turn into a damp cave just because it gets a little chilly. making them very comfortable cruisers early and late in the year.

Very nice. Real good design. Just love it.
I enjoy all your reviews. You certainly know your subject matter well.
Thank you
It seems like an honest review of this boat.
If you were buying him well you got a great almost constant view but would have preferred the camera actually to be filming the boat.
Dear Yachting Monthly Your Australian digital subscription on Zinio is a rip off. Thought you should know it's 3 times the UK price. Have cancelled. Cheers

I think a traveler would be a nice add-on.
Looks like a lovely boat.
Hola...¿que tantas diferencias hay con un Nauticat 385?
Indeed an excellent presenter
Jako lijepa jedrilica!😊😊😊😊
1:00 How does the chain locker not become flooded beating into high seas? Is there heavy reliance on a bulge pump? Could use a bit more clarity there.
I saw drain holes on both sides of the forward hull.
Do you recommend this boat to travel the world alone?
How much is the average boat slip fee for a 37' to 45' foot boat I wonder. I know they must vary, and... If I could afford a boat, why should I be concerned about the fee of a slip?
I'm just curious.
And I imagine that a catamaran would cost more.
Cheers. (Good show!)
My son just said "Dad who are those old lady's" crazy how fast time moves!
Fantastically clear and succinct.
Beautiful boat, would be a nice upgrade, though personally would have preferred a center cockpit option.
with the classic version, it sort of becomes a center cockpit.
An adequate review thanks. Understandable with sufficient detail and well worth listening to. It might help if you give a few pointers to that Toby guy
Yeah, Toby. How did he get his job?
Lovely boat
wish this guy could review the rustler 37? he does the best reviews
+pgreenx Seconded.
Did he say no traveler for the boom? Just the block then.
I love the reviews keep them coming
I live in the west coast united states, what is the price rang of getting over here. do you have a dealer or broker on upper north west coast? cold environment ruff waters here does work well here? do I get a discount if I fly there?
MrCbass1234 why would a boat builder give you a discount to pick up a boat?
Very nice video. Music at the intro was a little long, and got a bit fatiguing. Otherwise outstanding.
??? What are you showing the boat or the dude?
The dude is showing the boat.
inside layout looks exactly like elan 362. is that just a coincidence?
He made a reference that it isn't a good Caribbean sailing boat. That it is more suited for northern latitudes. Why? What is the difference between the two?

Great Review! Really like that anchor roller, woodwork, engine and battery access! When you give base price- is that Euros or Pounds!
Just because something like the anchor roller is clever doesn't make it useful. Does it really work?
The Malo 37 strongly reminds me of the Pacific Seacraft 37 of several years ago.
What’s the song at the beginning?
Strange how the teak in cockpit and on deck has different color. Review boats are typically brand new...
Great boat but definitely could use some changes:
- The locker doors needs slots or vents. If you have ever sailed in the tropics you would understand. Vents should be used throughout the boat.
- Yes adding fixed ports to the vberth is a great idea. The more light the better
- No mention of the headroom height in the main salon or the vberth. This is an important factor for boat owners.

Great boat!
It’s a semi custom boat…if you order one, they will do all those changes for ya…the guy who ordered the boat in the vid wanted it that way.
Which Murray brother is he?
Why did Chris say that, this boat is not all that great in warmer climates, as there's better options? Why is that?
Air circulation down below not a priority.
jb hann She is to hot! Not enough ventilation. look at all openings on Morgan Out Island for comparison. However new tech like cool teak and Nipon Marine Heat Reflecting Paint may be changing everything.
Does this boat hav engine on it? I dunno how to sail a sail boat.
+OokTiaopi yes, it will have one for getting in and out of port or when no wind.
+connor25
Don't forget motor sailing when the currents aren't cooperative either.
Pretty much any sailboat will have an engine. Very small sailboats don't have motors but we are talking very small, like something 2 people can carry to the beach to launch. yes, it has a motor, but the larger issue that no one has spoke to
if you don't know how to sail, a sailboat isn't for you
What aspects make it a northern climate boat?
Guess I am the only one that is curious about the music being played.
Link maybe?
nice
..I like this Malo and I truly miss the review guy...
Мне на такую яхту 83 года копить придется при зарплате 20 тысяч рублей. Яхта прекрасная, на такой можно ходить и по Тихому океану.
it’ll be 83 years till your even allowed to buy one now 😂🇺🇦
Well watched... Calm winds and following seas...
Wow, what a dark boat!
beautiful
Great Review!
Thank you very much
She looks like a Blue water cruiser as well.
300k ,£ sounds like a very good price
it looks and sounds cold there.
Very good, Sir !!!
Excellent review!
I like this guy
he's filmed himself, does not show aft cabin..
same for me to, well done video not with BS music, strait to the facts. I also like where you talked about the forward birth that they might put in port holes. sound good on that Idea.
Inside has to much wood and the fabric on saloon cushion yuck, bring in an Italian designer and that would help. Good but not great, what's it cost?
Best reviews
No traveler? Wonder why..always 1st place I go to de-power the main.
Nice well found safe yachts Malo`s

Eric pacific sea raft 37
Very nice boat! Too bad it's $300K+. Big price for a 37.
I just herd the price at the end of the video. pounds over their and dollars over here.
Well equipeded for one person crew! Good in heavy whether
On a 37 foot boat...
A 6' person should not have to duck in the cockpit...
Who missed something like that?????
the man is just promoting himself. instead of seeing the beds in the cabins, we see this man.
Thanks for your job. From Ukraine.
gostei, qual preço $$$$... Brasil -Rio de Janeiro. Henrique.
Good for Northern latitudes and you don’t discuss any heat.
320 000 what? Euros?
Pounds sterling. He says it towards the end.
Money no object, no rainforest spared ; that's the sort of boat she is.
It's Malö ;)

english aint my mudatung but i understand him fine
We owned a 2006 Malo 43 Classic. This review is decidedly lame. Does he work for Hallberg-Rassy?
That sound track started to give me grand mal seizures.
Godne polecenia polskim szkutnikom !
he needs to learn how to best sail her for sure.
I’ll learn this language one day
what fun.
insanely expensive
Could someone translate this to English? Thanks. :-)

300k that must be a joke doesn't worth more that 20k.

Even in your fantasy land you're too poor to afford this.

No traveler, WTF!
