Yacht Controller wireless remote in action on Motoryacht OLOH. Read the complete story and see more video and pictures at myoloh.com/projects/oloh-gear-...
Frank - our steering is hydraulic. If you meant what type of remote control for steering, we have a wired remote for our Simrad autopilot (and obviously the Yacht Controller remote for gears and thrusters).
Our Yacht Controller engages the gears and thrusters by momentary contact so no throttle or variable speed is applicable. We do have a variable speed stern thruster but the remote just switches it on and off at maximum thrust which works for us. They do now offer a system with incremental throttle control.
Hi Carol. Yacht Controller does not have a station keeping feature (commonly known as Dynamic Positioning System or DPS). While DPS is available from other companies after-market, OLOH is not a candidate for that technology as she has electric thrusters which would not be able to keep up with the demand - it is typically fitted on boats with pods or hydraulic thrusters. Our las boat had pod drives with Skyhook and it was exceptional. Definitely something we do wish we were able to have.
That yacht controller is awesome, makes manoeuvring in close quarters so much easier ;-)
It's one of the best tools in our toolbox for sure! We've got a good writeup on it at myoloh.com/projects/oloh-gear-yacht-controller
The Yacht Controller is so nice if when we get a yacht that will be a must. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Ron. It's nice to add gear to the mix that works exactly as you expect it to while enhancing the experience.
A genuine pleasure to watch.
Thanks!
Well watch them all now looking forward to the next
That's a handy doohickey. Makes parking easier. I don't have a boat yet, but I want one of those on it.
The remote is a nice addition.
2 things my yacht(when that happens) will have are the yacht controller and seakeeper.
It’s also nice to have a Boston whaler as a dingy
We love it!
What kind of control steering do you have and the type of remote control

Descent. Are there limits by speed that controller works at or any other?

Does it have the GPS stay put option...virtual anchor/skyhook type ?
