Seems like a reasonably accurate method since you can reproduce your results. Only thing I don’t like about the Bluetooth devices is that you’re reliant on the company to update their iOS app as apple updates. If they go out of business or want you to buy new hardware you’re screwed.

Instead of turning it off and on manually, put a timer at the receptacle before the power cord, to do it on its own. But looks like a lot of research and work, but good job. Hope it all works out for you.

I’ve been looking at controllers for this thing. I was about to buy the Honeywell TrueIAQ controller. Then I could set up a timer for 7 days. They discontinued it in April ‘21. They have some other options I’m looking at also.
Putting a timer in the plug is a good idea. I might look into those.

@@BrantleyBlended I have one timer controlling my circulation pump on my water heater. Works great simple and inexpensive. Home Depot or Lowe’s.

Couldn't it just be ran continuously at a lower CFM?

Quick question...I have the same Honeywell ERV. When in continuous mode, per the manual, the ERV runs at 50% of the maximum level you have it balanced for . It only goes to maximum flow when an EXTERNAL controller calls for maximum flow...SO IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THIS BEAST RUN AT MAXIMUM FLOW ALL THE TIME/CONTINOUS WITHOUT AN EXTERNAL CONTROLLER??? Otherwise, you're only getting 50% Vof teh benefit from the ERV....LMK

I do not know, but I am interested. I wish this thing was moving more air around my house.

You should be calculating your ventilation rate based on the ASHRAE 62.2 standards so you know you are receiving adequate ventilatian. Depending on your climate zone and outdoor conditions, you can increase the humidity in the home while running the ERV since the ERV cannot remove all of the moisture from the incoming air stream. The ERV is much better than bringing in raw fresh air but will still increase the humidity in the home in certain cases. ERVs also usually lose efficiency at higher CFM so you would be doing more harm than good by running at max CFM. But to answer your question, you may be able to connect a jumper on your control terminal to make the ERV boost without an extrenal control. Its best to consult your installation manual before testing anything like that.
