    Overthinking is my ultimate talent. Currently I’m overthinking and paranoid about pursuing a career in UX. What if I fail? What if I don’t get a job? What if the boot camp isn’t for me?? 😭

    • @mimimichi
      @mimimichi  2 роки тому +15

      Totally know how you feel and you're not alone! I had the same feelings too. At the end of the day, you have to trust yourself !

    • @diddyboom
      @diddyboom 2 роки тому +14

      The first thing to do is to accept failure as a possibility. You may fail, not get a job or the bootcamp is the wrong one - but that should not be the end. You have to be comfortable with losing sometimes but still be able to get up, dirt off your shoulder and look for the next opportunity. Never depend on one bootcamp, job opportunity or luck to do the trick.

      OMG! Me too! People often say that I am very efficient. They just don't know that because I am lazy, I have to come up with the best way to do things so that I don't have to do it again or mess it up 😂.

    This video is super helpful. I've been deciding between psychology and design now for a while but ux design seems to be the best of both worlds where I can help people and use my empathy but do it in a creative way, I also overthink everything 😂😅

    i came from your '5 things i hate about being a UX designer' video and was doubting transitioning into this role because of the debate & meetings part, but after watching this video, i thought the pros def outweighed the cons (i love psych and being empathetic too, don't enjoy overthinking too much but it comes naturally so.. it's cool to know we can get paid to overthink HAHA) ty for the video!

    This video was too spot-on for me, from the point about overthinking to the random note about doing track and XC because of the pressure of being on a team. Felt like I was being called out! I watched many helpful videos, but this one connected with me the most personality wise, and now I feel a lot more comfortable pursuing this career!

    I do have a fewww qualms though that I feel are holding me back from taking the first steps into UXD. When you first started your journey into UXD, did you ever feel scared to fail, or not feel “cut out” or “good enough” for that line of work? if so, how did you get over those fears/anxieties?

    It's like watching a spirit twin! Thank you for this. I'm so scared of UX because I overthink EVERYTHING. No one around me understands that the struggle really is real in that way. I was afraid of being intimidated to have to communicate so much with other people because I'm so introverted and hate conflict. You give me hope in my potential future in this field. Thank you!!!!!😃

    Hi Mimi! I am currently discerning if I should transition from home improvement retail sales (flooring currently) to UX Design. I've only done preliminary research so far, but the field intrigues me. Some of it reminds me of when I was creating cabinet layouts on CAD for kitchens at Lowe's. It was something different every time. Different room layouts, different needs, different budgets, different design styles, and being able to make something tangible that a client can see and will have a positive impact. I miss doing something like that without worrying about trying to close a sale. That's part of why I want to leave sales; the thrill of closing the deal just isn't there anymore. I'm still going through your videos, but I'd appreciate any additional insight you can provide is most welcome.
