Name: Port Sparrow
Lore Idea: Port Sparrow was founded as a trading hub for colonial fur trade in the early 1700s to make profit acting as a middle man for the Northern fur trappers and the British merchants.
The town, no longer needing to fulfill its role as a river trading hhub in the 1800s was heavily affected by the industrial revolution, with factories taking over many areas of the town with factories and heavily increasing the population. However in 1879 a fire destroyed nearly half of the city, and many residents moved to nearby towns of New Belfast & New Windsor, & the town didnt see much growth until WWI where it's factories saw use creating military uniforms

You should make a snowplow depot type thing. It may be autumn but winter is coming and winter in New England requires snowplows. Also a schoolbus lot for New Windsor Public Schools would be cool

Those things on the rivers are called weirs, I think you can use the terraforming network to raise the terrain up in the middle and down on both sides of the network, with some surface painter for concrete texture. (Down Stream _ ^ - Upstream : Level Diagram of Weir).
i made some names for the new town, there 're all inspired by northeast cities, and towns matching with your current theme.

You should definitely name it after some founding father, like Hamilton or Franklin
I have a few ideas for names:
• Romeo River - Named after the river it sits on.
• Lawrence Hills
• Elizabeth's Landing
Name idea: Perrisauket, named for a fictional native tribe/settlement that the town was built upon. New England is full of native-sounding town names so I think it fits.

A suggestion for the name: Johnson Mill, Brickston or Oxford. The city looks beautiful however, very nice job
If you want to make the city a little more gritty maybe add a big abandoned building. I'm not sure how common it is in New England but a big abandoned train station might look cool, like Central Station in Detroit for instance

Name: Kennedy Mills
During the Great Depression, water bills were hard to pay with the economy. In the face of the crisis, the Township of New Windsor technically bought the river, and got all the water to themselves. This side of the river was not bought by the township yet, and a man named Kennedy made a treaty with the township to share water equally. In celebration, the folk created a mill in his name and it still lives on (even though this town is New Windsor land)
City/Town Name: Crab-Towns-Ville!! Don't forget hospitals, firestations, policestations and so on and all the social amenities! Maybe a retirement home for the elderly folks! Nice job creating these post realistic cities!!
31:11 This is probably the most New England thing about this series, a rusty old industrial bridge being used as a thoroughfare between the highway and New Belfast lol

suggestions for new windsor(whole map) - look up the BIG E. huge carnival focused on new england. Hazard ave in enfield ct. best spot in front of hazardville united methodist church. powder hollow mill in enfield ct. ashland new hamshire(downtown).
I noticed that you placed a Food Lion Supermarket, it would be cool if you instead got someone to make a Hannaford Supermarket since they are actually the New England Version of Food Lion.
I think it would be cool to name the town after a historical figure from New England. Maybe the Town of Emerson or Webster. You could also stick with that theme when making your university hospital and call it the Clara Barton School of Medicine.

I think that Nathanial McGillicuddy, one of the earliest settlers in Birmningham, is said to have taken the name from his home town, just as so many others did, but by adding the “New” before the names of their home towns (such as New Windsor and New Belfast), but he was determined to make his new homestead into his home, and home, after all, was Birmingham, England. So, no “New” before the name. This will be Birmingham, not New Birmingham.
Call it Morrisville or Morris township or like Williamstown like something common or basic
Just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to give custom building a try. I have 520 hours playing with min mods and zoning. I just started a new city doing all custom plopping I find it so much more fun making a detailed city than a huge zoned city.
Hey Pres, if you ever make another big mill district, you should add something like the Hadley Falls Company Housing District in Holyoke, MA. I think it would be a fun and interesting side project and I feel like you could even do that somewhere else too.
Since your train station isn't working properly, if, or when you'll fix it, you could at the same time add a railyard, you'll lose some space around the station but it will look realistic, right now it looks like a train station put in the middle of the city, not a realistic train station (for a city this size) :/
But the rest of the city is awesome ! I binged the 2/3 of it in three or four days and my time hasn't been wasted !!

For that small weir I would use terraforming network by Ronyx. Two terraforming networks close to each other one slightly higher than the other one. Problem is that weirs in real life are usually about 1-2m height difference and I'm affraid it is not much for CSL to make it even visible. I think you need at least 3-5m difference.
Never tried this in CSL but maybe it will work if you use something which can block water (e.g. ploppable rocks) and it will force water to "spill over". If you also put there another water spawn point it could create the desired effect. Maybe using any seawall network from the workshop which could be sunken into the ground and they also block water. It all depends on how to create "artifitial stair" in the water :)
I have never been too but I have heard about, looked at Google-maps, and learned that this abandoned hospital which was pretty much the entire island was an old TB hospital that is now obviously run down, left to the elements of the natural world, and is believed to be haunted and is therefore spooky; in fact it is in the New York City area and what an addition that would make placing a creepy old run down and very haunted, and scary place that no one uses anymore. Heck an old run down abandoned prison or mental hospital which would make a popular Halloween tourist destination especially for teenagers and ghost hunters alike. You got the elements for it to do such a project as the setting is in the Fall season so maybe why not.

I know you apready have a few schools in the city but if you at any point consider adding another id suggest looking at pinkerton academy in new hampshire for some inspo. Its a massive highschool campus of brick buildings that has a really new england feel to it

you should have a town inspired by 18th century colonial houses with modern houses mixed in to create another historical district, or old colonial houses on the outskirts of the city where they have large fields that resemble farmland.
Duxbury, Massachusetts would be a great town to get some more inspiration from!
How do you stop growable buildings from growing because I am using some of your New Windsor assets and when they upgrade they look all futuristic

I'd call the new town New Derry, Derry, Londonderry, or Cardiff.
Just an idea, if your city is based off of Providence, Rhode Island then the rail line running through it should be electric since Amtrak's northeast corridor is the rail line that serves that city.
Just a cool idea since it’s a bit hilly. Call it Brighton Hills or Windsor Heights.
The plane sounds fit because even with no airport it does not mean planes do not fly over. It makes it more realistic

Name: Rock River
Lore: Rock River was founded on the Rock River in the 1800s. It was home to many factories that produced households products like appliances and cleaning supplies. The River also produced a huge amount of fish. When the Great Depression hit the small town, many of the factories closed their doors for good. Now days, since the stock market has gone up, many of the factories are coming out of the dark and a lot of developments are taking place in Rock River!

This detailed tour of your map was so cool, that's an other point of view of New Belfast and that looks sweet !

For the dam, could you fully dam the river and then add a water source on the lower side? Not sure if it would work.

It is the name of a small town just outside of Portland, Maine and I think it would fit perfectly with the location of your small town within New Windsor.

Looking good and very New Englandy! Although you lost a couple of verisimilitude points when you placed a Food Lion... they're def not this far north. Maybe a Stop & Shop, Price Chopper, Big Y, Market Basket, Hannafords.. I haven't checked the workshop lately. Enjoying your work!
