Note for Wendell... I agree that finding the common basis for discussion is a key issue. Why don't you just bring a Tympany (orchestral instrument) to these events to establish a starting point....
Hello Adrian, Wendell and Galina. Im very impressed with seeing these very goals attempted by a respected industry developer. Improvements to audio reproduction began at age 5. Father was an engineer with Audio Research way back when and taught his son to properly disassemble electronics to perform repairs and upgrades. I'm now a full time audio engineer and spent the past 2 years working to develop advanced bass delivery technologies being one of the major focuses. Currently in the processes toward launching a brand name company in HiFi and Emergency communication systems. My scientific approach to realistic sound reproduction is unlike any other industry developer. Thanks to my mentor Don Wells, the man who perfected Sensurround for commercial use. I've been entrusted to further develop upon his unreleased technologies. Don Wells was a master with developing speaker output to operate in precision cooperation with natural environmental elements and forces. I look very forward to visiting Audio Excellence with Robert. He was among the panel of guests. Would also love the opportunity to share my upcoming M1 model speakers for opinions from the seasoned Pro's of the industry. Sincerely Chad
Where’s the new triangle shaped bass woofer here’s my suggestion. Fix the small amount of distortion. More mid bass and sell a woofer panel . Quit trying to protect the monster panel sales. Let us buy it in pieces .
@@snomofilms There are various ways to get permission to use copyrighted music to play in UA-cam videos. It is usually up to the UA-camr to get permission. If you play an entire song, is that "short use as a background"? There is also free music that can be played, although probably not suitable for a high-fi channel.
This is a dumb video. There's nothing here. What's bass? Really? And so what if the ML require a cabinet with woofers. What's important is how cohesive the entire package is and how optimum sound is delivered.
I’m bored with Magnapan’s marketing. Partially Develop something to correct a failure in current lineup.lock up a group of older audiophile Maggie worshipers in a prepared room to gush about a product that there is no sound sample to, don’t show product, don’t provide insight into cost at current time. Move on. If you play these “demos back to back” they are indistinguishable from each other, and often never go into production. I am a long term Maggie owner!
Panel speakers have certain weaknesses by definition. They can't produce powerful deep bass, for example, unless the panel is huge. This is not a failure, just physics. This prototype woofer system is one of the first I have experienced that can blend virtually seamlessly with the panel. Re cost, until they go into production, they won't have final numbers. But I do agree that the company can do a better job of releasing products that focus groups appear to like.
the flip side of this is that when they introduced the LRS which I purchased full blown retail for 700 - they blew every other speaker out of the water at that price point and were call the " deal of the century " by both the Absolute Sound and Stereophile magazines
So cool !!! Well done Adrian and team !!! Can't wait till it becomes a real product. Hopefully at LRS prices !
So is it like most maggie setups where it has to be high db to make lows and will it be 5 more years before Magnepan can scale it?

So basically the consensus is that the ML’s are clearer up top but the bass on the Maggies has better extension?

Is the magnepan woofer the prototype ?
I believe they are planning to go into production at some point
Amazing how often Wendell doest show product! Like it’s still in prototype stage.

I hate UA-cam and their copyright BS. Makes audio channels very watered down. So stupid.
I don't think that UA-cam created the music copyright laws.
@@Mark-rw3kw no, but they could certainly strike a deal with those who own them to allow for short use as background in a video 🤷♂️

Nothing to see here folks. Do subs & crossover the right audio way, $10k.
Rel Carbon Specials & JLA CR-1 😊

"that there is no sound sample to" - did you not hear the kodo?
