Dr. M have you had opportunity to compare mp200 vs a mp500? Very nice recording, the 200 sounds sublime when the bass kicks in. I'm looking at Nagaoka. Can't decide where my ears are going to find a worthwhile difference between 110, 150, 200? Go all the way with 500?
David K I hope all is well, I never listened to the mp500. I started with the mp110 which is phenomenal and upgraded to the mp200 because I heard more refinement and more air around instruments over the mp110. I also heard a lot of good things about the Hanna which I am planning to try soon hopefully. My recommendation is to start with the mp200 and move up from there. Thanks Daniel
I think I have a similar project turntable with the exact same arm (Project evolution 9cc). I Just bought a Nagaoka MP200 online but later realised I never researched if it will match with my Tonearm. How does it sound? is it a good match compliance wise? Because I have read people saying it fits better to mid-heavy tonearm but the project 9cc is super light at only 8g...Many thanks in advance.
Hello, I had no problem with the tonearm at that time bur since then, I upgraded to VPI turntable and i can tell you for sure it is a better match with VPI med to heavy tonearm.
Hi Daniel, Can you compare this MP-200 with MP-110 or 150 ? Is it really heavy step forward? And what about IGD, tracks grooves at the end of side nice or with distortion?
Mark Falconer Hello Mark, the biggest difference for me is the refinement of the high frequencies. I also noticed the bass becoming deeper not more but deeper. So far no IGD and i am define itely keeping the 110 because it seems a lot easier on old and used records. I highly recommend the MP-200. I hope that help.
Hello Daniel, nice to read your comments. IGD is one thing that I want to avoind. As I know, MP-110 is a bonded stylus tip but MP-150 and higher is already nude stylus and should be more lighter, faster and should fight better with IGD. I have an Grado Green1 which has a nice sound but tracking is now on my system not so good, IGD is also hearable. I want to skip to Nagaoka just I'm not sure if MP-110 will solve that issues better.
Mark Falconer Mark, I had Grado Sonata in the past and I had no IGD. I am sure it doesn't hurt to recheck your TT setup again. You will find MP-110 tracks much better than any Cartridge in that price range. Best of luck👍
Mark Falconer After spending sometime now with Nagaoka, I can tell you the mo500 is in a different league and will compete with any more expensive mm phono cartridges regardless of the price.
@@boniccie ..maybe the comment finds he recorded audio of this UA-cam video funny…Plastic…we all know how much quality loss occurs….btw how was it recorded anyway?
I upgraded from the Ortofon 2M Blue to the MP300 and I’m completely blown away by the sound quality.
Congratulations! Can’t go wrong with Nagaoka...
big step forward, 3 levels upgrade in 1 step
I am buying the mp200 awesome cartridge
You are going to love the mp200

In my opinion, the Nagaoka MP-200 is the best value in a MM cartridge and the Ortofon MC-3 Turbo is the best value in a MC cartridge.
Jeffrey Srnec Yes indeed, I am going to try the mp500 and see how much of a difference I will hear between the 2 Nagaoka cartridges. Thanks👍

Hi what music is playing I can not read on the LP cover?
Mykhailo M hello, it is from J J Scott album live in Paris.
@@boniccie J J Scott? I keep trying to look it up, but all I get is "Jill Scott Live in Paris". Is that it?
@@cloakster sorry for the delay, yes it is.
Sounding good. What vtf are you using?
Jouni Seppänen Hello, I have it setup at 1.9g
Dr. Daniel M Thanks! I've set it exactly the same😊👍.
Two sub system …..??
Yes 👍

You have to hear this cart on real speakers
Agree! That’s why I used Salk speakers at that time....
Too much midrange and plastic sound. I believe is from the system itself.
Ricardo, I am a bit confused, can you shade some light on your definition of plastic sound?
@@boniccie …do you think it is the recording of this video.?
