From my own experience, I always ask potential customers if they have had any type of Ceramic coating applied! While some people believe wax and grease remover or isopropyl alcohol will remove these coatings, it doesn’t work well enough to remove stubborn high end Ceramic coating! So to remove it completely, I use a light polishing compound with an orbital polishing machine! This does the trick to completely get rid of the coating, so your glue will adhere properly !😊 These sealants are the number one enemy of any professional painters too! Wreak havoc with re-finishing process, every time, and nearly impossible to to kill/remove completely 🤨

I’m definitely going to remember the cleaning of the tab and the panel with alcohol next time I have to do a repair. I have had issues in the past with the tab staying on when I have fixed a car I had with pretty severe dents all over. My current one has some shallow ones I am going to give a go on and will use your advice going forward with it!

Its a small thing but it can make a huge difference to how well the tab and glue work together!

I will try those tricks next try, mine has been a nightmare its like you get halfway through putting pressure and something comes off...also doesn't help heaps of the HD glue sticks were i live are just crap (especially when you notice like $1-2 difference between normal and HD and not like you can return them for being sh*t

Yes there are a lot of variables with glue pulling, panel prep, tab prep and temperature are the main factors but there are also different glues, some designed for collision repair where you leave the tab for 5-10 minutes, some for a light soft pull and of course there are glues for hot climates and others for cold 👍
