      Who really knows; maybe when the earth was younger there were fish the size of sky scrapers. It's hard to find remnants of fish because everything falls to the bottom of the sea or oceans.

      @RichyArg 2 роки тому +98

      There are contenders tho, there's an ichthyosaur that probably rivaled it weight wise and one plesiousaur that, by it's estimated size range. may have ended being longer if it lived long enough, but the blue whale is defnietly the most voluminous animal we have evidence of.

    • @Lexzah
      @Lexzah 2 роки тому +84

      @@RichyArg it would be super cool if we could find evidence of something bigger that once lived.
      The only other things that could compete the blue whale as biggest thing alive to date (that we know of) are not even animals.
      Our biggest organisms are a forest of clone trees all coming from the same root system.
      A siphonophore, which is just a colony of single celled organisms living and working as one.
      But one has been found which is longer than thr blue whale, but not thicker, its just a super long noodle.
      And thr biggest being a giant fungi network, all living off the same root system. .

      Not-so-fun fact: The "some of the bigger giants STILL living" statement is not accurate to say b/c the only reason why we have the bigger animals today, such as the blue whale, is b/c the majority of large predators went extinct. The world and especially the ocean were much dangerous in the past than they are today
      The blue whale and the other whale species were not alive during the time of say, the Megalodon or Livyatan etc... b/c it was near impossible for them to exist/evolve w/o getting chomped on.

      It’s supposed to catch whales and considering whales go near the surface when breaching it should have a body appropriate for attacking from below which means it must have speed and most definitely had the same color as GW shark so technically it should’ve looked like the great white when it first came on the scene. However as the whales started to die out around the last ice age (15,000 years ago) I’d assume they’d actually would’ve A- gotten thinner from a less substantial diet before going extinct or B- got smaller and fatter to deal with cold and migrate with whales so the less weight it needed to carry would’ve helped it. That being said a rendition of the Megaladon is probably out there though smaller it might be feeding on attic whales

    the monsters in my mind of what could possibly be in the water are far more terrifying than anything in this video. i thought i noticed a giant tail in the shadows earlier in the video. the shadowy silhouette of Godzilla's back fins sold it for me. nice touch.
