My tips to completing the level: 1. Turn your lamp off right at the beginning. Enemies will have a harder timer noticing you. 2. Make sure you collect coins on the way, but focus on getting to the goal first and foremost. Don't go out of your way to get extra coins. You don't want to back yourself into a corner, and the final floor has about 1800 coins, as another commenter mentioned. 3. Take advantage of the stun feature! This especially comes in handy with the fire piranha plants. You won't have to deal with those really hard to avoid fireballs! Good luck!

From what I calculated, the final room has 36 gold mushrooms in it, which is worth 1800 coins. Meaning to hit the 5000 mark you have to complete floor 49 with 3200 coins. I guess there's also the red mushroom there which is another 10 if you're big, so 3190 in that case.
Mushroom and poster included you get 1861 which means you need to finish with 3139 coins. If you are small you need to finish with 10 extra coins because the mushroom at the end gives 10 coins if you are already big so your total needs to be a minimum of 3149 to clear with the bonus objective.

I thought it is endless because of the stage title. I was so happy after getting 5,000 coins and die like at 39th floor. Then I find out I need to clear the stage to get the mission done FML
I hate this level more than anything right now, when I finally completed it I ended with 4988 coins :'( I then had to replay it a million more times to get to 5000
Now that Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is already released, I think that Nintendo EPD is working on a sequel to Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, a sequel that takes place before the next 3D Mario game, in this case it should be Odyssey 2.

I made it alone to stage 48 with 4401 coins. Then got to it by myself to stage 47 and then 46….after I just got my girlfriend to help me and we did it first go and collected over 6000 coins. I’m happy in myself that I got to 48,47 and 46 by myself…maybe one day I will try to get all 50 beat by myself. I wish the game had a record where it tells you if you beat something solo or with a partner…would give extra incentive to 100% with all play styles

Dunno about the first three, but the arrstyle is the same on all versions, so this might be Switch, but it'll look the same on Wii U (Unlike 3D World, which got modernized on the Switch)
Yeah, there is the option of a 2nd player assisting by freezing enemies. I like moving the camera myself. On my own I got to level 46, a fire piranha got me close to the exit.
This took me the greater part of 3 hours ( w/o distruption ) and oml when I got to 40 and there wasn't a break I literally felt like dying. I was loudly saying ' pPLEASE. PLEASE WHY ARE THERE MORE LEVELS '. 50 was a literal relief

So, I played through the entire game in a trial Nintendo held recently, and this level was torture... However, I looked up footage of the DLC for this and it seems like Chaos in the grand labyrinth is even more torture for it's bonus objective...
I cannot keep my gyroscope visor centered for more than a few stages (Controller Pro or Joy-Cons). Even when put on a table, the visor is completely off center! Is it just me or do the controllers suck?!
Pit of 100 trials who? S8-Crown? Never heard of it Champion's road? Nah. The perfect run? What's that? Darker side? No clue. Lost kittens by the ruins? Nope. Who's luigi and where are his purple coins?
I remember being a little bitch and not wanting to do this level. That was in 2017 and 5 years later only took like an hour and lots of frustration, but at least I never have to do it again. I’m gonna come.
I died a million times Mummy Me Maze Forever (last level of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker). You have to complete 50 levels in one level and then if you do that but don’t collect a certain amount of coins you don’t completely complete it. Also The Final Final Test badge marathon sucks (Mario Wonder)

coins are just a distraction, you will probably always have above 5000 as long as you don't purposely dodge coins

I noticed the Mario poster in room 50 on my playthrough. It’s the only one in the game
I never could get through that final level and complete the task of 5000 enemies. I could not stop moving and there were enemies everywhere.
And theres a super mario odyssey easter egg when you finish the level in the switch

Little late but yes! Although Switch and Wii U has the objective of 5,000 coins, 3ds only has 3,000

This was the hardest level I beat in any game I ever played this level took me over 10 hours to beat.
Somehow this seems easier than Champion's Road.
That’s because champions road doesn’t change constantly and have enemies that are HIDDEN UNDERNEATH THE FUCKING OVERHANGS
Champion’s Road doesn’t have random layouts everytime you play it, doesn’t have enemies that you can barely see and isn’t 16 minutes long.
