Bulgaria looks like a lovely beautiful incredible country and Varna looks like a lovely beautiful incredible city. I'm also going to immigrate to either Russia or Bulgaria. If I immigrate to Russia I will live in Moscow and if I immigrate to Bulgaria I will live in Varna. Thanks for the video too.

If you get a "Triumf" taxi theyll always be metered and a good low price. Most popular type in town

@@travelwithcol4625 That's why Triumf are probably the best out here. They're probably the only ones that are actively trying to combat their drivers from scamming people or putting pumps on their price meters or whatever you call those things that keep track of the price. Also, prices are not really negotiable? That might be the case in Golden Sands, but that's a resort, of course most sellers there are re-sellers, not official brands, so you can negotiate the price with them. But most stores in the city, that are brand stores, are not negotiable. Same with groceries, only local small stores or street vendors would be up to negotiate, bigger chains or brand, won't be. Just putting that out there so people don't get confused why their coffee is 5lev and the staff don't want to negotiate, lmao

Good vid but please don't pay £20 from the airport!!
It should be around £10 max.
And as someone has commented earlier, always use Triumf taxis as their meters are fixed and they are the most popular. Or just get the shuttle bus from the airport to the centre for a fraction of the price.
Oh, and you said there are many British tourists here, I rarely see them here, apart from the in the expat hangouts
Most Brits go to the more expensive purpose built Golden Sands resort and stay there.

About checking prices and keeping tabs on the change given to you, yes, you must do that, there are people who purposefully try to scam you with the pretext of it being a mistake. Funny thing is, I know some business owners who have had staff do that and people complain that the owner is the scammer, when the person in reality had no clue this is even happening. It's just scummy people... So yeah, just check prices and the change you're then given.

Clearly you never been in Barcelona. Varna is sh1thole nowadays. Wasn't like this few decades back but mafia group called TIM totally took over the corrupted city mayor and council.
Apart those few hundred meteres in the centre which you filmed the rest is depressing. I.e. You didn't go and film the famous "Hole" right in the city centre.
I wouldn't live there for anything and Im Bulgarian. I guess for British it looks ok as English coastal towns like Brighton or Blackpool are nothing special either to say it in a polite way.😂
If you go in a proper Spanish, Italian, French Mediterranean towns and cities not just Barcelona, there is big difference. In everything.

I agree, it just shows you don't have a clue if you compare Varna to Barcelona. You don't get any credibility by doing such silly comparisons!

    • @travelwithcol4625

@SycAamore There are some similarities, a Both are Big Cities by the sea, parts are run down as are parts of Barca.

@SycAamore some years ago it was Cheaper than Spain. Inflation is High there!! But Hotels in Bulgaria are much cheaper than in Spain still, I was just in the Diamond 4* All inclusive for £33 per night in May. Bulgaria is Only Cheap for Bulgarian Beer and Bulgarian Whisky! Imported drinks are the same price as in the UK 🇬🇧 I live in Poland and it’s 1 hour 30 to Bulgaria and 3.5 hours to Spain and 5-6 hours to Canary Islands ..
