As I stated in the video I noticed staining on my sponge. Idrosave itself is not staining the sponge. It is the combination of dirt and grime that is being removed from the surface of the vehicle on the lower panels. In order for me to remove that dirt and grime, I had to use an all purpose cleaner to clean the sponge as Idrosave was unable to remove it from the sponge. CarPro Ech2o is another rinseless that does something similar with road grime and I have to use an APC to clean the sponge. Don't let this take away from the fact that Idrosave does clean very well and the polymer protection leaves the surface slick with a nice amped up gloss. Also follow the directions by washing one panel at a time with idrosave. Spotting can result if letting the product dry and it is harder to wipe off as the protection seems to be pretty stout.

I completely blanked when I first used Idrosave because I wasn't used to my rinseless leaving protection behind so I presprayed the entire vehicle while outside before starting my wash. Normally that's no problem with what I normally use, but I learned quickly, luckily I was able to fix my error before it fully set up. I love how well Idrosave does on glass because the protection allows it to flash better I believe. I've only had limited use with it so far, hoping to play with it more this weekend. Due to the protection in the product, its not something I can see myself using very regularly, at least for now with my own cars. Now that my car is coated and my wife's car will be coated here sometime this spring, I'm in a season of my detailing life where I'm not wanting to use toppers because I like to see how the coating is performing on its own. I'm only going to use the designated topper for the coating, and only if/when required. I've coated quite a few other vehicles, but they were either my old cars that were getting sold, or are owned by someone who is taking them through a car wash and I've not had much chance to check up on them. So far I've used Idrosave side by side with Absolute, just doing a superficial clean of my summer wheels that are still dirty from last year (life has been pretty crazy lately). Cleaning power is equal, both broke down the dirt and brake dust extremely well. Slickness/lubrication is a draw for me at this point, though that may change as I use it more. I'm hard pressed to tell a difference between the two, with maybe just a c-hair more slickness out of Idrosave. If you're a person that is either still using waxes/sealants or who like to put toppers on top of toppers on top of your coating, Idrosave is a great option. Whenever my coatings start to age and I'm needing to help the hydrophobics along, I can definitely see using it more. I'm planning to pick up a test panel (hoping to try to find a black GM hood/trunk that isn't too far gone) so I can play around with some different products. Once I do that I can get a feel for how long the protection from Idrosave might last out in the elements. That said, I'm too much of a rinseless junkie to ever have it be my one and only rinseless product. I'm not going to be using it in a pad washer or for polish/compound wipeoff like I do with DIY or ONR, I'm never going to use it as a clay lube like I do with Absolute, and I'm probably not going to use it on interiors with any regularity. I'm very eager to see what they come out with for the 3pH rinseless wash, and I'll be curious to see if Idrosave is an integral part of that, or if it could be swapped out for any other rinseless. Regarding the staining on your sponge, I think that just comes down to whatever contaminants you're dealing with. My wife's diesel doesn't have a cat or DPF anymore, and even DIY can't get that out of the sponge. If its any kind of soot or ash, its not going to come out of the sponge without using an APC. Diamond Body 36 has been outstanding so far on my car. Granted, we did have an extremely mild winter by MN standards, but I have seen no issues with clogging from road salt or anything else.

I’m on the fence about idrosave and probably won’t buy it again. I had some issues with spotting on area where I oversprayed on the previous panel I already cleaned. Since it was cleaned and dried I didn’t go over it again at the time but noticed when I was done with the car that a bunch of areas with over spray had dried and spotted. It wasn’t the worst thing to get off but just another unnecessary step. I’m so glad I still have a huge stock pile of the greatest rinseless of all time in my opinion - ONR V3. It’s such an easy and forgiving user experience. I’ve been warming up to V5 lately also and like the lubricity so I can use it in certain situations to stretch out my V3 supply even longer.
Agree, Idrosave is not dummy-proof. It has to be panel by panel, done quickly, and dried quickly...otherwise, pain in the butt spots from being a stout rinseless...however, this thing is slick AF and Im determined to figure it out so that I may sure it's an easy rinseless for me to work with.
Idrosave is one of top 3 favorite RW's. I did find out that it will make your drying towel hydroscopic...so now I always rinse my towel after using it. It's never stained my sponge but it does leave some black residue in the bottom of the bucket that won't rinse out so I use some Dawn to clean the bucket.
Another great review! Great advice on buying the smaller bottles when trying things out, I still have old products that I will eventually need to toss or try and give them away
Thanks. It may cost more but sometimes we fall into the hype trap and the product may not meet our expectations. Each person has a different experience whether it’s positive or negative.
Fire review bro!! I agree definitely the best polymer rinseless for sure with protection. Personally I don’t pre spray the whole car unless it’s 80 degrees or below. Yes I saw the dirt and grime stick even on the UBS sponge 😅.
Thanks. I wouldn’t do that in 80 degree weather. That’s asking for trouble. It looks like some missed out on Labo stating use panel by panel and we are seeing the drawbacks with spotting. My sponges are clean after a little APC so nothing to be mad about 😂
@@MikeGDetailing 😂😂. Yeah that's the limit for me for any car but black 80degree weather spray one half and continue down. Yeah a bit of APC helps. For sure .
@@MikeGDetailing That's why it's hard for me to go back to a polymer product. DIY makes my wash media perfectly clean the second I agitate it in the bucket. It's almost like you would want two buckets, one with DIY to clean the media and then one with the polymer rinseless for the contact wash.
ONR is still a good product but there are better rinseless washes on the market these days. Others clean better and have better lubricity. To me V3 was the better version of ONR.
How would you compare to using Ech2o as a Rinseless. I have some coming just curious with the slickness. Ech2o as a Rinseless is very underrated and the wipe off is unmatched so far for me.
Someone asked me this on here as well. My answer. Ech2o is not going anywhere for me. It will stay in my arsenal. It is just that good for me. Splitting hairs here because I like Ech20. Idrosave will have the more durable protection especially with many text me and also commenting on it causing spotting if not wiped completely. Slickness is on par. I give the edge of cleaning to Idrosave. I like both and will keep both. If I need something with protection then I will reach for Idrosave. If I need just good gloss with no protection then EcH2o would be my choice.
@@MikeGDetailing I’m looking forward to testing idrosave out next week when it comes in. I think I forget how solid of a product ech2o is because it’s been around so long and they haven’t done any revisions to it. Thanks for the review.
@@MikeGDetailing Yes, I was asking about it in your previous video regarding Ech2o because it caught my attention as one of the few products that can be diluted as a rinseless wash, quick detailer and a waterless wash. I didn't know they had Si02 components in it, so that was my "breakthrough" about it. I thought it was a "new formula" or something like that, because I haven't noticed that part before. Even though it's not a new product, it seems to have lots of features that no one else offers. The only thing that seems off is the 200:1 dilution ratio for the rinseless, but if it leaves a little bit of protection behind it, then it will be worth it. Cheaper than most other rinseless washes as well, at a first glance. I have to try it out.
Late to the table on this product, I bought it just a moment ago because- A, its available here for the last 10 days, B, because I believe it leaves a little bit more protection behind and a glossy finish. I have just bought Hero to to compare it against. What are they like between each other? I'm thinking Hero is very good at cleaning and great for washing the entire car in one hit without any stout residue that's hard to shift once you've checked it one last time after drying. Idrosave seems as good as Hero, Slightly tricky working it one panel at a time, but leaves a better gloss and slickness. Hero for best all-round twice or three times weekly where as Idrosave saved for the special Cars and coffee events and displaying at car shows etc?
The main difference is Idrosave is going to leave that durable protection and it also is a panel by panel rinseless wash. Very slick as it is leaving ceramic protection. Hero does have ceramic but anything left behind is minimal. It is more of cleaner that will leave a coated look due to the ceramic in it.
@MikeGDetailing Hopefully both of these products should arrive today 🤞 as I'm going on holiday to Croatia. I'm looking forward to seeing how they both work as I'm using rinseless wash virtually all the time now.
I don’t like the protection in it. I normally rinseless wash the whole car in the shade with diy or absolute and have no problems if they dry on the surface. I live in south Louisiana it gets in the 100s with 90-100% humidity in the summer. I tried idrosave section by section, but I didn’t like it because I find it annoying to be chasing all the overspray and drips so that it won’t spot. I mixed a bottle 64:1 to try as a quick detailer/drying aid, I’ll try that next time I wash. I hope their alkaline and acidic rinseless pre soaks are better
I will be using it this week and let you know since you only have that temperature and humidity during the summer when that's something daily and normal for us in our island 😜
Yeah it's all about wash method preference really. I normally do it the way you do because I don't like chasing overspray and would like do wash, then dry the whole vehicle in one go around. But Idrosave now gives me another method to wash if I don't feel like using any last step product after the wash, it's good to go after drying which is neat to think about.
With all due respect to P&S, from my experience it is spotty as hell, need to fight it a lot with my towel while drying... And i wanted to try Idro, but if it has protection it will not be my go-to rinsless
I just don't get it, it's and Italian Company and it's not avalible here in Poland xD Hmm about the spotting, ive had similar experience with all polymer Rinsless washes (using Absolute now, leaves a lot of spots on my panels, i dont work panel by panel as i prefer washing the whole car), my go to are hybrids like DIY Rinsless, less spoting, can do whole car and prespray with it and so on.
Now that is odd for sure. You should be able to get it in your area. Interesting that you get spotting with Absolute. But DIY is a great option. I have a few bottles in my cabinet since it is good and just works well with no issues.
@@MikeGDetailing I really like that it is suited for my cleaning routine and is a powerfull cleaner imho, oh and Gus i really like that your active in many forums and most of your anwsers or advice gave me the confidence and the knowledge to work more on my car (i hate giving it to other ppl in general, i really do...)
@@victoryensured7137appreciate the kind words. I am happy to hear any advice I have given has been good guidance in how you detail. This is what I like to do not just here but in my real life as well.
Well, I'm Italian and yet I still can't get my hands on it. As Reggie Cox said, Labocosmetica launched it in the States because there the rinselelss wash is a thing. Here it's not: it's still perceived as a lesser and more risky wash, but that's another story. I hope within a month or so I'll be able to purchase a botte, at least in time to improve my knowledge about the product before the summer kicks in. It's going to be quite useful for the work/holiday far from home.
The slickness, gloss and cleaning for me is what makes it better. Idrosave will also leave protection so if that is not something that is wanted then Absolute is the better choice. But yes any rinseless that cleans and doesn't scratch is key and a winner as you stated.
I spotted my whole vehicle prespraying in the sun lol. Any advice on how to remove the polymer spots? They only come out with very very hard (more than I'd like) physical agitation. I tried DIY Detail Water Spot remover, Primus, Purifca, and Sampur, but no luck
Dang that definitely sucks. They are not water spots but spots due to the silica in it that is seeming to pretty durable. It will require some physical agitation to remove it unfortunately. Did you try going over it with a little more Idrosave to see if that removes it. In most cases like removes like.
@@oceanfrog Yeah, I 3PH washed the cars outside and then pulled the car into the garage and let the waterspot dwell. It seems my problem here was following the website's 30:1 pretreatment dilution ratio to soak "dirty" cars. It was my fault for not listening to them say "do one panel at a time", but didn't expect such consequences lol.
Hey Mike been waiting for this great video. So here’s the million dollar question…what do you think is better for you, Idrosave, ultima waterless wash plus, Wolfgang Uber rinseless og/sio2, or carpro ech2o? Sorry for the odd question but I’m genuinely interested to hear your opinion. Also have you tried Autofanatic wheel cleaner concentrate? I’ve been using it since release and always recommend.
Thanks. Appreciate it. This should be a short list as I never used ultima or either Wolfgang SiO2. It’s been so long since I used Wolfgang Uber so I cannot recall how that one compares. I have used McKee’s 37 ceramic rinseless which is probably similar to and of course carpro Ech2o. I do like both of these as well. Idrosave will clean better than both of these with all of them having about equal lubricity. Out of these 3 Ech2o will have the least amount of protection. I believe Idrosave claims 30 days and I have experienced 30 days with McKee’s. Finally I have not used anything from Autofanatic.

@MikeGDetailing so no review coming on the channel I take it🤔 I've used Griot's Garage Ceramic Rinseless Wash in cool temps and it worked great for me, looking forward to warmer temps to see how it does 😉
After seeing yours and eddies reviews of idrosave I will not be buying, expensive compared to some other rinseless washes and the staining is a major downside, they haven’t obviously done enough product testing before release, I will stick to p and s Absolute, great cleaning ability, great glass, and a reasonable price!🇬🇧

Mike G, thanks for your testing of products. Looks like many of this companies products tested are positive? Unless this is a "Game Changer" product, I probably will NOT buy this product because it is NOT made in the USA!
This stuff doesn't work well for the way I like to use rinseless wash. Any overspray not wiped off before it dries will cause spotting. That's a shame because it would be the perfect rinseless for me if that weren't the case.
Looks good, but alot of people complaining about staining...how does it compare to the drive ceramic or have u not tried it? Also have u tried uber sio2. Looking for a good sio2 rinsless with some protection but can't decide
I have not used either of those ceramic rinseless washes. I believe Eddie (@ec details) used driver ceramic rinseless. Idrosave does clean well and leave some pretty stout protection. But it is a panel by panel rinseless wash and yes it has the potential to leave ceramic spots if let to sit. Staining can occur and Labocosmetica has since updated their site that it can make towels become hydrophobic over time. I also heard from one person that it turned their sponge hydrophobic. I have been using Slick-X by Ripclean more so than Idrosave lately and it does a good job as well without the issues that Idrosave has.
@MikeGDetailing thanks Mike, I just got the Uber si02, havnt tried yet, might give slick x a try also, yea I've watched alot of Eddie's videos, he did really like drive ceramic rw when he reviewed it but it didn't make it in his top 5. It's never stained my sponge but it does leave some black residue in the bottom of the bucket that won't rinse out so I use some Dawn to clean the bucket.
You are right. Labocosmetica updated their site to state this as well. Glad to hear you are enjoying it.
It's all your fault Mike, Eddie, Tim..... Ordering now. Thank you for the review and for influencing me to try the good stuff.
Haha. It’s money well spent though
@@MikeGDetailing if uncle Sam is looking.... It's called a BUSINESS EXPENSE 👀🧐...
Great video review Mike! Maybe I will give a try when my gallon of P&S Absolute it gone. Keep the great content coming!
Thank you. It’s a good option after you’re done with the gallon and you don’t mind the protection in it. I know some can be picky about that.
For sure .
All of the polymer rinseless I’ve used tend to stain my sponges until I use them with N914 or DIY and the surfactants clean them out.
You are right. Same experience here.
@@MikeGDetailing That's why it's hard for me to go back to a polymer product. DIY makes my wash media perfectly clean the second I agitate it in the bucket. It's almost like you would want two buckets, one with DIY to clean the media and then one with the polymer rinseless for the contact wash.
@@chrisbradley3224DIY is very good. Try the new mcKee's N 914 V2 when you get a chance. It is so nice with the increased lubricity.
@@MikeGDetailing I'll have to give it a shot once I run out of DIY.
Great video! What do you not like about ONR revision #5?
ONR is still a good product but there are better rinseless washes on the market these days. Others clean better and have better lubricity. To me V3 was the better version of ONR.
Wow that looks really good.
I get it Mckees gave me PTSD waterspot all over so I always do panel by panel and keep it moving, Its different strokes for different folks
@@Ecdetails facts. I think it’ll be good at 64:1 as a quick detailer with some protection

Another great video Mike. After DIY is gone I'm going to try a little bottle of Idrosave. Is your Stand the Harbor Freight stand?
Thanks. Let me know what you think of it when you try it out. Also good eye spotting the harbor freight stand.
@@MikeGDetailing I've been looking for a stand. Saw that in the store yesterday.
@@wescat2it is pretty good for what I need it for. My brother owns one as well.
What makes it better than p and s? Just slicker? As far as I’m concerned as a newbie, if it cleans well and doesn’t scratch the paint, it’s a winner
@@MikeGDetailing More rinseless did not help. I will try DIY Detail All Clean tmr
Did you let the DIY Detail Water Spot Remover dwell a bit? I did that, then rinsed with DIY rinseless. That did the trick for me.
The best apc to use to clean your wash sponge is Meguiar's D101 @ 10:1 dilution.
I have some Meguiar's D103. I stocked up before they discontinued it. It is very good.
Great video G!!
Thank you.
I bought a bottle after watching your review, the 32 oz bottle.
How does it compare to Ech2o Guz🤔

@MikeGDetailing thanks Guz, maybe you can review the new Griot's Garage Ceramic RW💡
@@klasseact6663from what I have been hearing, this won't be making it into the rotation. I have not heard anything positive from it thus far.
@MikeGDetailing so no review coming on the channel I take it🤔
I've used Griot's Garage Ceramic Rinseless Wash in cool temps and it worked great for me, looking forward to warmer temps to see how it does 😉
Have you tried this at its WW dilution and how would that compare to Adapt?
This could be a cost effective use of the product.
I have not used it as a waterless wash. I do have to test that. Thanks for the idea to talk about.
How long does this protection last? Wondering if some sort of aditional protection is required?
@@TheAlmightySushi labo states about 6 weeks.
Thanks for watching. Appreciate your comments. Nothing wrong with Absolute. If it’s working continue using it 👍
From what i see the biggest debate is DYI vs IDROSAVE !!! Who takes the W?
What are we looking for? Gloss? Slickness? Cleaning power? Protection?
@@MikeGDetailing cleaning power ! making sure i minimize any chance of scratching or marin the paint .. since i only use rinseless due to the fact that im limited to water supply at the moment ( i live at an apartment complex)
@KR8810 I’m going to give the edge to DIY but not by much. Idrosave wins in the lubricity department due to the protection it has in it.
Thanks !
Thank you as well.
Why is it better than absolute?
Better cleaning and lubricity. Idrosave will leave protection though.
Mike G, thanks for your testing of products. Looks like many of this companies products tested are positive? Unless this is a "Game Changer" product, I probably will NOT buy this product because it is NOT made in the USA!
In general most products do work. Companies really can't afford a bad product these days as it will impact their reputation and of course sales.
This stuff doesn't work well for the way I like to use rinseless wash. Any overspray not wiped off before it dries will cause spotting. That's a shame because it would be the perfect rinseless for me if that weren't the case.
This has been the common issue with idrosave.
Sorry to hear others are having trouble with it, but relieved to know I'm not just a doofus. @@MikeGDetailing
This product is terrible I'm so glad I only bought the 8 oz

@@MikeGDetailing it stains Superbad it left water spots all over my vehicle especially on the black trim
Are you spraying the whole car down, or going panel by panel?
@@jeffc6832 panel by panel
@@johnwhisenant3481same question here if it was applied to the entire vehicle or working panel by panel?
First!!!!
I don't think he likes adding protection when rw, but idrosave made it in just because it's so slick and cleans so good he said.
