That gig looked like so much fun. Love that you had a live drummer. Apart from the energy that brings to the party, it engages the crowd so much more than just one guy hidden behind a bank of technology.
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers 🤘
And it’s highly interactive too. The crowd latches on directly
This performance with the live drums is really fire 🔥🔥🔥🚒
He's an awesome drummer!
One of the best shows i ever saw was when Booka Shade played at WMC in the early 2000's at this little club at 5am. What made it so great was that it was live. One guy was on a MIDI drumset and the other guys was surrounded by synths. They did an amazing job of interacting with the crowd and made the whole set feel very organic. This reminds me of that. Keep up the great work!
Dude I tell you what! I was at that same exact gig. He had the percussion set in the middle of the stage right? That weird smaller club with the ATM machine inside
What are the chances!!! 🎉
@@AnalogKitchen Yes exactly! That's crazy, small world!
I remember it well. I was with someone from Dutch radio 538 and she said 'we should go see booka shade tonight'. I was all up in my Funk Function days back then...
I really love the golden nuggets of truth you speak about at the end. I hope folks stick it out for this one until the end. Great information.... as always. Thanks, AK!
I hope so too! Thanks for watching Slim
Never disappointed with your weekly videos!
That’s great to hear!
Very cool!
Thanks Eric!
Perfect(?) example: A cheap keyboard can sound way more awesome through an amp. There is something special about the hardware and software created from 1950-2005'ish.
That sound is not going anywhere. And when played properly, it still sounds awesome.
cheap keyboard? you meant the moog?
@@aboriteko No, I very much mean something like a cheap yamaha or roland keyboard from the 80's or 90's CAN sound awesome with a bit of post processing and the correct presets. I'm sayin like: the keyboard you buy at a yardsale for 20 bucks lol. To be fair: most of the presets are difficult to use, and they need amplification and perhaps an FX chain(reverbs, delay, flange, phasing, filters, whatevers). The source waveforms seem very usable for some modern edm type sounds tho.
Moog type keyboards arent that cheap, and they usually sound great by default.
There's something special indeed!
Getting a real drummer is a great idea, in my own opinion nothing compares to having a drummer in a band. Combining great synths with the drummer is an absolutely perfect sound ❤
Yes. Takes some setting up but it looks like a winner!
Yoooo!!! That was wicked!!!
Thank you!
Oh very cool to see that live act // drummer combo again! ❤ I did some gigs like that during the late 90ies / early 2000s. Big fun!
---
It's pretty tough to find drummers that can keep up with the constant energy while still keep grooving and also being interesting over the course of a 1hour-liveset imho.
Well can you imagine him playing for 1.5hrs? He’s a machine
@@AnalogKitchen That's dope 🤠
He was tired though... Hahaha
A setup which fits in your backpack.. 🙂
Perhaps this could contains one of your favorites gear, Octatrack, plus a DAW setup with an additional controller.
I will keep it Dawless. Closest thing would be the 1010 BB
Good!
Cheers!
Lekker dit! 👌🏽
Ja toch! Waar was jij dan bro?
Ok I would use the live drummer snare for the build ups and use drum machine to accent that
That's actually a great idea!
Another great Video Lucien ❤
Is there somewhere you list your upcoming Live events , I fancy a trip to Holland this year 😜👍
I’ll keep you posted! Check out www.analogkitchen.live
Wow my parents have that same rug the drummer is set up on lols
No they haven’t. We stole it
Wait you where at Cafe Steijn in Rotterdam on kings day? How did i mis this, that is literally down the street from where i live
Don’t say that bro! Hahaha
Nice jam!
Thanks for listening
@@AnalogKitchen and really inspiring. I've had few useful thoughts regarding my setup while listening to it 🎶
Yes? Tell me... What did you come up with?
Nice
Thanks!
Amazing, sounds very tight even with all the rolls, effects and buildups. 🫡 it works 🎵🥁🎧
Thanks! 🙏
great
Looking forward to air collab Tomo!!!
another great video. love the performance and live drums. wondering if u can solve the Sub37 midi issues - have been thinkinng to buy one
Yes I think I am sending out a loop through the RK 008 and 006. I’ll investigate
🎉🎉🎉
Congrats Toff!
Cool thing! We also do it that way!
#PedroHelsinki
Cool! It sure was a great experience
😎
Thanks for your awesome performance Geert!
hello! and from which car did you take the clock in the drummer's ear?
I also played with a live drummer in my time. But the problem was that he was a Terry Bozzio fan.And the number of his instruments reached 36 pedals🤦😅
Hahaha. I use a multiclock to clock everything. So he had a Roland spd that received my clock and he then could link up with me
You should have less drum and fill and leave more place for the real drum…
I mixed it differently so once we release the drum will come more forward. It’s all in a process of checking out what fits where. Thanks for watching and stay around for more
But I loved it!!!!!!!
I will try to do the same…
