Anne, I love the changes, especially the curtains. In the process I’m thinking, put the large table chair by the fireplace…. And you did! Early American, or colonial, has always been my style, but I include plenty of primitive antiques too. You’ve inspired me to freshen up a bit… thanks🌷

I love early American & primitive! It’s how I decorate now inspired by my best friend’s mom growing up. It always feels so warm & cozy & it sends me back to my favorite Jane Austen books & movies.

Hi Anne! Your beautifully designed curtains and your more colorful artwork have sure given the parlor room a livelier and dressier look! You know that my favorite piece in that room is your clock, but I also really love that small oval table that you placed in front of the window! I have to say I loved how that new picture of the lady in yellow caught your attention when it was on the wall near the pine cupboard! You have so many nice pieces, including all of your wonderful artwork, that you are so lucky to be able to experiment with. So many things in your home seem to look good in so many different places and even in so many different rooms in your home. It's always such fun watching you move things around until you get the look you're going for!

Moving the picture to the corner and reflecting it from the mirror plus the yellow chair in the corner......Brilliant. Well Done!!!!! The jury is still out on the curtains. I love them, but in the summer might light flowy simple curtains be hung? Go for it, the print is lovely. I just made a yellow daffodil and green fern small arrangement in an aged terra cotta pot. Yellow is a grand hue and makes me smile. Thanks Anne.
Who knows what will happen in the summer… that’s 4 months away. Things change quickly here with the whims of the lady of the house. :)

Yes color is wonderfully helpful! In the fall I always strip color out but boy do I want it in the spring!
I'm so enjoying your more prim look and this time with it dressed up a bit.....suggestion to cozy up that corner near the clock....an oval or round braided rag rug in appropriate colors might work for you. I'm noticing some nice early prim pieces that you have added.....the tin sconces are perfect. TFS everything turned out looking very nice. My living room/parlor is also a mix of prim and a little taste of French country
Thank you. Yes I’ve always loved a touch of French country. When I first moved here I was leaning that way in kitchen #2. I kept thinking of a beautiful blue wash and the door opening and closing with chickens walking in and out… terracotta plants on the window sills.. sometimes I wish I had about 4 homes to decorate… well and an unlimited budget.

Anne I could listen to you for hours. I love to hear your process with your decorating so thank you for your videos. I loved the sconces. I always light my candles and then blow them out. Someone taught me that. She said it makes them look like they have been used for their purpose and it looks more welcoming. Thank you for all you do! I’m so grateful to have found you on UA-cam.

I love the room. The paintings are perfect and I love, love the curtains. Just me, but I also loved the goose with the large eggs and tulip. It added a spring lightness that I am craving!💝

Hi! Love you channel! Just a thought... The clock and side table seem off-centered. I would move the clock and center it on the wall where the mirror is and then center the photo or mirror on the wall with that smaller table underneath. Looking forward to the next video!

👋🏻 I disagree ❤ Blue and brown or blue and orange are classic pairings, but I guess for more modern design. 🤔 Glad the big holidays are over and channels like yours are getting back!!
It’s true, blue can work. I made blue work at Christmas but the particular blue that I wanted to use wasn’t working with the brown/grey paint on my wall. It didn’t give the soothing quality that I wanted. They did all kinds of colors in the past that we wouldn’t put together now. Work for me may have been a more accurate term.
