I thoroughly enjoyed your video.
I'm a 40-year-old, fresh out of welding school, widowed mom welder. I was needing a wood rack for my back porch and stumbled across your video. This will be my first project since welding school. I thought I would get a job as a welder but instead a joist detailer. Go figure. But thanks for the entertainment!
"I have two hands...and you probably have two hands, so you can get it done." Words to live by.
This is exactly what i wanna make for my boyfriend (need to learn to weld first but i think i got it)! The commentary had me rolling ty this was a perfect tutorial video
I love your narration. I am more woodworking oriented, but you are so refreshing and entertaining, i am subscribing!
Well alright! Thank you very much! Glad you got a laugh. That’s one thing you’ll find in any of my videos, I don’t act, I just make and what happens happens!😂 thank you for watching!
best welding video i ever watched... by far
What!? Whatever you have to be trolling me!😂 but I’ll take it! This was a really simple project and that was the point. Making metal stick together is easy. Making it look pretty is something else entirely, in this case, I suppose I did ok. Thanks for watching!
Good tip on the metal plate to the wall. I hadn’t thought of that as my walls aren’t finished (yet). I’ll have to plan a spot for that
Lol funny vid brotha. I was in the process of making a wood rack and welding it up. Took a break for a sec and figured I'd look up some ideas ya know after I already started 🙃. And you came up. I don't regret watching it. We are literally the same. Except I don't have a ranger. My kids are at the age of it's not fun anymore I weld on the floor of my driveway and yes I hate those buckets I only use them for ashes.
Great little project. 👍
Enjoyed this video, im looking for ideas for a wood rack and this was straight to the point tank you and subbed!!!
Impressive!
Great video. That is a pretty nice setup for the bandsaw. Have you made a video on how you made that? I'd love to replicate it. Thanks
Hilarious video man!! Looks good - I'm welding up a similar design myself. Nice Ranger. Way to be a Dad too. Peace.
Where is the best place to buy steel? I want to build one for an assembly fixture. I use 14" wide x 8' pallets stacked 4' high and strapped to the pallet. Then I use the skid steer to fork the wood to the house 1/3 cord at a time. The stacking fixture will make ìt easier to stack before strapping it together.
Scrapyard
What gauge tubing is it?
I’m going to make a rack similar design but bigger. 6’tall 7’ long , 2 separate racks. What size steel square tube stock and wall thickness do you recommend?
I don’t care the price as Everett steel is where I’ll buy it.
How much would something like this cost retail
Its gonna last forever, at least alot longer than pallets
How much did the materials cost ?
I’m not gonna lie to you, I run a steel yard so I get a pretty reasonable deal! That being said this was built out of scrap metal from our local steel yard (which I help run🙄) and if you have access shouldn’t be paying more than .60 cents per pound! So at that price this was probably around $20 in scrap weight. Tubular steel new can be a little speedy on a project like this but the same can be made from angle iron which purchased new is really inexpensive and every bit strong enough for a firewood rack! Thanks for watching🙂
If you had mitred the rhs at a 45 you wouldnt have to blank the ends.
I actually only have one hand
