I think it is great that you used the super low cost pen and showed it is possible to do a bullet journal setup this way.
That was what I was thinking, yeah! It was the pen I was leaning towards initially for that reason 😄
Made it to the end. I'm in the UK so don't often catch the live streams. But I enjoy having them on as I work from home 💜

I love bujos because you can do it as simple or complex as you want. One pen? No problem. Some color? Cool. Scrapbooking style? Go wild!
From this one, I like the future log with the Alastair method, but I'd use it for birthdays. I don't have many events in the year (for now).
Made it back for the rest of the replay. You killed it with just one sus junk drawer pen. Goal spreads are my must have as well. Having a few trackers naturally comes with that. Have a great week!

The other disadvantage to the fixon, that I discovered, is that children can rub out appointments that they don’t want to attend… learned that one the hard way! Pretty certain my 10 year would NEVER be game enough to do it again!!! 🤣 but missing a specialist appointment was a big no-no

As someone who owns about 10000 pens and who still journals with just one pen, I had a giggle when you were trying to decide between all the pens. I'm watching on replay! One of these days I may actually use the other pens in my journals. I've tried to use them, but I always find myself grabbing my favorite pen to set up my journal.

If your frixion pen ink disappears because of the heat I've heard you can get it back by putting the journal in the freezer. You might give that a try to see if it works so maybe you can use the frixion pen without fear.
Self-care bingo is so cute! There's a part of me that is thinking about trying to do a one-pen setup or month, but then there's the part of me that really needs at least one highlighter.

I use a grid spacing ruler, but mostly just to find the middle, or for number boxes needed for a month without having to count.

1:32:53 There's a really good doco on that, but I don't know details, like name, country, etc... (main general premise is depends on level of activity vs anxiety influences ones perception).
I agree; too many sticky notes in my journal would make me uncomfy 😝

Also wondered about spreads for college students... what do you think YOU would've used if you had a bullet journal while in higher education?
Great question! I would have used:
- Term timeline (for holidays and due dates
- Assessment break downs for different courses/papers (what are the assignments/assessments and how much do they contribute to my grade
- Grade brackets (what percentage do I need for different grades)
- Assessment planners (word count trackers, points to talk about, etc.)
- Study planner (which parts of each course have I studied for in the lead up to exams)
- Weekly timetable (when are my lectures/tutorials/labs/etc)
- Dumb sh*t said while in the lab / during late night assessment sessions with ma people 😝
Probably some other things, but those are the things that come to mind! 💜😄
What’s your favorite go to pen to use? I absolutely am obsessed with the Sakura Pigma Micron in Plastic Nib. I want something archival and that I can pass my bullet journal recipe book for future generations.
My personal favourite is the Paper Mate Inkjoy gel pen 😄💜

I hear that if you use a frixion pen, erase your writing and stick it in the freezer, the ink shows up again. I've never tried it myself so I don't know how true that is lmao.

I do technically have a camera that can shoot in high quality, it's just the streaming software that caps me at 720. Didn't want to pay for a higher quality (at a fairly decent higher cost) if I didn't end up doing live streaming. This year is the trial run, haha 😂
Normally stream quality isn't ~too~ bad though, but for this one my camera felt "laggy". I've managed to fix it now, but it was a shame it did it for this one!

I’d rather use super available supplies for a setup like this 😊 I think some people have a tendency to let their supply stash hold them back, so it’s nice to show that you don’t need to have anything fancy to set up a bullet journal 🤙
