- A trigger list is a useful tool for doing a complete brain dump (or mental inventory) so let's set one up! This concept comes from Getting Things Done by David Allen 👌

Hi team! 💜 Hopefully you enjoyed seeing my process for making a trigger list in my long-term collections journal 😄 The Google Doc that I was working on can be found at bit.ly/45hUJcH and I hope it helps as a starting point for your own list 💪
Maybe I'm in the minority but i definitely appreciate how you just jumped right in! You've been such a great resource for my semi-chaotic life. You're the best 😊
I'm glad it was appreciated! I always prefer videos getting right down to business 😝💜 Thanks!
I am looking at this video and thinking this would be great for setting up my first level 10 life this comming year (I do not have enough spaces left in my current bujo to do it right now) and finding what is actualy important for me and the tings I want to track
I LOVE COKE ZERO and you inspired me to make my first bulletjournal. It begins on September first. :) Thanks for everything.
Excited for you! 😄💜 heck yeah for Coke Zero 💪
1:47 Thought vomit 😂 Will make a trigger list as a part of my 4th ¼ thing.
Meanwhile cutting 25 pages of stickers on my Silhouette c3
I use pensieve. In Harry Potter where Dumbledore takes thoughts out of his head and puts them in a bowl called a pensieve so he could see them better. Much better than brain dump.
It's certainly a nicer sounding term, haha 😂💜
Ooooh I love that! I'm definitely using that from now on - thanks!
Omg me too!
I have since started a book of lists: A manual, if you will, of all these types of charts and lists, in a separate book that I use during my planning sessions with my calendar/planner. It really saves re-copying time! 🌿M
Ohhh can you explain a little more? My OCD brain is very intrigued by the way you say you have it set up! Lol
@@Chaos_and_Creativity Hey! Came across the notification that you had asked me a question and I totally ghosted you! NOT INTENTIONALLY!!!
I have 3 planning books: (1) Templates (I call it) and (2) Calendar and (3) Mind Sweep (I carry a little book around in my purse or bookbag, to write everything down in -- I don't like how long it takes me to type on my phone lol).
(1) So, in the TEMPLATES (which is in a small happy planner 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 for easier moving of pages around and updating templates). That's where I put my INSTRUCTIONS to myself (templates) for REVIEWS, PROMPTS (I'm trying to take all "gun" analogies out of my language, like "triggers"), WORKFLOWS/PROCESSES for everything: personal, work/ministry, planning, goal-setting, everything.
I have them in "use" order (i.e., daily, weekly, monthly, season/quarterly, annually) right now but may change it to alphabetical, if that gets too confusing (and IF I can find dividers to fit in a happy planner!).
So, if I update or tweak anything, I just need to reprint the page, punch it and put it in the HP, instead of re-writing it each month.
(2) Calendar: self-explanatory, but I have an online calendar (Google) and am just starting to use Asana, so probably won't keep two digital calendars going; several wall calendars in the household but only 2 are used by me (perpetual birthday calendar, and appts. calendar).
(3) Mind Sweep / Seed Thoughts: mentioned above as, in GTD lingo, my CAPTURE tool. It even sits on my bedstand. I just need to schedule time to process the contents into the appropriate "container": calendar, Asana (projects, tasks, routines, and calendar), etc.
So, after 11 months of thinking about answering but forgetting to do it, I hope this helps maybe even just a little bit?!? lol
(As a fellow OCD-symptom-recipient, I'm sure you understand why, even after 11 months, I still wanted to answer your question!)

How about brain detox?
My phrase for a “brain dump” is “inside the labyrinth of my mind” (l love the movie Labyrinth and this phrase just fits me 😅)
Oh nice 👏 Always good to find a phrase that fits us 😄💜
I made it to that point n' I'm not bothered by you explaining what the list is. I'm going to do this - you're a fantastic journal mentor 😊
Glad the repetition wasn't bothersome! 😄💜 I think I'll have to add a pinned comment or something for next time we do a "what even is this?" video 😝
😅even for replay I think a slight pause would be appreciated it felt like i missed something at the start.
Just like a few seconds of " ok let's start......"
You certainly didn’t miss anything! I went back to check cause I was worried I might have gotten cut off 😝 I just like to start getting right into it, haha
So loving this!! Thank you for going through this in real time and how to get ideas for your trigger list but only use what fits your life.
Most welcome! 💜 All about people having a list that is tailored for them 😄
Dónde estas nosotros🌺🌺🌺
I'm in New Zealand 😊
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that doesn't like the term "brain dump". I usually title that page or section "Brilliant Ideas"
I made it to the point where you said "if you make it to this point...." I work with children, so.... repetition is EVERYTHING.
Made it to 2:07 and not tired of hearing you... say anything! haha! Watched it in 2 halves, though. 🌿M
Brain dump wise - what I'm using at the moment translates to collect your thoughts!
Hmm, how about putting a printout of the book cover in the blank space?
Hi Jess! I'm going on a trip soon and I've been trying to think of things that would be good prompts for when traveling for my journal. Do you have any travel journal triggers?
I've got a video with travel journal ideas which might help you think of some prompts: ua-cam.com/video/KbrgUwj-Xb0/v-deo.html but I don't have any travel journaling prompts ~specifically~ 😝 hope that helps and that you have a fun trip! 💜
I don’t have the time to do this as well as the BuJo. Sounds like BuJo is going down by the way side. Duplicating work?
Not so much? This is a make-once-use-many type deal. The list I'm making is to "trigger" the thoughts that might need to get captured on an effective brain dump. It's a tool to help me with my weekly list making and what not; you use along alongside bullet journaling 😝
Re: other name for Brain DumpSpot for thoughts?
Thank Jeebus you started singing "Jump Around". I cannot hear that phrase without that song popping in my head. 😂
Haha glad I'm not the only one 😂💜
I use brain drops … GET IT DONE... or extraordinary thoughts for the term BRAINDUMP
Good terms 💪 I like that "brain drops" brings up feelings of rain for me, haha
🕷🖤🧡🌻🍿🍷I love how artistic you are..I want to win just want the markers!!!❤❤
Thanks! I wonder if this comment was intended for a different video (just as it doesn't seem to fit the context) but I appreciate it all the same! 💜
Label stickers!!!! Genius!!! 😍
Hello! Here watching!
Glad to have you here! 😄💜
Your font is too small to read.
On the document or in the journal? 🤔 can't do much about the journal because that's my preferred writing size, but the document is linked in the description box and you can save a copy and change the font size on your one 😄💜
Trigger = Catalyst
That's a good way to think about it, yeah 😄💜
@@JashiiCorrin Just realized the play-on-words: Cata-list lol! although I'm a "dog person" but Dog-a-list doesn't work! haha!
Love it and love the flexibility. My schedule is similar and variable so I have no desire to try to make a time blocked ideal week.
