Okay but that ending though? It broke my heart. I didn't not expect it. He just snapped out of his euphoric state. All because of Ballantines? I did not see that coming. But I love that the beginning and the ending match but also if you combine just the two of those scenes, it is its own story. So the main plot is the euphoric state, chasing after a girl who he did not kiss. And then the subplot is this unknown lady and the bartender who loves Ballantines so much that he kissed it and got lost in the moment, forgetting to serve the lady.
The euphoria, he caught to this girl but he never got to kiss her. But also there is the possibility that the bartender saw this unknown lady which in the euphoria we never got to see face - so might be the same person and this is dreaming about kissing her. But he ends kissing Ballantines instead.
Maybe he kissed it cause it was her preferred drink and he felt like kissing it, it's like kissing her. Because she is out of his league and probably was never going to hit on her. But all he could do is dream. Let a man have his moment.
