Le Batard says these little things that could be argued to be innocuous but they don't FEEL innocuous. When he talked about Pat on All the Smoke he mention "the little cowboy hat" and here, he called Pat "the punter" several times. Despite all the posturing and "We love Pat" what could be seen as verbal glad-handing, those quick remarks seem to have a twinge of condescension and are reductionist.
And when your ears are up and looking for mother fuckers to say ill shit, you pick up on those frequencies.
This. And while we're breaking it down accurately & simplistically... Pats basic issue with Dans comments are Dan doesn't even understand the field of play and rules of the game Pat is operating under... 'So WTF are you commenting as though we are the same and you understand what I have going on'.

So many of the comments posted to this video are by people who have podcasts and videos playing in the background as noise, and when challenged why they aren't listening, they typically argue about 'hearing' the same podcast,etc. as everyone else, and they rarely pick up on the distinction.

Our culture throws away those with knowledge and thinks that new and lack of experience, because it’s usually louder, is better. Aren't we getting close to the point where there's so many of these shows that they just dilute the product as a whole? It's just starting to become noise pollution. And this isn't just in regards to athletes but to podcasts as a whole.

Constantly referring to him as “the punter” in what can be seen as condescending and derogatory while also trying to persuade the audience that there might possibly be only 1 true slight ever being thrown at Pat is another example as to why I think the show has slowly deteriorated over the years. Also, the episodes without Mike Ryan are far superior to those with his influence. Just my 2 cents.

It’s journalists Vs athletes. And the athletes are belittling the professionalism of journalism any chance they get. Many of them had beef with journalist, and the fact that they even had to engage journalists. Old Vs new media is code for that. Period. It’s an interesting to bed but unfortunately the media power execs get to sit back eat their popcorn, and watch the athletes and the journalists eat each other in this new space… all for clicks. Le Batard is pretty humble in his approach here.

I would say yeah they have been critical of Pat at times but Dan has been consistent in praising Pat’s success and rooting for athletes in the media space
The stars aligned for Pat beyond his natural charisma and confidence and ability to talk. The thing that sealed it was being drafted to the Colts at just the right time where he became good friends with Peyton. And then he was teammates with Darius Butler and Dan Orlovsky and Jeff Saturday. If he had been drafted by any other team, he wouldn't have made those connections.

I love Pat. I don’t always agree with Pat. I kind of know what his politics are but he has not said them. And if I’m right, I wouldn’t agree with them either. I dislike that he has faith in Rodgers. I hate Rodgers’ view points. I like him as a quarterback and athlete. Would’ve welcomed him to the Cowboys last year with arms wide open. I love Pat being a part of the WWE. He is refreshing there as a commentator and sometimes performer.
