I want to see Session do well, but I want Skater XL to improve as well. If you count the skateboarding coming to Riders Republic, there's currently 6 skateboarding games that are currently competing for our attention. I gotta say, this is fun, but we are going to be doing a lot of back and forth playing and trying to balance all these games.

Creature had posted the session teaser but the game didn't exist yet. From what I remember the session devs had decided to go for a fully 3d/open world skate game as apposed to the on rails/line based game they were planning to make after the reception to their teaser.
Seems to me that the developers for XL have completely given up. I don’t play on PC and what was released on console is and has remained a total travesty. I’m really surprised a suit has never been filed due to the completely unacceptable final product they released for console players.
Some tricks look a little odd in session but nothing beats the look of a proper frontside flip in session, it might be the most satisfying feeling when you pull it off clean

Also, don't know if everyone chooses to have huge decks in they game but it appears like everyone is riding a 9.5 or is a little kid covered in tattoos, cause every modder has to be sleeved up.
ever since i got session, i completely stopped playing skater xl, literally have like 50 hours in xl and almost a thousand in session. imo it has and will remain the better skating game. no question.
i still havent outdone my 735 hours in xl in this game lmao but i honestly have enjoyed session a bit more for the past almost 2yrs and it keeps getting periodic updates at least

Love the aesthetic and it fit like a glove the second I started playing (usually every new game I start feels weird).

XL is way too easy. Also. In Session flick direction matters want a good hard flip slow half scoop and a slow boned kick flip perfect rotation. People want session to be easy and its not. Skateboarding isnt easy , and for a legit skate SIM it shouldnt be easy, master the skill like in real life. Its all opinion, though. When it comes to grind pinches we all know session takes the cake.
If session was frozen in its current state forever it would still be a game I play on/off for years to come. The biggest two improvements I hope to see soon is a final end to wheel bounce*, and animation for board throw downs. *I wonder whether wheel bounce is here to stay due to the way the physics of the game works. When you do everything properly you can achieve a proper animation, wheel bounce seems more or less my fault when it happens. Just visually you look at the screen and say "but come on that was a land" lol.
Hard flips, inwards and varials look different depending on the angle of the flick if you flick downwards rather than to the side for hard flips it looks a lot better
Session is better and the next update will be huge , when it comes to Manuel flip, scoop, and boning tricks. Flip tricks dont look so weird if you play on manuel flip and scoop.
Just patiently waiting for skate 🙏🏿 I like session too tho it just needs endless amounts of fixes so many that I don’t feel like typing it all ……..once they actually hire some more people the games potential is thru the roof
I bought XL and refunded it to buy session after watching some videos on it. I came from Skate 3 and was tired of playing something that felt so unrealistic (don't get me wrong I love the game). The XL animations and physics felt to arcadey and less realistic as to where session just looks more realistic to me. Will definitely get XL again in the future though just to have an alternative
Look man session is the best we got right now. But the ONLY thing i want in session is bail animations, somehow catch yourself from falling or roll it out and pop back up and keep skating
Session's customization clothing wise is pretty small which doesn't allow players to express themselves. More clothing more skatebrands/board brands. Such like Bones wheels/More thunder trucks/more venture/independent just like real life.
Session is by FAR superior, but when i dont feel like doing realistic and i wanna play a "Skate" or a "THPS" vibe, i go to the Arcady Skater XL.. also it has Multiplayer.. I pray sessions gets Multi soon.
Session is better gameplay-wise, no question. (I am biased) Only played Skater XL less than a handful of times, and I loosely follow the game because some people I know play it more - the devs for XL seem better in terms of being there for the community. In terms of featuring players on socials etc Session devs come across like they don’t give af about community IMO - happy to be proven wrong.

I’m afraid I’m ruined for the release of skate 4. I didn’t like session at first but now i can’t imagine doing any other game. Skate 4 all of a sudden looks silly. Hope that feeling goes away
Why are we paying full price for an unfinished game? Having to put out constant updates to “fix” and “improve” the game is something that should be done before the “RELEASE DATE”. The game looks unfinished. Your content is awesome though

Overall session is better, but I do play skaterXL time to time because it has a better feel, it’s controls feel so much free, to session it has that locked feel, like a kickflip will be a kickflip, like that’s super obvious but in SkaterXL if you try a kickflip but aren’t sharp with it, it can tweak to a varial flip and it feels better even though the physics are bad
having to wait for higher pop in session kills it for me. skate and skater xl allow you to time tricks off ledges and on rails way easier and it also makes it so you can't do a trick immediately after landing one in session. kills the flow.
I played this so hard on game preview, then the "full release" (what a joke) came out without grabs and I stopped playing. I NEED grabs. It's still nowhere near complete.
Going off memory here… Modded Shake Junt grip, 9.5 Heroin Anatomy of an Egg board, Default trucks probably 149 or 159 and I think Spitfire wheels probably 56 to 60mm!
Session is light-years ahead of Skater XL. I tried playing Skater XL after over 60 hours on Session and it's a night and day difference and Skater XL just feels stiff and laggy compared to Session. Graphics are also a joke compared to Session.

Man I grew up skateboarding my whole life. Ordering completes out of CCS magazines in the early 2000's and watching sponsor videos from Industrial rideshop (if you know, you know). Skating with Elissa Steamer in San Fran on the Embarcadero. I'm fucking so glad that the world of skateboarding is still thriving. This game brings back hella memories
I truly want both games to succeed but neither of them is where they *should* be. Both games are glorified tech demo's touted as full 1.0 games. That's just not the case and unfortunately the community just accepted that and trashed on the people that openly criticize them for it. Creature lost a *lot* of my respect with their latest $20 DLC and how their social media manager handled the backlash. For $20 you can buy a whole-ass indie title. In fact, around $20 is what I paid for Session when it was in early access. $20 for a medium sized map, a handful of placeable objects, and a few pieces of gear is an *abysmally* offensive ask. I totally understand that studios as small as Creature need to fund themselves but it was priced and handled so poorly that there was a period where I resented even opening the game because of it. Easy Day lost my respect moons ago with just how openly they hate on their player base and tell them they are wrong for wanting the things they do. I don't even play XL anymore.
I think if you want to play realistically Skate 4 will definitely feels and plays better than Session, which by far on console is the game with the worst gameplay ( bugs,d bad physic, super stiff, from my experience at least) a skate game NEEDS a great gameplay and needs to feel great wich I think Session doesn't , but hey, this is just my opinion based on my experience, the thing of Skate 4 is that you are not stick to only realistic or only Arcade, you can play it however you like

Session its a great game make with a few people a massive and deep free skateboarding. And the to do list for found bugs( now suported by JL nightmare and your comunity) its super big as like the wish list of the players. But what take me really sad its people dont understand this fact, and judging the whole game when found a bug. EA GAMES destroyed uncountable small studios and dont gives for the public a satisfated awser about why they do that. And crea ture studios why all the problems listen the public and make the things happen . I dont agree with the fact they have problems since early acsess and dont fix then for put a little story or make more maps. But im glad they expands that. Anyway session for me its the best expirience in the moment of skateboarding.

I think the session creators should take a break from the skateboarding part and try and finish designing the city. Moving cars, just more realism. Nobody is catching them on sim gameplay.

My only bad thing i Don't like on Session but i hope they fix it, is that the skating just feels janky or doesn't flow like XL
What's happening with skater xl? When was the last update? They came out with a video showing the future and then went dark. SXL is shit without mods.
