      I think you're thinking of the airbnb in the 7 Lagos video? That was actually in Bariloche. About a 10-minute walk from the main plaza. Though you should be able to find several places just outside of town accessible by public transport. Check on Airbnb, booking, and Mercado Libre. There are a ton of buses that run along the main road between Bariloche and the Circuito Chico, so as long as you get a place close enough to that main road, you should have no issue at all with transportation.

    Hi Nicki!
    Have you heard about some "relief" for foreingers with the dolar situation? I heard a vague reference to a new type of tourist card or something to that effect, to try to help tourists to get the better rates without having to resort to Western Union and wads of cash.
    I'm going to Buenos Aires for 2 weeks in June and it would be interesting to know, plus it gives you an excuse to do an update video :)
    Love your content, I have watched every single video from Argentina, I may move to the other countries you have :) Thank you for your work!

    • @NickiPostsTravelStuff
      @NickiPostsTravelStuff  Рік тому +1

      Hey Anabella, thanks for watching. So it is true that Argentina recently changed so that in theory you can receive a 'tourist rate' (not as good as blue dollar, but slightly less) when you pay with your credit card. This started in November but when I tried it, it didn't work. I still got charged the red rate. But then I heard that in mid-late December, Visa and Mastercard WERE charging the tourist rate. HOWEVER, it takes a few weeks to get a refund. So you'll see the transaction first in the red rate, then a few weeks later you'll see the difference appear on your credit card statement. I would say you should try a test. Pay for something fairly cheap with your credit card, and see how it goes. Definitely don't rely solely on your credit card at first. I think Argentina will be mainly a cash based society for a long time to come. Good luck! :)

    Hello Nicki. Thank you for your useful video. We are planning to visit Bariloche in January. Whenever we can avoid renting a car (like areas with great public transportation or very affordable taxis) we don't rent a car. We like hiking a lot. como alguien que vive en bariloche, si te gusta caminar, lo mejor es comprar tarjeta sube y de ahí moverte en transporte publico hacia lugares de naturaleza, conocer las lineas de transporte, cuales paran en el lugar que estas y que recorridos hacen, taxis y remises tienen sus contras, los choferes intentan sacar toda la ventaja que tienen frente al turista cobrándote tarifas altas y sin mencionar que es posible que cuando necesites uno no encuentres disponible, en cambio el colectivo que es como se le llama al transporte publico aca, no suele fallar, tienen una frecuencia de 20-30 minutos, y lo unico malo es que talvez en verano se llenan pero a diferencia de los taxis, son mucho mas economicos, espero haber podido ayudado y que tengas un buen estadia nuestra ciudad :)
