Three new houses in the El Paso area were inspected and found to have deficiencies in their attic accesses and the roof spaces around those attic accesses. All three new houses have cables within 6 feet of the attic accesses that are not protected and two of the new homes have attic accesses that are blocked from entry. The third new house has a HVAC unit installed in the attic and its attic access meets none of the requirements for a HVAC unit installed in the attic.
