I dont blame the aunt for cutting her off at that time. People with addiction are at the highest level of toxicity and can easily drag you down mentally. At some point, you have to let go and let them hit rock bottom and hope they will be fine. She must work on gaining forgiveness instead of being a victim. The aunt is a victim here. She must put herself in the aunt's shoes.

@tezulumagagula It is not only about stealing. Addicts are highly manipulative and toxic and will gaslight you to the max. The aunt was the closest thing she had meaning the manipulation and all that was felt by her the most. She probably said those things out of anger, she must give context within which that was said. I'm sure this is going to be another very educative episode, I'm so glad that we are slowly opening to discuss gambling as black people, many people are addicted to it
A gambling addict and a drug addict is the same. They can steal, sell expensive stuff for less and ruin everyones lives in the family. They leave you with no choice but to distance yourself from them, because they will take you donw with them and you will end up paying their debts. And sometimes they attract dangerous people to your house.
I am a recovering drug addict who has been clean for 6 months now. Although this is about a gambling addiction, this story resonates with me SO much. Being a manipulator and a liar. Losing everything and everyone important to you. People forgetting that you were not always that person and just walking away from you. Having an addiction is the worst.
My sister she once though of even committing a suicide becouse she was owing a lot of people becouse of gambling but she has overcome the situation by the Grace of God, I believe this woman will recover all what she has lost, thanks Owami you're the best my Ninja 💐💕😘

My spirit is so crushed watching her cry..... I hear you mama but God forgives, built ur relationship with God first anyone anything doesn't matter now u need to heal first 😭😭I felt that when she said she just wants to rest and not woke up anymore.. Agh mama there is a purpose In your story, don't give up 😢😢
The reason I never like gambling is because I had watched the movie “ the croupier “ Casino hve one winner only the casino that makes money no one else. They use players that are trained to make you get addicted. The mathematicians and all these cameras on top of you watching you playing, they are watching the winners and their consent is winner. Look how they treat the winners , and u will bring back the money , the treatment is special hence u come back when u have money and see why u hve to act bigger when in those tables.
They did not bring them to benefit the society. They brought them to destroy families. In the 70s and 80s they brought beer halls (Jabulani) into the communities but never build swimming pools, tennis courts, parks or recreational halls because they do not care.
@nezialytifa1593 as much as it's necessary to motivate us it's also dangerous, I nearly fell in the same trap but I woke up once I lost my job and the same family I was trying to help was telling me how useless I was because I didn't have any savings, they forgot about all the things I've done for them ,that's when I learned to put myself first without any pressure to impress the family ,that pressure can take you to an early grave
This girl is a liar She said her husband was quiet and she would use his salary to gamble his money and OOO he was abusive, so you were not scared of an abuser spending his salary HAYSKAAA 😂😂😂😂
I can definitely relate to the whole story. Everything mentioned I have done. Self exclusion for the longest term in the best start. The government is fully aware of what impact and damage the casinos are doing to the communities. The bottom line is greed and human life becomes very insignificant. Thank you for sharing this. As a struggling addict I have also learned from what you have shared and I wish I could share my own story..Everyone who is struggling with this please know you are not alone. Owami saying, "You're saving so many people right." My heart dropped! The powers behind addiction, any form of addiction really, are crippling. Seeing someone you love go through those motions and lose them right them in front of your eyes is a grief not even death can come close to. Knowing that anything you say or do cannot shake them back into who they once were is disheartening! I can understand the people who leave when the going gets HARD and I can understand the one's who stay too... Miss Kaymo, my heart and prayer's will be with you tonight. There's no shame or guilt too great for Jesus. My hope in all of this, is for restoration and healing to truly take place in your life and everyone around you.
Very true, gambling is demonic. I got delivered from it through my Salvation. That was years and years back. Gambling is demonic cos you tell yourself that you will make it big and continue gambling. Praise God for His grace by saving me. I can't thank God enough

Owamie, the hairstyle , the make up!!! Hunay you are shining bright like a dayimane 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Edit: My… what a sad story but thanks for telling it beautiful lady. Strength to you. ❤️
This is exactly my Mom's story. Its crazy how I am seeing or atleast hearing this from a person who was a gambler. My mom never talks about it, we aren't so close but I have a heart for her. Sometime this week she said "I am glad I am managing money well " from the business she started. I am so proud of her in ways I can't even explain. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 My mom was in jail at some point, she couldn't raise me because of this addiction, It was a family secret, they treated her horribly, like she did not matter. But I love her with everything in me even though we aren't that close. God allowed me to see her as a human being 1st before seeing her as my mom.
Oh maan, your mom seems to be hurting from the things sha can't talk about. I'm glad you understand her though it must be very hard for you. Stay in prayer
@@Tiish600 yohhh I can.. I understand Her. Some things I may not understand but I try by all means not to judge. It also affected me however I see her, I have this heart for her No one can ever take away. No matter what my family says or how they treat her, I see her for who she is. ♥️♥️
When she said we should stop over burdening our selves because thats where it starts, stop over burdening your selve with family responsibilities, stop with I wanna make them proud and breaking generational curse... That's when I knew I have to delete all the gambling app in my phone I haven't lost much but I lose with the hope of hitting a big win and change situation sako jareteng Thanks for this episode
Strength to you sis. Please forgive your aunt. One thing that addicts all over the world have is BLAME. They feel like one person had super powers to change them yet they don’t understand how a burden it is to care for an addict. Carers are encouraged to walk away for their own mental health otherwise they will be dragged down the path too. Forgive your aunt, you clearly weren’t the easiest person to deal with. Much love ❤
So sorry you went through alll this. But do not blame your aunt. You have to take full accountability. You put your family through a lot. Praying for your healing.
Her aunt really hurt her. I think it’s because she looked up to her, but also, she needs to put herself in the aunt’s shoes. She also hurt her aunt a lot and she needs to take accountability for that.
1st thing 1st this lady needs to acknowledge that the aunt is hurt and hurt by her doing and we don't know how deep it went, people think an apology fixes everything and it doesn't fix anything let her heal her own way
ACCOUNTABILITY first. I totally agree. As she is saying her aunt was like a mother, imagine her pain. She stole from the other mother a lot already, we don't know how much the aunt had to endure. I understand that as a daughter she needed a hug but I also understand the aunt.
@@RethabileThobs it wasn't easy my dear, and people that gets hurt the most are your loved ones. I can write a book my dear. I should have been a divorcee a long time ago,but by the grace of God ,we are celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary on the 28 September.
Owamie. Can we please have this Lady back one day when she has healed. When she is on the road of healing please please please because I really want her to explain so that Us also know the signs that we must look out for, What we can do to help even for us what we should never do to get hooked and all that. I could just Listen to her all day. She can Really Teach us. Please?
Things that promise money for no work ...or get quick rich schemes you must stay away from. If you are selfish, love money, are greedy and tell a lie about being in the casinos....all that opens you up to gambling. You need the Lord to pull you out of it,,,but YOU must be ready to change
That question you asked Owamie about her Aunt it was necessary! Good question indeed. Because what if the Aunt herself didn't know how to help her prior to what happened.
And educated or not the impact of addiction is immeasurable, just like we deal with grief differently, whether you're a politician or not. Politicians are human too.
Your cry pierced my heart.. Especially when you talked about your kids. I wish it was possible to give you a long warm hug. Draw yourself closer to God. You will be fine. I wish you nothing but the best.
As an Aunt myself who has raised my sisters kids as mine. I don't think she should be blamed for your choices and decisions. If you love your niece you would do all that you can to save her until you realize you need to choose yourself. To be honest you would have done the same thing you did to your Mama. My kids (niece's) know I love hard but I've almost lost my own life one time due to stress from one of the kids. I've allowed one now to live however she want because I did my best.
mY 2 Cents is that this lady needs to extend the same grace to her aunt that she feels she needed at that time. From an empathetic point of view she must realize that when you do something you can not control how people react. That is taking responsibilty for how her loved ones treated her during that time, they probably had never expereinced anyone with a gambling addiction, it was also their first time. Baxolele sisi and understand that you are the one that was the cause of the relationship breaking and sometimes its ok to admit you were the villian in the situation. I have done this internal work myself and its not easy but if i am being honest, I lost some relationship because of who I was.
And this addiction affected people at deeper levels that she'll never understand. If she goes for counselling she'll understand why her aunt felt that way and not behave like a victim. She hurt people and doesn't give a context as to how those statements were said. I can imagine the ex husband hates her to the core as well.
I have a brother with drug addiction after listening to her story im in tears bcz we tried bt failed and im in tears feeling like we failed him as we all just stopped trying 💔
I agree. I 100% feel for her and I hope she gets the help she needs as well as the healing. However, she also needs to realise that she was a toxic human to others in whatever form that is to people and they have/had every right to distance themselves from you because you are costing them - be it mentally, financially, emotionally etc. She needs to realise that her aunt was probably hurting from seeing her child go through such a destructive habit and compromising so much including her own house and car. I don’t think it’s a matter of not loving you anymore, I think she just didn’t want herself destroyed as well. You are looking good now sisi but you also need to realise that just because you are now clean all is good. People are still bleeding from the wounds you cost them, including your aunt probably. She was harsh, yes, but she probably was trying to protect herself and maybe get you to decide to stop. You had a community and you destroyed it. Sadly you cannot dictate how people react to when you hurt them. You just have to rebuild and reconcile with those who are willing.
This is a sign for me, because as much as I know that I have an addictive personality, for some reason I felt the edge to learn aviator game on Betway. Thank God for this episode.

@@elvisndlovu1232This has been hidden in our community and is not talked about, but so many people are suffering from gambling addiction. You have just opened a can of worms. You can't correct what you don't acknowledge. Just like an alcoholic, you have to admit that I am an alcoholic, before you can start going to the alcoholic anonymous. I'm sure this is going to be another very educative episode, I'm so glad that we are slowly opening to discuss gambling as black people, many people are addicted to it
The is power in owning your story!! Never allow anyone, including yourself to put you in a place where you will feel embarassed about your past!
A gambling addict and a drug addict is the same. They can steal, sell expensive stuff for less and ruin everyones lives in the family. They leave you with no choice but to distance yourself from them, because they will take you donw with them and you will end up paying their debts. And sometimes they attract dangerous people to your house.
Precisely....I walked away!
I didn't know gambling addiction was this bad, thanks for sharing. I wish our sister a speedy recovery from all she is going through.
Congratulations on your recovery. That is awesome. Wishing you continued success.
What addicts don’t understand is the amount of pain their addiction inflicts on their love ones. It hurts deeply!!!
Being addicted is even more painful. It's not fun at all

I hear you mama but God forgives, built ur relationship with God first anyone anything doesn't matter now u need to heal first 😭😭I felt that when she said she just wants to rest and not woke up anymore.. Agh mama there is a purpose In your story, don't give up 😢😢
The reason I never like gambling is because I had watched the movie “ the croupier “
Casino hve one winner only the casino that makes money no one else.
Casinos should be very tightly regulated or even banned. They don't benefit society.
They did not bring them to benefit the society. They brought them to destroy families.
In the 70s and 80s they brought beer halls (Jabulani) into the communities but never build swimming pools, tennis courts, parks or recreational halls because they do not care.
No u should just smart winners know when to stop its written on the sites
But it’s a business, just like one can say alcohol doesn’t benefit society
Thank you for opening up sis, you just opened my eyes. No more Hollywood bet for me. I didn't know it can get this bad.
same thing said to myself after listening to this episode, she really did open my eyes..i was on my way there..
This part of wanting to make your family proud, it's very important to talk about this, thank you because that's what kills a lot of people...:
@nezialytifa1593 as much as it's necessary to motivate us it's also dangerous, I nearly fell in the same trap but I woke up once I lost my job and the same family I was trying to help was telling me how useless I was because I didn't have any savings, they forgot about all the things I've done for them ,that's when I learned to put myself first without any pressure to impress the family ,that pressure can take you to an early grave
How can someone loan you a car that is not paid back and she AVOIDED THAT QUESTION 😂😂😂😂🎉
This girl is a liar
She said her husband was quiet and she would use his salary to gamble his money and OOO he was abusive, so you were not scared of an abuser spending his salary HAYSKAAA 😂😂😂😂

Much love ❤
Telling your story as a villain is hard I’m sorry mama ❤
And she did so well. The self awareness came through.
so is brave, hope she heals

So sorry you went through alll this. But do not blame your aunt. You have to take full accountability. You put your family through a lot. Praying for your healing.
Her aunt really hurt her. I think it’s because she looked up to her, but also, she needs to put herself in the aunt’s shoes. She also hurt her aunt a lot and she needs to take accountability for that.
My thoughts exactly she trusted her and couldn't take it , seating here i understand with no judgement .
She has a victim mentality, she tends to blame a lot of things about her life, i think she is a crooked person
I never took a cent from her
She's never done anything for me
I said she failed me by entertaining rumors
Such as me being drugs
May God help you sis, you have taken a big step by opening up, that's a first step to healing... Big hugs to you🤗🤗

Things that promise money for no work ...or get quick rich schemes you must stay away from. If you are selfish, love money, are greedy and tell a lie about being in the casinos....all that opens you up to gambling. You need the Lord to pull you out of it,,,but YOU must be ready to change
She need to come back.
No Owamie , please let’s have the FULL SONG……. I have been through hell and back….. no one to console me ……🎉🎉🎉🎉 that song lifts me up ⬆️
im busy trying to get the song😭😭😭❤
And just because you changed & is better....just because you stopped does not mean your victims have to except you or forgive you.
Thank you so much for sharing your story❤ you saving many of us🙏
