    Obviously a lot of thoughts in this video, but I want to hear from you guys as well! What are we thinking about this team??

  • @LiamEdelshtein
    @LiamEdelshtein 2 місяці тому +4

    The vid I wanted for!
    I am very high on Portland - I love Scoot and think he can be a star, Sharpe I think can develop into a great scorer (Zach Lavine type), and Avdija is a do-it-all forward (looks like a Derrick white but SF, he is still young and growing).
    I think Simons should become a sixth man that gets starter level minutes, and Grant and Aston should be traded…
    I think they are closer to contention then people think. Scoot had a rough rookie season but he picked it up closing the year. This can change how people think about them…
    I know I wrote a lot but my bottom line is I believe that they should build around Scoot at PG, Sharpe at SG, Deni at the SF, find a PF, Clingan at C, and Simons as a sixth man that can play next to Scoot, next to Sharpe, next to both or alone

      @@LiamEdelshtein Yeah obviously a long way to go but they do have some good bones on this team! We just need to find a way to put them in a healthy position for growth now.

      @@_AVC_I totally agree, and I think it isn’t that far away.
      I believe they are 2 moves away from being in a good developing talent position.
      1. Is a must - trade Grant.
      2. Trade one of the centers - Ayton or Robert Williams.
      Trading Grant means more on ball reps for the young players (Scoot Sharpe Avdija Simons) and trading a center means Clingan can get all the backup Center minutes (and actually develop)

    • @_AVC_
      @_AVC_  2 місяці тому

      @@LiamEdelshtein That makes total sense to me! Find some shooters in those trades to put around those guys and you have at least an on court environment that is good for them.

    I think there's fantasy value in POR this year, primarily for deeper leagues. All 5 projected starters last longer in fantasy drafts than they should, but it's the early rotation players that really have my interest. I'm paying particular attention to Banton, Clingan, and Camara.

    Hi, Grant fan here. I have a suggestion; as you said, a lot of the video is about the rotation / depth chart. So, why not first briefly show the depth chart, simply, like this:
    5 man starting unit. 5 man second unit, show rest of team, by position, under the guys in the starting and second unit.
    Now, when you start talking about the goal of "balancing the roster", everyone will be right with you.
    Keep up the good work.

    Great work again... liking these preview vids!
    I'm not sure what to make of this team - so much to like and dislike. If they could somehow move Ayton, then a potential Williams/Clingan split at the centre spot would be intriguing. If Rob Williams stays healthy (that's a big if!!!), that could be one of the best-value contracts.

    Ayton is one of the best pick and roll centers in the league. He can pop and a lob threat. CP3 and Ayton were elite in Phoenix. Scoot is the problem he needs to learn how to use screens.

    Starting rotation will be Ant at PG, Shaedon at SG, Deni, Grant and Ayton. Scoot off the bench. Need to move Ant. Ant and Scoot do not play well together. Will need to keep Ayton till at least the trade deadline to get Clingin ready. They will show that Timelord is healthy and then move him. Grant is hurting the development of others such as Camara. So, Grant and Thybulle will need to be moved. Collecting more assets and developing the younger nucleus. Cronin is pragmatic but will get there eventually. In the video u were not sure where the blazers 2029 pick. The Washington Wizards have it via Deni Avdija trade. To fix the blazers roster issue i think they waive graham since i believe hes the only non guaranteed contract and is pushing 30 yrs of age. You wondered why anfernee simons hasnt been traded and thought perhaps he wants to be in portland but well i remember anfernee said a few months ago "We don't want to have another year like this. My sixth year is done now, going into year seven, I want to have the opportunity to win." So to me it sounds like he probably wants out soon
    But yeah i dont think anyones shocked at the blazers being last in the west. I think moving simons makes sense however when i was looking at teams that could make sense it was hard to come up with any. I mean theres orlando but they just signed kcp and they got suggs so i mean unless someones willing to come off bench. Theres detroit but im not sure ivey, scoot, and shaedon makes sense. Jerami grant would make a ton of sense to be moved at deadline as a lengthy forward many teams would want. Robert williams im afraid his health probably scares teams away.
    I would probably drop robert williams mins to like 13 and play clingan 14. Display robert a little and not put so much on his body but also u just gotta play clingan. Ik u typically want to make younger guys earn mins however he should be ur big for the future and williams honestly could probably get bought out if he cant stay on the court so u should preserve him in the hopes of getting something.
    Im curious your thoughts on this random trade idea that took me basically 2 seconds to think of like the concept
    Bulls receive: ayton, thybulle
    Blazers receive: vucevic, lonzo, duarte, their own 2025 first round pick back (lottery protected from 2025-28 or else becomes a 2nd).
    Blazers can buy out lonzo or he can be backup and vet and like robert williams he could play limited mins.
