We definitely need an update on this one and a 10-things list for 2023!! Bring back this high quality channel please
Thanks so much, Max! Man, I appreciate the love. I've been so bummed about my lack of videos lately; I've just been so jam-packed with things going on. I'm underway on the latest video (though that keeps getting delayed) and can't wait to get back into the swing of things. Cheers!
"Am I gonna get them all?"...."who cares!?" ...
The best and most honest UA-cam line of the year... both last year and this year ha ha ha.. brilliant man
Happy New Year, Dominic! Good to have you back. 🎉
Happy New Year!
I love this list! I just watched your waterrower review and as a fellow deal boi I felt immediately obligated to subscribe. So glad I did and I hope to see your channel grow. Thank you!
Oh man. Thank you so much, Jason! I appreciate the love.
Cheers!
Also love the Canadian Tuxedo!
Your videos are amazing! Best jeans I’ve had so far are the slim fit jeans from Club Monaco. Great quality and fit for the price. I have them in 3 colors. They fit the best of any jeans I’ve ever had!
And, for a bicycle - Sven cycles - hand made in the UK
Great stuff as always. Interested to learn more about these T shirts. Always looking for a next level white T.
Same!
For denim recommendations: RGT is great, but for what you described Japanese denim is definitely the way to go. Samurai, Blue Blue Japan or Momotaro are all great
This is awesome. I will check these out. Thank you!
Would love to see an update video on how many of these you picked up and how you like the ones you did!
A reminder I need to step up my fashion game 😩
Solid list! Bike all the way - it’s a game-changer!
Your channel is a reminder that I need to step up my VIDEO game! So good.
Man, pumped for a bike!
Excellent video! As a watch enthusiast, I reckon you should get a JLC reverso to go with your Exp1 and G shock. You would rock it so well!! Can get discounts on new ones and its a lot of watch for the money
Thanks, Walter!
Oh man, such a classic and clever watch.
since it's 2023 will you do an update on the things else you want to buy this year? I have a todd snyder x ll bean T shirt long sleeve, haven't worn a t-shirt at least in public a lot since high school but I like the design and got it.
I know you’re looking for higher end jeans but urban outfitters dark selvage denim is great and pairs well with a shirt and navy jacket. At 50 bucks I’ve got like 4 pairs in case they get discontinued.
I got my first Rogue Territory a few months ago. Stanton 12.5 oz tinted weft. Can’t recommend them enough. The attention to detail is incredible.
Fantastic! Thanks so much for the rec!
Just discovered your channel and enjoyed your style of reviewing all the good stuff I already own too.
I guess you are looking for a pair of Iron Heart 555‘s or 777‘s 21oz Denim that would round up your style. The 555‘s also available in black which fade to a beautiful grey by time.
Great content, love your vids.
Thanks so much for the love!
Man, another Iron Heart rec. I’ve gotta look into these!
Cheers!
Just found your channel and I am really liking it! Subscribed. I highly recommend "Nudie Jeans", a Swedish company who makes great jeans/denim and are not that expensive. They are meant to be worn and showing your patinated Nudies kind of has its own subculture. I own several pairs with the "steady eddie II"-fit and i love them. I think the whole brand-profile and aestethic suits your style. Plus - free repairs for life! I´m not sponsored btw (wish I was).
Thanks for the kind words and the recommendation!
+ 1
Things *we’re buying. Great video, man!!
Hahaha it’s true! Style twinzzz
I got my first pair of Imogene + Willies back in 2010 after visiting their Nashville shop. I haven't worn anything other than their jeans since. There is no design on the back pockets and the only branding that can be seen at all is a tiny "+" on the left pant leg. They're the epitome of IYKYK. I've spotted them in the wild and when I do people are equal parts impressed and a little creeped out. The selvedge denim is top notch. Based on your description, I think your best bet for style is the Barton Slim Indigo Rigid JP. Breaking them in isn't the most comfortable process ever, but once you do... look out.
“Equal parts impressed and a little creeped out” haha
Thanks, Jonathan! I visited I+W’s Nashville shop years ago and have been a fan ever since. I’m planning on trying out a pair. They look fantastic and I love their whole aesthetic.
What a list WOW! Thank you for those great ideas, my wallet is not happy though 💸
Thanks, Rodrigo!
Haha I feel ya! Buy once, cry once :)
For Denim check out Iron Heart, Pure Blue Japan, Rogue Territor ( you mentioned), Benzak Denim Developers, RRL...
Thank you! I will check these out. Pure Blue Japan have been mentioned to me multiple time. I've gotta give them a good look!
Tellason Denim, Their website leaves a lot to be desired, but the denim is spot on. I have the rogue territory as well, but the shape of the back pockets with the lasso stitch can make them a little hipster-ish IMHO.
I know I'm a bit late, but those first 5 seconds were AMAZING!!
Haha thanks :)
Jeans - Orslow 105 ivy model - you won't regret it!
Jeans? Try Iron Heart with the tonal stitching (so you don't see the gold thread). I am pretty sure the IH-555 is your fit. Order the size you wear in other jeans. Have them hemmed .5" longer than you want them ultimately.
Awesome rec! Thanks! My buddy just got a pair and has been raving about them.
@@dominicscalise I have bought three, yes 3, pairs in the last month. I got three different fits and love them all. They are truly as perfectly made I imagine a pair of jeans can be. And...wow, what sick fades they can produce. Don't wash them in the machine, though. This is a whole new kind of game that would take a particular type of person to endure.
Tellason Jeans. Elgin model. 14.5 or 16oz denim.
Oh my god. These might be it!
Thanks, Emerson!
And for jeans, gotta try COS. Button fly. No metal on the pockets, keeping your watch clean from scratches. No-fade class. I wear the regular fit and they’re perfect. Slim, but roomie. Best 100 bucks you can spend on jeans imo. Cheers!
Yessss. This all sounds great.
Thanks so much! I’ll be checking these out.
check out the Kamakura denim shirt - made of natural indigo, unlike many other brands
Thanks! I'm a big Kamakura fan.
Nice list
Thank you!
I've been a common project owner for about eight years. Two years ago I tried a crown north Hampton sneaker. IMO, I find them to be fairly superior in most aspects. Have you considered them? All hand made to order.
I appreciate the rec, Mike! These look well-made and fairly priced.
There are definitely higher quality sneakers out there; I’ve just yet to find anything as visually stunning as CPs. The proportions on them are so sleek.
Vitsoe shelving must be on the top of this list!
It's up there alright
Enjoy ur style of presentation, content and philosophy.. I suggest Jacob Cohen jeans.. v high quality denim used and made in Italy.. u should at least have 1 in ur wardrobe,..👖
Thank you, Sunjay! I’m gonna give these a look. Much appreciated
For the jean, just go with the french brand A.P.C maybe ?
Thanks for the recommendation!
Jeans recommendation: Orslow 107 Ivy Fit 👖 A classic!
I'll look into these! Thanks, Aridan!
Do you have a playlist on Spotify?
I've got several! Here's my Spotify profile: open.spotify.com/user/1225951761?si=550e787512a348f2
If you want a well-made simple pair of jeans that fit great, can’t go wrong with Freenote Cloth. Don’t expect any crazy fades or outlandish weights tho
Damn, another vote for this company. Can’t believe I haven’t heard of them before.
Thanks for the rec!
Did you buy the Valstarino? And would you do a video review on it?
I haven’t got one yet! Definitely on the short list. Such a killer jacket.
@@dominicscalise yes indeed. Most versatile piece of outerwear that potentially can be worn (mostly) all year round
My dude, hope you still check these comments - 7 years as a QA for textile manufacturing - NUDIES Jeans are hands down the best quality I've ever seen in mass production - their mission of transparency continues to lead the industry - please take a moment to do the research. I've purchased a new pair every 3-4 years since 2008, after my first trip to one of their Italian factories
Hey!
I'm super active on here still; just been in the midst of a renovation with a property that is so time consuming. Can't wait to start producing content again - I miss it!
Thanks so much for this rec! I'm familiar with Nudies but never knew they were so well regarded. Appreciate your take as a QA. I'd be interested to know what other brands you hold in high regard.
Cheers!
@@dominicscalise Glad to hear you aren't gone! Your style take on High-Low was literally our industry strategy for Americana in 2007(Think rancher's son who got a free ride to Princeton). I'll be very honest, my 7 years of experiencing the bottom of the supply chain has changed me from a logo/brand hunter to the fashion equivalent of "Are these eggs free range Tri-star organic certified within the last moon-phase?" I won't even give a brand a chance if their RN serial tags on a piece traces back to experienced areas of terrible human rights issues involving mainly forced economic conversion to rely on textile manufacturing loans/debt; even in parts of Italy & Eastern Europe. Clothes are something I truly love, it broke my heart to see folks forced to make something I wear proudly, ya know? That being said, one interesting evolution of a brand happening right now is American Giant. It has recently done almost a full internal design team reboot to focus on fit and finish. I like the direction the team is taking with American mills partnerships and cotton treatment innovations(industry leading IMO)!
All City = perfecto. What ever happened to that Bianchi you had? That thing was legit.
That was a beautiful bike. I sold it some years back - it was a tough bike to ride in this hilly city!
You want the best jeans? You can get them custom fit to you. Try fitted underground.
I WANT THE BEST
Thanks! I will check them out.
I say go for Benzak Denim Developers, you’re welcome 😀
Never heard of them. I'll give them a look
Denim + Orslow = 107 great construction, rise, and fit.
Thanks, Bret!
Late to the party. Can’t recommend rogue territory enough. I’m also a big fan of Japanese denim, fan of momotaro
I’ll check them out!
I've never been told I'm uncool so many times in one video. (BUT after waiting nine longs months, I just got my Linus 10D Pronto delivered. It's no All-City but she's purrty)
JT!!! Well I feel uncool as the PRO pulls up to my amateur videos. You rule.
@@dominicscalise they’re so good! You either have a crew working for you or have done serious research into microphones, camera lighting, and video editing. 💯
Vest - mine is a Kuiu Digi Cam - much cooler and not so well "western"🤮
Denim - I have a few Imogen & willie jeans - they are good (a little light for my liking) Naked & Famous are real good and come in 16 oz plus weights
Polos r so 1999 & college
Denim shirt - I'm after a short sleeve dark linen/denim button-up - one pocket
13.3" MacBook air (not a fan of iPads)
Bicycle - consider getting an electric pedal assist bike - you will explore much further & for longer. (you can adjust the level of electric assist. I speak from experience.
Suede jacket - agreed - less greasy than leather - trust me I have my fair share of leather!
Sneakers - not a fan - I'm getting another pair of US-made urban manly bulletproof lifetime leather boots. Nicks Boots for this go-round - overbuilt and patina real nice.
Digi camo and urban manly boots - I think we’re on different wavelengths. Different strokes for different folks ain’t a bad thing. I appreciate the recs, Terry
@@dominicscaliseAll Good fun & of course YMMV.
I live and Die by Levi's
Try Jacob Cohen jeans
Thanks! I’ll give those a look
You can do better than Common Projects. Crown Northampton....Harlestone. MUCH better.
common projects are very well known to be poor quality. excellent marketing
I've read this stuff before.
My take as a long-time owner: leather could be better, but they are not poorly made. Inflated price, indeed, but they are also the OGs when it comes to the perfect sneaker silhouette. Everyone else is trying to chase them and missing the mark.
Just picked up a RMFB vest!
Backcountry sale (link below). Grabbed the regular vest, not the Christy. I have a feeling I’m gonna love this thing and then want a Christy next…
If you haven’t seen these recent videos of Kinji Teramoto walking through the archive and manufacturing process, I’d highly recommend checking them out:

Backcountry deal (got the “mustard” - I can see the patina now!):

Oh man! Congrats! Such a cool vest and classic look. Thanks for those links!
