to be fair the tree sentinel can be pretty tough if you try to fight it off the gate especially if its his first souls game, most people go past it and come back to it,
as a die hard its nothing, 2nd attempt, on my first playthrough, hadn't even gotten the Torrent yet, he has a ton of easily punishable attacks and only the shield slam was really wonky hitbox, however that area was super laggy on release.
If you told me there’s a town building a giant screen to block tourists from taking pictures with one of its mountains, my first guess would’ve been Japan. Their approach to problem solving seems to always communicate “what if an introvert was in charge of X facet of society?”

i failed bloodborne for 3 weeeks on the first boss the huge werewolf white lycan thing gave up for a year then came back beat the game in a few months then played elden ring as my second put at least 270 hours just exploring and collection all the weapons spells and items besides one beat the game then i played lies of p beat the game in a week collected everything besides one or two items and i noticed with after each journey i got exponetally better i feel ready for sekiro i gave up at the ape/apes i shall be victorius after i beat baldurs gate sekiro is next
That’s the way for us all. I tried Bloodborne in 2016 and gave up. Came back a few years later and got hooked. Played Sekiro, Elden Ring, and DS3. I’m playing through Elden Ring again to get ready for DLC and it is soooooo much easier than when I started in this genre.

same thing happened to me with sekiro, its really about enjoying trial and error and enjoying watching your build slowly come together as you piece together the world, honestly once it clicks the games are unlike any other

But also between work and family I just dont have time to spend 6 hours on one boss and just rage, I dont wanna rage I wanna have fun. I love open world games and I loved hard boss fights, I play every game on the hardest difficulties because I do like a challenge but something about there games and the mechanics that it's either too hard or too annoying, like not being able to cancel attacks or getting stuck in animations that fuck me up again it's all trial and error and I'm sure I would get used to it but it doesn't even feel worth my little time I have to game. There's more too, like im sure I'm wrong about all this but something about the games just don't click with me I want it to I just don't have the time and they annoy me
You are definitely not alone! What helped me grind my way through going into hard “souls games” was to start with much smaller scales games like 2D ones. Hollow Knight is the first one I ever finished and made my way to salt and sanctuary, then I played and beat remnant 2 then played lies of P and now I just finished dark souls 2 and will start the 3rd one. Until now I only played a few hours of each borne souls games and left them salty, frustrated and disappointed in myself (and so that’s counting like 10 years in the making!!)
