The shift from just piano to full band is one of my favorite parts of the song
But this solo acoustic seemed to achieve the same feel

Totally agree, also the chord changes into the f#maj7 is much more pronounced on the paino and gives the intro that real melancholy/nostalgic feel that I think is lost with just Dave and his guitar
how this man fills the entire stage with just his voice and a guitar is fucking insane to me. saw the band in Leeds last week and he sang Brothers, alone, with just a piano, and yet it felt like so much more than just that. he is truly an amazing performer, and him alongside with the band is fucking perfect. I truly hope we meet at some point in the future, but for now I'll be fine with the signed poster :)
When I say I'm obsessed with this band and his voice, I mean OBSESSED. My only aim in life now is to earn enough money to attend one of their concerts. I honestly think I'll die a happy woman if I can see them perform live at least once.

Just heard these guys for the first time this week - they played a snippet on the "Billions" series. I looked up the song and found these guys. Genius. Instant favorite. Have been listening to a steady stream of their music via Alexa last few days and the music is off the charts good. The Heart is a Muscle is one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Great performance and love this track. In my opinion, really think the piano intro would capture the essence of this piece in live performances. The gentle melodic piano intro masking the lyrics storytelling of the fear and trembling, anxiousness of being youthful. The reservedness before conquering those feelings which is when the youth’s shackles are broken. The rest of band enters symbolizing a fuller potential in embracing those emotions. Just my take tho. Cheers to a great piece

GOY aren't Christian rock. If anything they're 'agnostic rock'. The lyrics are about conflict with religion. Not sure exactly which one, but Dave talks about moving past the dogma of religion. It's more about spirituality than religion
However they did meet at hillsong and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were religious.
