My favorite thing about Eminem is how he takes schemes and makes almost everything a double or triple entendre.
Like, this song he takes allllll these religious phrases to go along with Yelawolf's message, but the whole time he's actually talking about HIS best friend Proof.
    Dude is an absolute wordsmith.

I agree with you most people deny that it is about proof. But it is. It reminds me of Stevie Knight when he first started breaking Eminem verses down and now he will tell you that Eminem is the best of all time and he doesn’t really care for Eminem songs but now he’s learning to listen and he has mastered the class him and Knox Hill. And now I have found you guys on here. I am loving it. Thank you for sharing your views with us or just me. ❤

Another reason why this is so impressive is because in You’re Never Over (a song for Proof from Eminem’s Recovery) Em says:
“For you, I wanna write the sickest rhyme of my life
So sick it'll blow up the mic, It'll put the dyna in mite
Yeah it'll make the dopest MC wanna jump off a bridge and shit himself
Tap dancing all over the beat, it'll jump off the page and spit itself
Yeah it's the best thing I could do right now Doody for you is to rep”
…on this song, many critics agree this is one of his best ever verses. For Em to take that promise to Proof n achieve it - woah. Skill level off the scale.

Song is about Proof starts out about God but from the Clint Eastwood line(Dirty Hary Proofs nickname) on he's talking in regards to sending you to heaven where Proof will deal with you. Fire reaction though 🔥
Also Iggy Pop was a rock star who was looked down on an shunned because he do crazy shit like destroy his instruments and break glass and stuff in his body durring his shows. Em's comparing himself and the crazy shit he says to the antics and showmanship of Iggy Pop imo

This is indeed one of Em's best verses (there are so many). The entire verse is a double as his best friend was and is Proof. And, so is the Lord. As Yelawolf's verse is directed to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is the reason the Lord instructs us not to judge and assures us that only He knows our hearts. Art and Faith are not mutually exclusive. Enjoyed this breakdown's recognition of Eminem's brilliance.

That's why I've always listened to him because he tells a story in every song and it has meaning and yeah it rhymes because he has it good like that!! Keep it up Eminem, let them hate if they want but it's on them because they don't understand so they aren't smart enough to get it!! Come on people!! Portugal here for the Goat Eminem always since day one and forever but also for other legendary OG'S and good stuff. Thanks for reacting to this legendary masterpiece. Salutes and respect.
Eminem is hated for some people, cause they cannot reach and are too slow to understand and appreciate bars and bars, double, quadruple entendres, and it is not easy to do.
People use to only listen to vibe and neglete the most important thing in a rap lyrical rapper, rhyme schemes, flows, storytelling, cadence, skills.
    Today people only want beats.
Eminem is my favorite and I trully believe he is the best to ever do it in the mic.
Still I cannot live without my Nas, Pac, and some others.
What he done for the game, funny, emotional, hungry, angry, controversial, he can battle rap, do cyphers, smash beefs, freestyle. You name it.
And for him to get to this level, he had to work 10 times harder than most cause he is white, a stupid thing judging this master ahead of his time, cause of skin color in 2023. Only in USA.
He is worshiped worldwide for more than 2 decades.
    Trully respect for your reation.

You were killin this until you thought he meant Iggy Azalea when Iggy Pop is an outrageous crazy antics (a la Slim Shady) lead singer of rock band “The Stooges” but MJ & LeBron don’t hit every shot, the illest emcees don’t always have A+ verses, etc etc 😅😆😅.
Fans of both of you in general and was happy to stumble onto this as a passionate HipHop head since 1991 (passionate then but rap fan since late 80s as early 80s baby) who LOVES the art of rhyme & ill lyricism, & rewinding!
Glad to hear you had the great Mickey Factz on here as well, bout to peep that episode.
Eminem haters (especially on social media it’s become a trend) about as corny as Em Stan’s who truly don’t know anything about hip hop (but non objective Stans of everyone are clowns not just Em fans) and act like he can do no wrong when he clearly can (he’s in my top1-10 GOAT tier with Black Thought Nas G-Rap Pharaohe Monch Common Big Pun Big L and 10 fluctuates between amazing slept on guys like Elzhi Locksmith Royce ChinoXL MC Juice Tonedeff Diabolic Cambatta R.A. That doesn’t include so many other ILL emcees too like Lupe Treach Rakim LL Redman Method Man KRS on and on.
The point is Top1-10 for ppl who truly know how much amazing stuff is out there is hard.
OBJECTIVELY Eminem is 1 of GOAT. It’s impossible to pick 1 (I believe same thing in basketball MJ & LeBron essentially Co GOAT and I’ve seen both 51/53x times live great seats respectively and love both even though they kept my Pacers out of 3 NBA Finals maybe 4! Both on my MountRushmore athletes), but when it comes to skills on the mic & with the pen when at his best he’s one the GOAT!
There’s a reason why 99% of the other illest ever (known legends from 80s-now, underground legends like MC Juice, to elite battle emcees) revere Em as an MC.
Go Google/youtube what Rakim, G-Rap, Kane, Pharoahe Monch, Nas, Jay-Z, Elzhi, Treach, Redman, Big Pun, Busta, Ransom, MC Juice, LL, Twista, BoneThugs, Common, Kweli, Royce, Crooked, Cambatta, Tonedeff, Ice Cube, Mickey Factz, Sha Stimuli, LouisLogic, TechN9ne, Conway, Benny, Lupe, Los, Locksmith, Black Thought, Chuck D, Missy, Cole, Kendrick, Canibus, JID, Jadakiss, Scarface, Phonte, Luda, Fab, Budden, Jean Grae, Rapsody, Sa-Roc, Cyhi, NickGrant, Andre 3000, Big Boi, K-Rino, AZ, ChinoXL and so many others have said either
“Em GOAT” (Rakim THE God MC! “If Em were black he’d be Muhammad Ali. Em is Nasty”)
    “Em Top3”
    “Em Top5”
    “Em Top8” (Kane)
    “Em Top10”
“No one has ever been iller”
“It’s like he got the whole package he got everything that dude is phenomenal.” (Kool G Rap! The Genius!)
“Can’t nobody mess with Eminem he’s in my Top3” (Busta)
“My favorite 3 emcees are KRS Biggie Eminem” (Redman!)
“My 3 favorite emcees are KRS JayZ Eminem” (B-Real)
“Eminem & Black Thought are rap computers. Their wizards!” (Chuck D)
“Lyrically Em one of the nicest”
“Me and Big Pun stood in line at line at the Feb 1999 Grammys weekend to get it at Tower records. He opened for us at Lyricist Lounge and murdered it. He was Pun’s favorite emcee. Him, black thought and then from 80s G-Rap & Kane” -Fat Joe-
Lord Finesse said Big L was a big fan of his underground from 97-98 even early 99 stuff before he passed.
Sorry I’m high as hell and a night 🦉 so my bad on the rambling.
I love talking hip hop (and other great emcees giving other great emcees live).
Sha is a slept on dope emcee himself who I have been a fan of for 22 yrs or so too!
Much respect fellas. I was impressed with this and will def peep more and share with my fellow hip hop head peeps.

But I got a feeling. Going after Em is like Jerry Stackhouse having to dunk after Vince Carter did a 360 windmill on the baseline.
Em continues to appreciate and praise Rakim, Treach, and LL every damn chance he gets.
How bout that lifetime Rock N Roll speech where he thanked everyone who influenced him alphabetically.

Would love to see you guys breakdown Eminem last verse on *My Dads Gone Crazy* IMO this is Eminem's best verse. It's always been one of my favorites.🔥
"My songs can make you cry, take you by surprise
At the same time, can make you dry your eyes
With the same rhyme, see, what you're seein'
Is a genius at work, which to me isn't work
So it's easy to misinterpret it at first, ‘cause when I speak
    It's tongue-in-cheek, I'd yank my fuckin' teeth
Before I'd ever bite my tongue, I'd slice my gums
Get struck by fuckin' lightning twice at once
And die and come back as Vanilla Ice's son
And walk around the rest of my life spit on
And kicked and hit with shit every time I sung
Like R. Kelly as soon as "Bump and Grind" comes on
More pain inside of my brain, than the eyes of a little girl
Inside of a plane aimed at the World Trade
Standin' on Ronnie's grave, screamin' at the sky
'Til clouds gather; it's Clyde Mathers and Bonnie Jade
And that's pretty much the gist of it
Parents are pissed, but the kids love it
9 millimeter heaters stashed in two-seaters with meat cleavers
I don't blame you, I wouldn't let Hailie listen to me neither

Iggy Pop is known by most as one of the Godfathers of punk rock. Dude was nuts. Also Em’s verse wasn’t about God, rather it was about his best friend.
    RIP Proof

There's 2 bars you misinterpreted, 1st Iggy Pop is a rock legend Who's had parallels to eminem in his life not an Iggy Azalea reference. Also his verse hes primarily referring to his best friend as proof he only uses God as a side reference And counterpoint to Yelawolf's Verse.

You guys seem to be new to the phenomenon that is Eminem. Eminem isn't some kind of sub-genre. He had to shock people at the outset of his career to climb past the racism he still has to deal with. It is the shock that got people over his race long enough to appreciate his talent. He's as real as it gets in Hip-Hop. Do yourself and your channel a favor and take a look at Eminem's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Dr. Dre as a shortcut to his 27 year history and current relevance in Hip-Hop.
His audience is world-wide; he gives homage to OGs in nearly every song; speaks out on issues that affect the black community and injustice (Zeus, White America, MOSH, Untouchable); has released anthems and inspirational music that has helped people get through tough times for generations.
You're about to go on quite a journey.

In that line where Em goes,
"In to a mind of a thick skin, but a short temper"
I believe what he's saying is that in his mind, he believes he ha e a thick skin that can take everything that comes his way, but in reality whenever someone says something about him, he snaps so fast that he recognizes that he have a very short temper.
That's how I took it and if that's how you laid it out, that would make more sense.
