Great content as always. On extra what I always add to these for my students is "Don´t squeeze the bar." I try to teach them to hold it firmly with fingertips bent over the bar (preferably the thumb also) so they can feel the backlines better (the tension and the slack). When they learn this they immediately gain better control of the kite. Also when squeezing the bar you make it harder to steer the kite as your wrists are not "loose" anymore. Never thought of the triangle, you mentioned, in that way.
Great tips! When starting out (or even as an early intermediate rider) being conscientious like this about how you’re holding the bar can make a big difference in how the kite handles.
Brilliant as always. Never seen this explained properly and yet we position our hands 100% of the time we’re out riding! Just recalling launching in breaking waves this weekend and my kite hand was too far out and it nearly crashed back on the beach behind me.. saved in time! Getting hands right for the current activity is one of the most important areas to master. Being aware we can adjust to suit is a fantastic reminder, too; nice clear blue skies & sunshine so I’m heading out right now! :)
Awesome KTS thanks for the comment. Yeah, as you say that's a common issue actually is accidentally sending the kite back while dealing with a distraction. Hand in the centre really helps overcome that. Have fun out there there today!
