For anyone who does not have the money and or is not handy, simply perform the sunshade reset procedure. It will command the shade to shut, no need to break it down unless you plan to repair.

Won't work on a 150. The procedure does both at once and if the track is broken and the glass won't move, the procedure won't start.
The first thing that happens in the initialization is the glass goes to vent and then the shade comes forward. If the glass won't vent the shade will never come forward

Any advice on how to fix a sun shade on a 2020 ford explorer where the shade moves just fine but only half rolls up and then droops down? Wife head a snap when extending it back out and has done it sense.

My shade is currently sick open after I installed the new guides and alignedlike you suggest in another video. I have tried the initialization process, but pushing the close button only makes the sunroof click loud like plastic gears grinding. No other functions work. You think this will help? I'm at a loss.

You installed just the upper arms, or the lower cables guides, too?

@@SealofPerfection just the upper arms that are prone to fail. I got it to cycle once, then it started doing what I mentioned above. I have it manually closed with the motor installed now, but I want the shade closed until I have time to actually make it all right.

@@MikeFreeze-tg3mn Okay, well then this method will do it. You get the sunroof motor to "think" it's closed, and the shade will fully shut.
And you likely have the lower cable guides broken as well.

I lowered the motor this evening and tried this method, still nothing. I ended up lowering the shade motor and manually closing the shade then tightening the shade motor up and the moon roof motor. It doesn't leak, so I'll mess with it when I have more time.
