Thats awesome to hear guys, thank you for checking us out! We had a blast in San Pedro and its amazing to relive the experiences through making fun videos like this. Are you guys thinking of heading down there?
@@oftbtravel oh I'm jealous. I spent a month there in April/May filming for my channel but was too nervous to bring my drone in; I read that it could be confiscated. Glad it all worked out for you!
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL ya I didn't hear about that until after we already got in to the country. I guess we got lucky. I have heard that if you are working with tourism companies and helping to promote Belize then you can apply for a permit though. We'll definitely try that next time and see how it goes
@@oftbtravel ooo nice, I hadn't heard that. The owner of Drift Inn Hotel in San Pedro told me she would have given me the paperwork had I asked in advance also... similar concept. Good to know!
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL ya we always reach out to the hotels we travel to and work out deals to help market their brands in return for free stays and stuff. It seems to work out really well for both parties
great video!!! A few ??? when did you travel to belize?? and what were the mask mandates/ requirements like??? Also how were the mosquitos??? Looking to plan a trip there this summer-- but masks and mosquitos are both high on my radar! Thanks so much for your input!!
Hey there! We were in Belize in January for 35 days and had an incredible time. Not too many mosquitos on the island, mainly we found them in the mountains. The beach areas do have sand flies that seemed to love us in some areas. San Pedro and Caye Caulker were pretty good though we found. Mask protocols are strict, everyone wears them all the time, unless at a restaurant or swimming/hanging out near water. It's tough sometimes in the heat, but we mostly just hang out by the water all the time anyways haha. Hope this helps and good luck on your adventures, Belize is incredible!
Legally you have to apply for a permit before you go. Its relatively cheap, but you would likely have to tell them that you are promoting Belize with your content or a tourism company if possible
@@oftbtravel man I’m so upset that I bought the new Mavic Air 2S and left it home after being told I had to jump through all kind of hoops to use it here. We are here now regretting not bringing it!
@@garys4688 aw man, that sucks. I'm not going to lie, we didn't know about the restrictions so we just brought ours and got lucky. I was told that its a simple permit application, but it could be more than that, I'm not certain.
@@oftbtravel definitely a few weeks are needed now to get the proper permits. Yes, permit(s). Belize film association, faa, and also must show proof of work for hire. No flying for fun authorized.
I don't believe so, everyone wears masks pretty much everywhere else except the beach I noticed. I'm not sure exactly what the laws are, but we were told in or near water or at a restaurant, you are fine to breathe free
@@anna_m59 that would be pretty strange I feel. I didn't see anyone following that and we went all over the country. It could be the law though, they were pretty strict with masks there
What an excellent video my friend.
Thank you very much, we'll be back soon for more adventures for sure!
