- Installing the Exocet frame on the Miata donor. I used a harbor freight shop crane and ratchet straps to install the frame onto the subframes. Then I bolt down the frame to the factory Miata bolting locations using the supplied bolts from Exomotive.

Excuse me sir you are illegally parked... thats Corvette parking only!
@3:43 is that the welds from the mfg or did you reweld some stuff ?
I wish I could say they were mine, but unfortunately that's how it comes from exomotive.
Hey. Looking to build an exocet, why are you putting on spacers? Lifted off road Miata?
Nope it just adjusts the frame position to the stock pickup points for the shocks

It’s also be raised by an inch or so correct?
This appeared in my inbox randomly. In the first 5 seconds i see a chopped up miata body. Why didnt you keep it in one piece???
So it was easier it pick up. The person who came and got it. Put it in their pickup bed
what shocks did you you use?

This one is Part 27, took me a long time to find
I edited the title accordingly.
Those straps freak me out. Something to remember about straps (or chains) is that the tension load in the strap is dependent on the angle. If your strap is 30° from horizontal, the straps are holding twice the load as the weight of what you're carrying. Smaller angle means even more load. It looks like 4 were enough here, but it could have been disastrous if they stayed as horizontal as they were before you lifted the car.
exninja I can lift the frame up by myself. They aren't handling the weight you think they are. 225 lbs at most. Each strap is rated at 500 lbs
I know what the frame weighs. Like I said, it appears 4 was enough. It's not good practice to have near-horizontal straps lifting a vertical load. Your straps start at horizontal. The tension load in the strap approaches infinity(!) as the angle approaches 0° when you lift. I don't know the exact angle your straps end up at, but there could easily be 200lb in each strap in your video. Add bumps and jostling, and it goes up. I just want to make sure someone watching doesn't repeat with something even more sketchy and ends up with a bent/broken tube or fallen load. Bad strap practice has even brought down airplanes, it's no joke. It's something that is easily not accounted for but can have tragic consequences.
the adjustable wrench is making me sick
😢😢😢AAA
waaaiit! Exocet is FWD?!
No
It’s rwd. It’s a Miata based kit car.
Hey. I’m looking into building an exocet too. But why you need spacers?
