Foster Cats: Feral Trio (Slideshow)

We experienced one of our biggest fostering challenges in the fall of 2020, when we fostered three orphan eight-week-old feral kittens. When the shelter asked us to foster them, it was unknown whether the three kittens would ever be adoptable. Being inexperienced with feral kittens, we made many mistakes along the way. Our first mistake was releasing them into a room rather than putting them in a more confined space. It was a challenge to find them on the second day, and it would have been extremely difficult to try to soclialize them if they were able to run away from us and hide again. So we purchased pet playpen, found the kittens, and managed to catch them and get them into the playpen. Then began the long process of gaining their trust through food and play.
