Good Video...I live in a village on the outskirts. Darlington is a decent town, and like all places there are good and bad areas, it’s much preferable to nearby Stockton or Middlesbrough where I was born. The picture showing ‘Darlington Railway Station’ is actually the back entrance, the front entrance is accessible from Yarm Road.
Darlington was the big city to us as kids from Shildon! I left age 19 in 1977 to live in the south, I now live in Florida, and moving back in a couple of months to Shildon! I used to go to the music shop regularly, think it was Williamsons?
Darlington is a lovely town but the new town hall is an eyesore. So many beautiful old historic buildings there and it's unfortunate the new buildings are not up to the same aesthetic standards.
Its so weird seeing places you see every day on camera also what time was it filmed because it looks so empty just adding i moved here 7-8 years ago from Staffordshire

I have no idea why people hate Darlington so much. I live here and we have a lot of history. It may be boring or have not much to do but you people seriously unappreciative. We have barely any crime or disaster like other places do which makes us very lucky. We aren’t half as polluted as many other places in darlo which is good
Im planing on moving there in May or June with my girls. Get away from Belfast. It looks great. I've even been chatting to a lady in Hurworth house school. So I think I have school sorted for them too.

A nice look at the cntre of Darlington, but a lot more could have been covered instead of endless views of trains coming and going. What about Cockerton, Haughton, the old A1 leading to Harrogate Hill. Albert Hill, Rise Carr and Whessoe Road. The old Grammar School and the South Park. Maybe next time?

I moved here near on 10 years ago from the south coast tho wasn't my first port of call in the North East, I don't mind Darlington. As for the upload you should of added more to the upload like North Road Train Station area as of course that area is stonked in history.
@@stuartmoss I never knew about the history till I moved to this part of town, I live on High Northgate. There is a print/painting of the opening of the skerne bridge (oldest working bridge in the world apparently) where I live is more or less the location where that print/painting was done from.
And just down the road from North Road Station is the Stooperdale railway offices on Brinkburn Road - often called "The Buckingham Palace of the North"
Lol went to darlo today and there was some have the religious dude shouting about Jesus and he then saw my Indian friend I was with and tried to convert his religion lol
It's amazing how much a camera can hide . The area outside the railway station is a complete shit hole the first pub you saw is full of drug dealers and most of the houses around there are brothels. The streets are usually full of dog shit and the alleyways have homeless people sleeping in them.

A 'market square' in a 'market town'--which is totally fenced off with chain links so no one can use it for the purpose it was designed for! Progress!

Stockton station is bland, but I like Darlington station, there are a number of historic exhibits there too.
