Why did the car enter from the right lane when intending to take the 3rd exit at the sõpruse roundabout 13:42? Is this due to no sign upon entering the roundabout? From what was mentioned previously in this video, I thought generally speaking the left lane should be used when entering the roundabout with the intention of taking the third or fourth exit?
It is correct, usually you should enter with the left lane for the third or fourth exit. But on the sõpruse roundabout we can make it from the right lane as well. If we know in advance, that the sign after the first exit allows us to continue moving on the roundabout due the right lane, then we can use this possibility. If we don't know it in advance, then of course it's better to use left lane by default.
The example at 16:47 is a bit confusing. If we took the left lane for a third exit according to the rule we would be stuck because we are in the lane that is only continuing through the roundabout according to the sign. Would it be correct then to continue through the roundabout, pass the 4th exit and then switch to the right lane before the second exit so that we are in the correct (in this case right lane) to make the third exit?
Yes, it will be correct. Usually we enter the roundabout with the left lane for the third exit and then we change the lane on the second exit as you mentioned. Because signs are not allowing us to maintain on the roundabout using the right lane usually. This roundabout is an exception. If you enter from the Sõpruse street sight you can make all the exits from the right lane.
This is most important lesson learn point for roundabout.
if no regulatory sign then move to the relatable lane to make the exit. 8:35
