Damn i love that decklist nice cards 3 of and important stuff at 4 ofs and even 3 basics. Unsure about the tabernacle but list is just a great watch alone
Hi Phil, These videos with Lumra have been my favorite videos on your channel in the past month. They're really interesting. I do have a question about cracking the Soul-guide Lantern at 1:01:48 in response to the casting of the animate dead. Couldn't you let the animate dead resolve, and in response to the etb trigger that would move the creature from the graveyard to the battlefield, crack the lantern, and that would send the animate dead to their graveyard, putting a +1/+1 counter on Sarulf? I might be mistaken on the exact wording on animate dead, tho so that could be why you didn't do it.
"Sarulf Nukes the World" seems like a good name for a Saga. Chapters 1-2: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control with the highest power among creatures you control Chapter 3: Destroy each nonland permanent with CMC = 10, destroy all lands as well.
Have you considered running pithing needle for the saga sideboard plan? I’m not super familiar with the format but I have seen it elsewhere so was curious about the reasoning
the trigger that gives you the chance to boardwipe is worded so that it only goes on the stack if Sarulf already has at least one +1/+1 counter on it. Even if you get priority during your upkeep thanks to some other trigger creating a stack and then put counters on Sarulf at instant speed, you won't get the opportunity to boardwipe until your next turn.
The only version of this that does work is using instant speed effects to change how big the Sarulf boardwipe is going to be, since that is only determined at the time the effect resolves.
Admit it Phil, you're just in love with that bear.
The Baldur's Gate 3 people have told me that it's fine to love a bear.
@@ThrabenUniversityAs long as the bear is also a himbo humanoid, bear love is approved lol 😅
@@ThrabenUniversity The Baldur's Gate 3 people should not be consulted for anything. Their levels of degeneracy rivals Star Trek Voyager fans.
Watching the frog attack into the bear from hell is easily the most satisfying thing i've seen since frog dropped.
*queue music* Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no...
Arena players get fancy flashing lights that say ALERT ALERT when their opponent has a reach creature
@@Kryptnyt And it still doesn't stop them.
@@AaronRotenberg I'm sure it stops a really big percentage of players from attacking into sneaky reach. Which is honestly a shame
My brain played the Jim “JR” Ross “oh no, don’t do this, don’t do it, think of your friends think of your family think of everybody!!!!” Soundboard
Phil: “Yavimaya, that’s whatever.”
Also Phil: *Yavimaya wins him the game in the most epic fashion ever*
LOLOLOLOL
Hi Phil Fromthefuture. I love intros where you joke, but even cooler is seeing you so excited for the games you just played. Now I'm hyped!
@r4g1
Phil: yavimaya is whatever
yavimaya: just you wait
LOLOLOLOL
Sarulf Lands was (and still is) my first commander deck, will always love him. So great to see another decks using it effectively
Hello Wolf Brother! I built It as It was spoilered
I play this as a commander and it's so much fun, as close as you can get to pox in that format
What an entertaining sequence of events in that round four 🤣
nice, sarulf is one of my favorite cards from the last few years
A legacy mastermind discovers joy of commander level shenaningans. Fun indeed!
Ive wanted to see someone pjt Sarulf in a Legacy deck since it originally came out. God bless you.
My children were still looking and are now scared for life.
This deck is hilariously fun to watch.
Lumra is kinda the cocaine version of primeval titan
cocaine bear
0:20 I can already tell this is one of those leagues I’m going to watch multiple times
R4G1 stop it stop it they're already dead
Love seeing these decks, awesome to see Sarulf have a big impact
What a satisfying sequence of events. Love it.
Loving Phil's lands era.
Wow that 4th match was something. You opponent managed to make every single mistake they could to lose that game.
Damn i love that decklist nice cards 3 of and important stuff at 4 ofs and even 3 basics. Unsure about the tabernacle but list is just a great watch alone
What a punt on round 4!! Time to go buy some lotto tickets, Phil!
That bear trigger hooooly shit
Phil from the Future was not kidding
Ms. Big Bad Wolf, Sarulf is great! I have her as one of my commanders.
I am pretty sure I just saw a warcrime around the 45 minute mark. I love it.
Wow expectations set.
Round 4 was a I f’ed up good concede
god DAYUM this was sick

What the dawg doin'?
Winning leagues.
_I was not done with you!_
54:14 Manabond would be absolutely disgusting here.
Pernicious Dog hype
Maybe you have addressed this already but do you think valgavoth has the potential to be a legacy staple ? Seems like an insane reanimator target.
Obligatory algorithmic contribution

Would plague engineer and forbidden orchard to cute for this deck? Would want to see it thou :D
Sarulf is one of my Commanders! (Yes, I run Loam too there XD)
0:34 split up? Ha. No. Im exercising till this thing is done.
Leg day has never felt so good!
Great deck.
Maybe have at least one or two Snuff outs as a zero-mana way to put counters on the wolf? If the mana base supports it.
Snuff Out seems perfectly reasonable.

Found the solution vs the Frog
Round 4 must've been unbearable for your opponent. Pure pandamonium. A grizzly way to die. Poler opposite of what they wanted. Ursa winner.
this deck is sick as hell
but like... where's small pox? :(
25:55
I'm pretty sure you just dredge Loam here. Three shots at Boseiju is better than two shots at Trophy.
Nice
Psychic Frog is Public Enemy Number 1 is fine but for the love of god if we ever get to Public Enemy Number 15 do not acronym it
Why only 3 explorations? Virtually every single game you would be in a much better position if you had 4.
Another "best league?" Cmon, it's only... september? Oh god. Nevermind
44:51 ay your phones going off lol
Round 1 game 3 you could've wastelanded during your untap step to get a counter on Sarulf and boardwiped.
Nope, nobody gets priority during the untap step.
the trigger that gives you the chance to boardwipe is worded so that it only goes on the stack if Sarulf already has at least one +1/+1 counter on it. 36:20 Opponent couldn't defend if they wanted to - you have Vexing Bauble. 🙂
