Ambassadeur 2500C (BFS Tuned) & Glass Rod: First Fish Caught after Reel Restoration

After spending a fair amount of time (and I don't want to think about how much money) - I finally stripped, cleaned and Bait Finesse System Super-Tuned my 1977 Abu Ambassadeur 2500C reel.
I was already smitten by the looks and pedigree of this reel - so all it had to do was be even somewhat capable of catching a fish. Little did I know that tying on a 1.7g (1/16th oz), 50mm (2") suspension jerk bait would let me fire effortless casts all around the stream.
I couldn't believe how effective the simple, elegant centrifugal brake system was when applied to the ultra, ultralight honeycomb spool by AMO.
The casts in this video are short-range and accurate - but this reel would throw that same 1/16th oz easily twice as far with a sideways flip-casting style just as easily. Coupled with the custom s-glass rod by Resilure, this makes an incredible headwaters BFS rig.
I look forward to targeting perch as well as wild trout and maybe even bass with this setup when the opportunities come around.
