CalMac and Waverley Enthusiast I found ALL the CalMac shore staff and ship crews to be friendly and efficient! On this trip I did the Hallaig, Caly Isles, Loch Invar, Isle of Lewis, and Hebrides. Missed the Loch Seaforth due to the Ullapool kaffuffle.
Owing to the reduced A-B service with I o Arran being out of service, the Loch Invar was put on L-C to increase capacity on this route to use as an alternative.
Thank you! I have just uploaded a trip on the hybrid ferry 'Hallaig' running on battery, and a film of a trip on the Hebrides will be uploaded by the end of this week. Cheers.
Where was the 'wind muffler'? Super video with a different perspective. It's even cheaper now to cross with Calmac's RET Policy. (Road Equivilant Tariff)
Ha ha! This series was mostly done 'quick n dirty' on the iPhone, so no muffler. Looking forward to RET too! Now Leverburgh-Berneray won't be more expensive than Uig triangle sailings :)
Just reiterating the last comment, great videos, keep up the good work.! Really good videos and moreover, interesting. What camera are you using, it produces some first class imagery. Thanks Andrew
Richard Allen Thanks Richard! I may continue the series yet ;) All the 'tracking' is done by a GoPro Camera inside the car, and the other stuff in this video was done on an iPhone 6. I have better equipment, but these wee things are far more portable and easy to handle.
Andrew Ditton Hi Andrew, yes you must continue the series, seriously good videos..! I am due to make my annual visit to the Cairngorms in November with my two dogs, Edwin and April so was thinking of making a video diary myself - watch this space.! Thanks again Andrew.
Dear Andrea imagine me sitting with Philipps road maps from Scotland over your videos. Me: He went were? After looking at the road maps of Scotland: Oh he was there! I know that place!
Thank you so much for this! En route now, and feel better I know exactly what it all looks like!
Glad it was helpful. The video is a few years old but little has changed. Have a great trip! Arran is beautiful.
Keep up the good work Andrew , love these videos
hilux58 Thanks! A gratefully-received and well-timed comment having been up till 1am editing and uploading :-/
I've been on the ferry hope you enjoyed ur time in Lochranza
Glad the Ardrossan staff were helpful, and I hope the trip on Caly Isles was enjoyable too.

I have yet to travel on either of the D.E.H.V. vessels so that was a good trip to make.
I was lucky to get the Loch Invar, she was moved to Arran as the Isle of Arran was having trouble and was in Troon for a few days being tinkered with.
Not sure I follow. The Isle of Arran is an Ardrossan Brodick ferry not a Ranza one.

Very good vids ! Thanks from France (from a ship lover). ;)

No I’ve not seen it! Overdue a visit by the sound of it.

The arran ferry is always busy
+Richard Irvine They will all be now with the rolling out of RET over the network!
I know its gonna be epic
I 'ate po'oles! Dagnabbedit things mess up ye wheels.
Scotland is the worst for potholes. They are everywhere unless you're in Edinburgh
Oddly enough Dylan, I found Edinburgh quite bad between Leith and the bridges... :-/
@@andrewjditton that might be because it's not in the touristy part of the city. I think the city centre and the old town tend to be quite good.
