fr
Seriously
WOrd UuuUUp
Right? My boyfriend and I sing this all the time. I want to name my future son ricky baler just so i can sing this to him
I sing this song at least 5x a day with my boyfriend. Its so enduring, i love it
Bella: Once rejected,
Ricky: :(
Bella: Now accepted,
Ricky: :)
XD
LMAO YES
"Once rejected, now accepted" 😂
By meee
And Hector.
We're a trifecta
Ricky baker aaahhh
AAAAAAAAAAA so feel good man
I love how he sang about him self at the end
haha he jumps in like it's a well-known song
I mean Sam Neill's expressions in this film are off the charts.
YES! Thank you! He does an amazing job in this film
Joel from _The Last of Us._
He sound like a pure nz
THAT'S who it is, thank you lol. I knew I recognized him - 4 years late
Hard home life after returning from an island of dinosaurs
I barely survived watching this, I laughed that much... the mom's commitment to getting the song out, the excruciation on Sam Neil's face and the kid singing along in a song about himself... it's just gold.
I have to admit I thought it was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I have showed others and they can’t seem to find what’s so funny. I guess horses for courses.
@@AustralianNews I guess so but it's impossible for me to imagine not finding it hilarious! It just never gets old
@@charlotteharris4825 it’s like when your on a plane and the person next to you is watching the same movie and your crying with laughter and they aren’t even smiling. Some people 🤷♂️
@@AustralianNews it really is!!!
We absolutely love this movie and song! It’s hard to get it out of your mind once you start singing it.😂
I didn't choose the skux life, the skux life chose me.
Favorite quote
Fact: They were originally going to use the actual happy birthday song but found out it was copyrighted so she just sang that song on set
this is an improvement
@@kingofthebarstool1 it actually is technically a stated fact under the 'Trivia' section of IMDb page for this movie which I'm guessing is where the op got it from. But I agree...don't see how you wouldn't realize sooner that it was copyrighted (or anybody on set didn't see it for that matter)
James A that’s bold of you to make the assumption that everybody knows. Nobody knows everything and they just didn’t know it.
Yeah Taika confirmed this in the Soundtracking podcast
They should have used the Regular Show version
I keep coming back to this video every day, I don't know why.
Our family's FAVORITE MOVIE EVER!
I guess because I thought this is such a silly song, but it has some weird charm.
Christian Nugraha why wouldn't anyone
Christian Nugraha rf
me too.
I could listen to this for the rest of my life
Same
Who dislikes something so majestical as this?
Child Services
From Child walfare
Its majestic ahha
That's not even a word 😜
@@cbisme6414 it’s from the movie
"You are a teenager and you're as good as Gold" .....
+Николай Кузнецов omg spell it right
What a great movie, just perfect. This is what film should be.
It truly is!!! It mixes some of the most clever humor I've ever seen before, but at the same time the movie keeps things real, and also provides several moments that really invokes emotion. I mean I have never laughed my ass of in a movie as much as this one, and at the same time before this, the last movie I ever cried at was Les Miserables. So I 100% agree, this is how films should be
It reminded me of the tone of Napoleon Dynamite. Very endearing and quirky.
Hell nah. It’s average at best.
Rima's character in this is lovely. The slightly awkward and embarrassing, but totally loving and accepting foster mum. I know people like that! a great tribute to the many awesome foster parents out there.
Oh she's just wonderful. It's a gem of a film. I love the little nervous hesitation and quaver of her voice, and the determination of how she says "Now accepted - by me!" Poor long-suffering Hector (but he loves her dearly), and of course Ricky is adorable. Great actors.
It’s a gem of a film and a gem of a performance. I am not a religious person, but Rima’s character is shot through with grace.
Late to the party... this movie has soooo much heart. Being adopted myself, it’s nice to have a movie with representation for the rest of us.
Ricky Baker ah ah!
I just saw it last weekend, you're early...lol
I watch about 300 movies per year but this one really stuck with me. Genius!
300 a year??!! could you suggest something like this one?? I've been trying for days but couldn't find anything as fun
Hi Aju, unfortunately I don't know any movie similar to this one :(
Hey, thanks anyway :) :)
Donna Inessa haha same! And it was way funnier than i expected it to be. I thought it'd be more of a "two opposites trying to understand eachother" type of thing. Loved it!
Now that I think about it, 'UP' has a similar plot. Bereaved Old man and young boy get lost and ultimately find themselves.
his face when they sang "riiiiiickyyyy baaaaaaakkeerr"
that is my favorite thing ever
This Lady what a performance , such small part of the move!! Biggest impact 🎶💟
Rima Te Wiata . .. she is great. One of NZ's finest. I wished she had been in longer too. Wonderful movie. Here I go singing Ricky Baker again. LOL
She was in the movie all the way through.... In her box☺️. I just loved the bit when Uncle realised she'd been with them all along. Magic movie, I saw it last night at the theatre and am still Thinking about it. ♥️🇦🇺
@@cbisme6414 So right there!! Enchanting 🙌
Huge part just small screen time
Now accepted by Me.....And Hector a trifecta! 😂😂😂
I absolutely loved this film!!! i hope more Americans will get the opportunity to watch this
We're from California and saw it in an independent movie theater! It was seriously the BEST movie! We love Taika Waititi and BOY too!
CuriousCalifornians awesome!!! There was only like one theater around us that was playing this movie
+AJ Tomecek I saw this as well, I really loved it, a good movie indeed, from Oregon btw
+Luis Tzu right above California if you're wondering, Oregon is easily forgotten
I think as soon as it goes to Red Box and netflix a lot of people will see it.
His face suddenly dropped when she said "Once rejected" :(
90% of this movie is Sam Neil giving people the bewildered side eye and it's always hilarious.
my whole house walks around singing this hahaha too addictive
tom tairua haha same
tom tairua same
Lol same
Don't help when you have step brothers last name Baker. This is there ain't every year now since 😂just change the 1st name and we're away 🤣
Song
This kid is gonna be the next comedic star and I really hope he is, he is so fucking funny!
0:37 LOL! Uncle Hector's facial expressions were the funniest part of this film.
Wife and I absolutely loved this film. One of the years best tbh. So glad we came across this movie . From the beginning it pulls you in , we were smiling the entire film. " No child left behind " lol
Julio Valdez It reminded me of the tone of Napoleon Dynamite. Very endearing and quirky.
Anyone else randomly remember this song from time to time? I could be sitting on transit and all of a sudden out of left field "Aha Ricky Baker, Aha Ricky Baker"
The movie could be just this scene and it would still be one of the bests ever :)
My face hurts from smiling.
Every time she says "by me" I just lose it 😂
This song is PERFECT 😬
I wish I was adopted by aunty! Best song ever ill sing this to my foster kids one day!
I CAN'T STOP WATCHING THIS
Every so often I return here for a dose of smiles
haven’t even seen this movie, but this scene is the little bit they play on the Netflix home screen for this film. I saw it for the last time last night and watched it like 4 times in a row. As a musician, let me just say: genuinely brilliant chord word here.
Sam Neill's coughing when Ricky blows the candles is just priceless :D
The chorus on this SLAPS
"There are two doors , one door, the east door, has all the nummies , Fanta , burger rings , Coke Zero " 😂😂😂😂
NOT THE FANTA DOOR NOT THE DORITO DOOR NO THERES A NOTHER DOOR
Vegetabless????
... "Jesus"
@@gavinisdope he"s tricky like that jezus
And jeee sus
The kids face just dropping slightly at the once rejected line makes me laugh every time. Good actor! haha
iconic scene. the best by far in the movie
When my college english teacher said we were going to be watching and analysing this movie i was hyped! haha
No child left behind...laughing and crying at the same time...remarkable
you're old shut up
Hunt for the wilderpeople is my favourite film ever!!
Millie PUG!!!!!!! I can watch this movie on loop for the rest of my life
Adam Fernandes me too
Ah, the best birthday song EVER!
she has a bright soul
I absolutely love this movie, criminally underrated! No child left behind!
This is one of the best movies I've seen to date, soooo underrated
Such an underrated movie.
I had tears watching this... I don't even know the movie but that is seriously comedy gold, right there... fantastic
Hector look so done, i love it 😂
ikr
Just watched it on Netflix. What a masterpiece 👏
The gift that keeps on giving! 4 years later this song still cracks me up - easily one of my all time fave movies
Watched this movie in English class🙌🏽 Best movie ever!!👏🏽⭐️
Some girl at the gym gave me her name today. Her last name was Baker. I immediately got this song stuck in my head for the whole drive home, and by the time I arrived I had completely forgotten her name.
Lol
This movie is a hidden gem!
One of the best films I've seen in a long time. Shared it with our nine year-old son, who now goes around the house, singing this song, and we LOVE it!
Hoping for a sequel as Ricky and Uncle Heck refind the Huia, then leave it right there. :)
My favourite part of this song is her singing once rejected and Ricky frowning but then instantly smiling after she sings once accepted, something so wholesome in that
This song is just magical for some reason.
I am so proud to be from New Zealand and Hunt for the wilder people really showed that
We watched this in class today for our film studies and everyone after the movie was just singing the “Ricky Baker” part lmao 😂
This is the cure for depression
I am a New zealander (Kiwi) and this is the best movie ever made.
Australia and New Zealand are famous for quirky/basic movies..this is a great film..
nice to take a step down from the popular hollywood blockbusters.
if only more of the world could experience these kind of movies.
Aninal kingdom was a classic gritty film with amazing acting .
Romper Stomper..Bad boy bubby..
great Aussie flicks among others
Hollywood blockbusters are actually a step down from these types of films.
id choose that bday song over the usual. so cute and original
This song is so wholesome, you can't help but smile when you're listening to it 😂
I feel so sorry for the 5 people who missed the like button!
I wish Bella was in more of the scenes that would of been awesome
I listen to this like every day.
OMG 2021 here. How did I miss this??? Love it. The expressions are perfect.
Hunt for the Wilderpeople, in my opinion does better than a lot of other comedies. Especially for the "pg" rating it has.
I absolutely love this song 😂😂 and how he sings to himself at the end 😂 I play it over and over again 😂
This song is addictive once I start singing I can’t stop ! And the old mans faces are killing me😂😂
Love the Ricky Baker birthday song. Everyone should have a original birthday song.
I'm an American, but my Aussie friends showed me this movie. This movie made me laugh so much! I hope more Americans will watch it!
Best film of 2016!
I blast this song on the way to work in the morning at 6:00 a.m. singing to the top of my lungs I just love the looks I get 😂
I watched this for the first time today. I'm recovering from surgery and have an incision on my stomach that's healing up. This scene took me so off-guard and I started laughing but it was making my stomach hurt so bad. I tried to stop, but I couldn't help it 🤣😖🤣😖🤣😖🤣😖🤣😖
Just saw this on Friday and I laughed and cried my eyes out! So good!!
if they filmed a little later we would not have the Ricky Baker birthday song since the happy birthday song they were going to use but didn't want to pay for it lost it's copyright in september of 2015. Ricky Backer song much better.
This was such an amazing film!
This movie needs an oscar
This song makes me smile every time I hear it. I think it’s going to be our new birthday song. 😂♥️
My mom really loves this song...
Everytime she's sad ill play this for her, it always makes her happy :D
I literally can't stop listening to and singing this song!
just so heartwarming
I just saw this for the first time yesterday. I loved this movie! And this is the greatest song ever. 😁
I love this movie! And that song gets stuck in my head.
This reminds of the songs my mom would make up for us as kids. Amazing movie.
Best movie of 2016 hands down, I wish it would win best foreign film in the oscars!!
Short but really good and only 30 VIEWS IT SHOULD GAVE 300,000. But really really good.
When did I start incorporating this into my every day life?
I really enjoyed this movie, it’s a great story and fun to watch
OH RICKY BAKER~
My BFF is obsessed with. This we dont why 😂😂
This song is so catchy I can’t stop listening to it
i literally sing along with this every time it comes up on netflix for me
You mean you don't figuratively sing it?
BEST movie of all TIME

LOVED this part of the film thee most! Laughed n laughed and had to rewind several times! 👏👏👏
I love this film! It's heart-warming, it's sad, it's ridiculous, and it's all-round good fun.
