26:35 light cells should be directional like spikes. a light cell with only one free side should be like a high power flashlight beam in a very narrow cone. and a light cell with a lot of sides free should provide more of a radial glow. and maybe if it has no sides free it should just be like bio-luminescence where you can see it in the dark but it doesn't really cast light around itself
on my first day messing around i perfectly phased into one of the target dummy enemies with spikes all around my build. and the best part is it wasn't enough dps to actually kill it so it was just infinite damage until i chose to phase back out
I think it would be cool if you gave enough biomass to an enemy they would recognize you as an "ally" and stop trying to hurt you and starts following and killing the other cells, would still be able to damage you but only if you got too close
I made a phasing build where the tail was an inward facing mouth that didnt phase and it killed everything that fit so so well. Poison on the inside too
@AliasGaming0 yeah turning around was a huge life saver at times. Can't say I'm making it past level 2 yet tho, I think I try to get a bit too creative hahah
I watched this yesterday, got the demo on Steam, and got the phasing cell in my first batch of cells in my first run. Still managed to lose anyways because roguelikes :)
The only reall nerf it needs would be to stop it from transforming heart cells. And maybe offensive cells too. Cause otherwise it instakills regardless of what type of cell you choose when heart cells get transformed
I mean, yes, phasing is absolutely broken, but it definitely isn't a bad thing, especially due to its rarity, just like you were saying. A good example is some of the items you can get in binding of issac, some are trash, and some are godly. And theres also the fact that more and more cell types will probably be added over time, making its high rarity even more difficult to obtain. Who needs balance when can have fun. Balance in single player games only needs to exist to prevent one style of play from completely invalidating all of the other ones, or to elevate a playstyle to the level of the others. Its a different story if it gets a versus multiplayer though, but im not sure if this game is right for that
tbh I think phasing is only as strong as it is because there just aren't that many types of builds you can do right now that are as strong as phasing. As more content gets added and existing stuff gets changed, I imagine we'll get some cell types that are equally strong but aren't easily compatible with phasing builds, and once that happens it'll probably fall into line with the other build types. Another option would be to make phasing unobtainable by normal means and instead make it a special item that requires taking some extra risks to get, like devil deals in Isaac or some of the unique wands in Noita (which would just be a fun feature to have in general imo).
Sadly with the recent nerf to mutagenic poison that will no longer work as a defence unless I can find some way to touch the explosive for a long enough time without it actually exploding.
@@AliasGaming0 Venom tentacles should be soft enough for the explosive not to go off, right? Maybe try to "gently catch" things and poison them? I suppose it wouldn't work for feeler explosives tho? Eh, you can always make a hard shell butt to approach and soak the explosions, I suppose.
It's best in parasite builds where you take over an enemy design and use that but it can also be effective for creating little healers. You could do a couple neat things with it but it's definitely niche.
This game seems sick but the screen always freezes for me after playing for only a little while. I have to restart the whole game whenever that happens and it’s pretty annoying
The dev is working hard to optimize things like that currently, I imagine if you reported your issues and system specs Kaliuresis would be able to improve the game for you faster.
Its sad when really fun OP builds you can manage to get once in a blue moon in a single player run have to be nerfed or ruined for the sake of multiplayer balance.

i immediately went to comments to see if anyone caught the (outskirts?) danger music
three "every thing is simulated" games, all of them absolute masterpieces
exactly what I thought. The threat music still raises my bpm

It's always been possible as far as I can tell haha.

I did something similar just the other day! It's quite an effective build, I had to pivot for the final area so I didn't get totally exploded though.

I love rainworld
@Mememan12113 ditto
I love that you are playing the album Ballad of the Space Babies by Jim Guthrie at the end. He's a legend. Great video!

Its simple to nerf mutagenic poison, give it a chance of doing what it does now all the time. Set it to 5% It will still be very powerful

I just realized his creature kinda does what mahito does.

What is the point of being able to give biomass to other cells? How can that help you?
Ride boss around without killing it. Also useful if you create little drones.
