Got a 1 bedroom apartment. My room was freezing last night. I put plastic on the windows (all 3) and only one inflates, so that’s the one that lets air in. But the real chill comes from under the floor. Must be horrible insulation. Baseboard heating sucks. So I use a heater. Damn near had the heater under the covers with me last night. As soon as this lease is up I’m ghost.
The coldest room in my house is the back room were we eat dinner my hands freeze and my pc is never hot and I wearing like 6 jumpers and my granny is like wear more clothes and the heating is like 20
If I turn the ceiling fan on in the kitchen will it keep thr ac from running none stop the ac from running non stop the thermostat is on the wall in the kitchen and the furnace is directly behind the thermostat wall I came home at 7pm its still runing at 2:12 am if I turn the ceiling fan on in the kitchen will it make the thermostat
If you set the ceiling fan to run counter-clockwise it will push down cool air. Here are a few more tips to keep your home cool in the summer. www.retrofoamofmichigan.com/blog/keep-house-cool-summer
I just out a good quality space heater in that room. I live in a townhome & it would be hard to do this stuff. I put new good quality windowa in the whole housr.
Nice video! We're in a 100+ year old row house in the downtown. It's generally pretty comfortable, but it's rather cold under our stairs (has a small door that leads to storage and hot water tank), as well as in the adjacent washer/dryer area (also under stairs). The wall behind is not exterior, so wondering what might be going on there. Thanks again and stay warm!
Thank you! My best guess would be the bond/rim joist leading to that area is not insulated or air sealed. This would cause airflow and heat loss through the floor truss system.
I live in a house built around the time of the dinosaurs....heat pump seemed to be Damm near useless- till I opened up the drywall- no, NO insulation in the walls.🤬. So all this winter I've been adding sprayfoam insulation to outside walls along with caulking e v e r y t h I n g. This is helping alot but I still think I should have put in another type of Central heat, electric heat is safe, but I think gas is warmer. Looks like il be adding a woodstove to this pitiful old house, if we don't freeze to death first! Thanks for info!
Punched a hole in my wall by accident and realized there's no insulation in my bed room. Or at least in the wall that's on the other side of the bathroom. That is just on the other side of my bedroom. So annoying and dumb. Idk why they would build it like that. Uhg. My room is definitely always more hot in the summer or really cold in the winter.. when the house doesn't usually feel as bad. I do wonder if the rest of the house is like that though. Maybe they don't put insulation in houses that are in the south that often?? 🤔

@@zerohero5753 I found out because my room was built after the house and they didn’t use insulation so In the winter it’s gets so cold

Relatable. But is it dangerous?

Not going to lie, the first part of your comment made me chuckle. Glad the info helped, and hopefully you'll be able to get that space warmed up.

In the summer is still always the hottest but in the winter it’s always the coldest- I do not understanddd😩😩

It sounds like an insulation issue.

Yes, we do!

You said "there's no heat register in the room" but then showed a cold air return...I think.
Sorry for any confusion. According to Google it was a heat register.
