Can you introduce yourselves at the start of the video? I admittedly only watch about 60% of Out of Spec videos and no offense but I have no idea who either of you are but would love to learn, thanks!
I've noticed this channel quite bad with posting their videos on a certain timeline. Don't be surprised if they post a video a week or so from now that was filmed before this introducing themselves.
This channel is really good but the most confusing one ever
Same here! I'm a rather new subscriber, but this looked like a vlog to me. Who are they? How many makes videos on this channel?
Does this couple have their own channel? I hope so. I love them! Super fun.
That should be the standard delivery experience for every new car, let alone fancy new EVs. That salesman was definitely on point.
Despite me being a Tesla owner, I absolutely LOVE how other EV manufacturers are competing and offering great service to customers. I'm a little biased but, in general, I LOVE the EV push from Polestar and other manufacturers! This was a great review and offers selections to customers :)
@@phazondude117 my only problem with Polestar is they clearly didn't care about efficiency. I think the Lightning is as efficient as the Polestar 2
@@JuiceBoxScott they’re dealing with that issue with the 2023 model I believe
Great video! Thanks for taking us along. My friend is getting his Polestar next week but I am still waiting for my Ioniq 5 😭 May I make two suggestions?
1. Please introduce yourselves! Are you just filling in for Kyle and Alyssa temporarily? New regulars? Would love to know 🙂
2. For your trip to Seattle, I strongly, STRONGLY recommend taking the 101 up to at least as far as Lincoln City in northern Oregon, then switch over to the I5 for the rest of the way to Seattle. My family has taken the 101 down to California many times from Vancouver, Canada and it is my absolute favourite road trip. Maybe too slow and wind-y in Washington, and too slow and wind-y from San Francisco to LA, but from San Francisco to the Redwoods, and along the Oregon coast?? 😍😍😍 Lovely highway, magnificent scenery, and not just straight for hours on end like on the I5. (of course, maybe the charging isn't so great yet on the 101, I admittedly haven't checked yet)
Congrats on your gorgeous EVs, and I'm really looking forward to your west coast road trip!
.
Am dying to know who they are too. Some information is not a bad idea. Awesome content as usual. Just as an aside; I can't fathom the low subscription rate for both channels though
21:30 exactly why I am never buying a preowned EV that came off a lease lol. Owners who lease just abuse their vehicles since they know its not their issue in 3 years.
Polestar2 just puts a smile on your face every time you get in.
It’s a true drivers car.
CarPlay is nice, but redundant in case of this car.
They are nice cars, but at 2100kg (4630lb) and FWD "true driver's car" is a bit of a stretch.
@@ad_fletch ,if you owned one,you would understand. And it’s 408hp AWD are more than enough for 4k+ lbs.
@@ad_fletch ,if you owned one,you would understand. And it’s 408hp AWD are more than enough for 4k+ lbs.
@@dannyusanovic2937 Test drove one, but the gear selector binnacle pressed into my knee while driving so had to rule it out. It did feel heavy too. Liked the general vibe though.
@@ad_fletch I get the issue with center console, some people are not fan of it.
If you ever get another chance to drive one, select “one pedal driving “ to off,it transforms the car into a bullet.
What you felt as heavy is one pedal drive holding the car back.
Best way to feel the difference is by switching one pedal off mid drive,it literally feels like anchor being lifted off.
Drove one last April it's a really fun car. Rented it from ENTERPRISE in DC. I didn't have it long to explore all the bells and whistles so I appreciated the Salesman's walk through.
Guys, please, Polestar is a Swedish brand, not a Chinese brand. Geely basically gives them money and says if you can produce great cars and grow your company, we're hands off. Polestar is Volvo's former sports skunkworks. In fact, I think Polestar still is as you can get a Volvo XC60 or s60 Polestar with gold seatbelts, Ohlins dampers and such. If you look at Polestars and Volvos, so much is very similar and former Volvo designers run Polestar.
19 inch wheels have a better ride and have better range. My take on Polestar is it is extremely solid and well made, great seats. What I don't like is the center console eats up a lot of space and it has crappy back visibility.
Actually, as of June, Polestar is pulling away from Volvo and going for an ipo. Volvo has a major stake, but not a controlling interest. Polestar was a Swedish brand, but this has become seriously blurred as of this summer.
@@ianjay5301 They have the IPO with Gore-Guggehnheim and are on the stock market. But Polestar still shares a lot with Volvo and Polestars will be made in Volvo factories.
It is built in Luquiao China.
@@jeffreyspencer4005 And? A lot of Western products are made in China. Is a Ford Mach E made in Mexico a Mexican car? No. It's American because it was designed and engineered there. The Polestar 2 was designed and engineered in Sweden, not China.
Kyle some of her selfie videos are mirrored, could you flip them back to normal?
for a base trim, its really well equipped
I ordered a Polestar 2 back in June and the estimated delivery is mid September. I can't wait!
What’s the typical wait time for delivery?
¡Muy divertido! I really appreciate getting to check out your Polestar 2. It really looks like a sweet EV.
Polestar looks really good. I went on the site to check out pricing and specs. The range on these things needs some improvement. They solve that and they will certainly be a stronger player.
Polestar 2 isn't built on a dedicated EV platform. Polestar 3 and newer are. Range will be much improved. But range is not necessarily going to be class leading.
Range is a big issue thats I wouldn't get this car, heat pump is not included unless you get the expensive pack, which is shame
How much car do you have guys 😳?
Who else watched her eyebrows the whole time 😅. No hate but it was just entertaining seeing your whole thought process through them thangs without you even talking 😂.
Exactly! Gal seems like a mirror fanatic-selfie kook. Could not finish video. My hang-up I guess.
Congrats. I’ve had my P2 for about 8 months. I’ve had zero, and I mean zero issues in this time. Hope you enjoy as much as I have had with mine.
they are so fast with delevery, compared to many others...
and you can´t go wrong with a volvo
That Thunder colour is everything! 😍 Have fun driving it!
Love my Polestar 2 8 months later! Also CarPlay was recently released!
I ordered a standard range single motor Polestar in May and they are predicting now that I will get the car in December. This in Finland.
need a youtube channel to jump the queue.
Also waiting my Polestar, but BST version.
Just wondering, who are you. I’m used to Out of Spec reviews but don’t know who you are. Is Polestar a division of Volvo? I guess I can check on the internet. I have my doubts that I will go electric. I’m in my late 70’s and the clock is winding down. There maybe zero emissions I but the machinery required to mine all of the ingredients for the batteries alone burn diesel and the companies building batteries need lots of raw materials to make them. I’ll be sticking with my ICE car. I just watched to the end and you answered my questions regarding who owns Polestar. Geely is huge. They let the companies run the same as they were to my knowledge. I think they own Land Rover too. Hopefully the quality control is good.
Polestar is sort of a division of Volvo, yes. It is an offshoot of Volvo and is its own company. However, they do share a lot with Volvo and they are both headquartered in Gothenburg Sweden, and quite close to each other. A lot of Polestar's personnel used to work at Volvo or work at both Volvo and Polestar.
Geely does not own Land Rover. Tata owns them. Geely does own Lotus however and they're doing quite well now. And it is Geely Holding that owns them, not Geely Auto which is a local Chinese brand and one of the brands in Geely Holding.
@@benjaminsmith2287 , I had forgotten it was Tata that owned Land Rover. It’s hard to keep track of who owns what. Tata is huge too.
Who is this person - a guest??
She is not OOS level personality but as a guest okay.
Thumbs up because I like Kyle and team!!! 👍👍👍
She bombed really bad on a video awhile back.
7 weeks, damn you must be special. Mine is on 8 months.
Don't forget to run the software update and get Apple CarPlay now too!
Great video. Although it's incorrect to say Polestar is a Chinese brand. Sure, half it's ownership is Geely, but mostly from a financial standpoint. The headquarters, Engineering, design, etc all Swedish. So basically it's a Swedish designed/engineered car financially backed by Chinese ownership.
wow the Volvo/polestar infotainment has come a long way.
You received your new car after 6-7 weeks? Damn, im waiting for my Renault Captur hybrid until december. Order was placed on 5th july.
Stephen is pretty tall - does he find the center console uncomfortable (rubbing his leg or knees) when driving? Is there enough legroom? Headroom?
I’m short, and I felt like I was sitting in a bucket. That center console is huge!
ask after Seattle trip
@@PygKLB Same, im 186cm and Polestar so far is the worst car i ever sit in.
I wish I could get a Polestar! Unfortunately the nearest authorized dealer/studio is waaaaayyyyy too far away to be practical for any warranty or maintenance work...it's enough of a pain to get the maintenance on my Volvo XC40 done at the dealer thats like 60+ miles away....the Polestar is like one or two states away from me here in the Midwest.....
Nice ride. Love the Polestar 2.
Congrats on the new ride!
I"d think that the Hertz deal is that you should be able to get better support (parts, etc) because Polestar will have to support the fleet of rental cars.
We really wish someone one would do a proper introduction video for jennifer and what her qualifications are
adaptive cruise is must for me. I would never buy a car without it.
Polestar is electric AMG. It is a tuning car company. Born to race.
i didnt realize this was out of spec, i thought this was a random vlog ended up watching the whole thing lol, good work! also like everyone said, who are you???
I was like Kyle and Alyssa look alot different. 🤔
Let’s not pretend Tesla isn’t the apple of cars
Congratulation!
Great video. I bought a Polestar 2 in late June of 22, we love it so far! Ours qualified for the federal ev tax creit of $7500 but I understand that they will no longer qualify. Did you get yours purchased in timie to get the tax credit?
I like the metallic paint.
Good stuff. What I couldn't figure out, and I assume its the camera placement but what side is the steering wheel is on.
Does electrify America cost less then the Tesla charging stations? I agree there is way to many teslas around. And they all appear to have boring colors too. I wonder if the wireless phone charger is just turned off in the software.
My big question here - how do the people on OoSR afford all these very expensive cars - Model 3 Performance, R1T, this Polestar 2 amongst others? Is it revenue from the channel paying for this, or are the car manufacturers passing on huge discounts for the publicity they'll potentially receive. If none of those, these guys must be extremely wealthy.
Exactly my thoughts. I mean, this channel only has 105k subs.
Yeah! Love to see Marin, my hometown.
Almost got one but the price is more expensive then a tesla model 3!! An model 3 has better range even the standard model an better equipment
I like the Polestar, and I think you won't miss not having a glass roof. I've had a sunroof in past vehicles, and even my new Cadillac came with one, but I never even open the internal covers, or the sunroof.
I have a panoramic roof on my Skoda and it spends 95% of its time closed. It is nice to have it open on a pleasant evening when the sun is low, but in hindsight, I would have saved the money or chosen a better stereo instead. In the Polestar you can't even open the glass roof, so I wouldn't worry about missing out.
I mulled that same question before ordering a Polestar. But in the end I thought about how little I look to or think of the roof when driving. In the end, the Pilot Pack seemed like better money spent. I can’t say I’ve ever wished differently since getting the car. On the other hand, I love the 360 cam, great headlights, and adaptive cruise control.
A Taycan, a Polestar 2, and a Fiat 500e? I like these cars but I don't understand why one would want this grouping/collection. Wouldn't adding an SUV to the collection make more sense? Or a plug-in hybrid? There's so much overlap here in terms of categories.
wtf.. I ordered mine 8 weeks ago and it's been delayed until 2023.
I test drove a PS2. It felt 1000 times better than Tesla.
Congrats, nice colour, enjoy the new toy.
what an awesome video, i enjoyed it a lot!
Polestar 2 is too expensive for what it is, but good thing there have 0 mark ups
ID.4 AWD is plenty fast
By the way, you don't pronounce the last "t" in Bonne Appétit :)
Not up to Kyle’s videos…
Do you have right hand drive?
I love sunroof!
The original tesla killer… glad to see it’s still kicking. More EVs the better.
Agreed. Would like to know who’s speaking and I’m watching. Like her accent. Where’s it from?
Damn the cars are so much cheaper in the US.
I ordered a skoda enyaq iv and that's a 52 week wait.... 🙁
Nice video (and love your accent). I learned two things today, no wireless charger in a 50K plus all electric car 🤔 and the Chinese owns Volvo, Polestar and 13 other brands 🤦♂️
It's not "the Chinese." It's ZGH, Geely Holdings, a private Chinese company, and they are a car group. Probably one of the best owners because they don't interfere in the product of their brands. While there is some sharing, it's really kind of minimal. For instance, under Ford's ownership, Volvo used 2 Ford platforms. Under Geely's ownership, Volvo made their platforms but shared some development with Geely for the smaller one. ZGH (Geely Holding) also owns much of Lotus and Lotus is doing well under them and is coming out with a crazy performing EV crossover next year.
@@benjaminsmith2287 I'm getting that Lotus Electre next year!
That delivery process though…. Beats the tesla delivery process. Seems like tesla ppl do not care about their customers. Imma trade in my tesla for this car.
Hello X and Y, great video
Yup! The chinese are making some nice cars.
It's Swedish. There are no Chinese brands that sell in the USA yet.
@@benjaminsmith2287 Geely owns Volvo. They are Chinese.
@@MrIbernie Volvo isn't Chinese. The parent company is. Volvo is a company engineering, designing and managing the operations of their cars in Gothenburg, Sweden. If you don't know the difference between an operating company and it's parents, that's your own ignorance. And I don't need to hear anymore garbage from you on this matter.
@@benjaminsmith2287 why do you bash the Chinese. They make good eV.
@@MrIbernie Yes, they do. But Volvo isn't a Chinese product designed and engineered by a Chinese company. Volvo is an old, European marque. They were.bought by Ford because they're too small to be independent. Ford sold them to Geely Holding. That doesn't mean that they sold a name. They sold an intact company. Volvo is an operation, the same European car company, designing and making and producing their own cars. They are now just funded by Geely Holding. And Geely Holding doesn't micromanage their brands. Lotus is owned by Geely and neither Volvo or Polestar or Lotus are dictated to by Geely on having to use Geely platforms or anything like that.
Volvo has made their own platforms, chosen their own battery partners, and on and on and Geely provides money or, in some cases, Volvo and Geely may work together on some things. Some of Volvo's technology may make it into some other Geely brands. But there are no Volvos that are Geely cars with Volvo badges on them.
China makes excellent cars like NIOs, Great Wall, XPeng, those are Chinese cars. Volvo isn't a Chinese car brand. The Chinese car group is their parent. That's all. There are no Chinese cars sold in the USA. There are some Chinese owned companies selling cars in the USA but they're established European brands. There are some made in China cars in the USA. But no Chinese brands originating and engineered and designed in China are sold in the USA. And I'm frankly tired of hearing people that don't know the details of the Volvo deal saying Volvo is Chinese. It's not the case. Volvo continues to be a Swedish brand but now has the financial backing of a Chinese company.
How is he driving on the left side and then the right side?
Really trying to figure this out. Does not seem possible. Weird.
Did someone hijacked the out of spec channel? Who is this girl with a strange eyebrow tick 🙄?
How much ransom are they asking for Kyle and Alyssa? If we all chip in it might not be too much.
It's Kyle and Alyssa's evil twins.
ID.4 was sooo slow when I test drove it. They crippled it to not beat their high-end gas cars. Great suspension but horrible infotainment. These Polestar 2 look great, haven't had a chance to drive one yet.
Comfort suspension but not really sporty. Hyundai and EV6 and also the Toyota bZ4 have very comfortable suspensions. Polestar is more taut and the Mach E is sporty. Tesla is sporty and I find the Y is harsh on bad roads.
@@benjaminsmith2287 the Polestar is Taunt? What does that mean?

Apparently he learned his lesson.
Sounds like they are frequent changers of cars or owned quite a few. I tend to hang on to my cars that I own. In 3 years, they may look at a Hyundai or another EV brand.
Look how Chinese cars overtaking most us legacy auto by stealing Tesla tech. 😆😅
I would not miss the glass roof. If a rock hits it a replacement would be $$$.
The dearth of what is happening with wait times at chargers-beyond their terrible reliability and user inefficiency-the fact that Electrify America and car companies and other charging companies are using the bait of free charging to get you to buy a vehicle. Whit that owners will not charge at home 99% of the time and are incentivized to charge at Fast Chargers. Kyle talked about it and it is already becoming as issue, even before we have a good , fast charging infrastructure in place for non Tesla chargers in America.
I agree completely. EA needs to stop providing unlimited free charging deals to these companies. They encourage unnecessary congestion at the chargers and will also potentially cause battery degredation that's going to cause warranty trouble in 7 years. A much better solution would be a discount subscription model.
I can’t imagine a better way of achieving lowest efficiency than specifying Brembo brakes.
Why buy a base model. Is it because of the price. Polestar performance is the way too go if you want a polestar.
Is it made in China or somewhere else?
sure polestar 2 only produced at Geely taizhou factory fujian province china ,Geely own volvo brand 100% so
@@xiaoyang9758 Not 100 percent. 82 percent or something like that. Polestar 2 is only made in China now but will start to be constructed in Belgium also in around 2024 or so. The Polestar 3 that is for the US market will be made in the USA.
@@benjaminsmith2287 sure yes, gelly taishan factory used to produce engineering plant, not a professional automobile factory. and the important thing is polestar car sell is not really good in chinese market, in may 2022 they sell only 17 cars in china. so Geely think oversea market is more important for polestar that why they build oversea factory.
