Filming the 74th Annual Catalina Waterski Race

Come with us out to Catalina Island in Southern California where we were invited to shoot the 74th Annual Catalina Water Ski Race for the Long Beach Boat & Ski Club. Stationed on the Malika - a 52 foot motor yacht acting as the turn boat for the race - my partner Daren will shoot photos while I deliver the live stream from 30 miles out to sea.
Attending from various countries, some of the best water skiers in the world will compete for the world title in this historic annual race, as well as for their own personal achievement. Its a grueling 65 mile round trip trek across the Catalina Channel from Long Beach, CA at speeds up to 70mph!
